Good, since it 'healed' you probably didn't hurt anything permanently.

With the 'missing feel' it may have been cutting out due to a wet connection which dried out, or a loose one which got wiggled again. If it happens again I'd be checking connectors.

Get in the habit of feeling motor temperatures after hard runs. Both sides. Shouldn't be 'hot'. Not precise, but will help you get a feel for how hard you are pushing it. It can take a minute for the heat to get to the surface, as the heat travels out from the windings and controller. So check maybe a minute after a hard run.

No deep water, light mist, wet weeds and a very careful rinse finale!

Yes this is my first eBike. The last 3 miles were level residential roads at about 25mph. About 15 min. post ride I did a very gentle rinse to the bike.

There does seem to be more resistance rolling backward than what I recall initially.

I did open a trouble ticket and am awaiting response.

    Thanks again

I understand 1-2 minutes but 40 MPH requires a tremendous amount of power and you mentioned doing that in addition to mostly off road? Hard to know/tell where things were at in relation to thermal overhead and/or available headroom? Is this your 1st eBike?

Have you ever heard about "cook-off" heat? I always ride gently enough to cool down using some airflow before parking my eBikes. If not, the next time you turn it on, the cook-off may have damaged FETs.

Is there any significant resistance when you roll the bike backwards? If you bought this from Luna you should open a trouble ticket with your order number - https://lunacycle.com/trouble-ticket/ they can provide excellent further guidance and possible solutions to the issue.

Thanks for your reply.. 40 mph was for 1-2 min. max. Is there a way I can check the controller?

Might've cooked the controller? 40 MPH is crazy amount of power for any length time.

started a topic 50% speed reduction second ride?

    50% speed reduction second ride?

First time out Sat. on my fat bike build(Bafang BBSHD 58v+hot sauce). Mostly off road, plenty of power and a top speed on street of 40 mph. Commute to work today for ride #2 and can barely get above 20 mph. It also feels how a vehicle feels when it's missing. Fully charged battery. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!
