Adding a new comment here, as my previous thread has changed directions a bit.

I think my basic display is not showing accurate voltage. Shows full bars on display, and 3/4 LEDS on side of shark pack even though im getting a 46.6v read with multimeter. Is the display bad?

Did you adjust the connectors? It's definitely the case connectors considering it won't shut off on the table. That's like a dead give-away. It's like one of the most common issues with these packs. But you were also on low battery, so make sure it wasn't a combination of both?

I did adjust the contacts, but they are still very wide open - im going to bring them in quite a bit and recharge the battery once I get the new connector in. Any option to get a better read on battery other than upgrading my screen? Would upgrading my display give me a good voltage reading?

Yes, upgrading to the color displays such as the DPC-18 or 750c will give you an accurate voltage reading at all times.

    Hello

Purchased one of your bikes used and had a couple questions please. The bike is a KHS 1000 fat tire with a BBSHD, 11-32T cassette, and a 42T sprocket. It has a 17.5ah and the Ludacris option. I'm going to use it for climbing mostly. Do you recommend I go down to your 30T Mighty Mini for the hill climbing? Would that be easier on the motor and battery? I will lose the top end on speed I'm sure. If not the 30T what would you recommend? Will the ones you sell line up correctly like the 42T on it or will I need to purchase a 'certain' model sprocket offset and / or spacers? Lastly, can you recommend a rear rack that will fit the eyelets on this bike? I can't use the ones with the seat post clamp (Thudbuster in place). I would like one with a higher weight capacity too. Any suggestions on makes would be great. Thank you so very much!

Keep in mind that dropping the chainring to a lower size comes with it's own issues such as a poor chainline. The 42T is included to keep the chainline straight so by switching to the 30T, you may experience shifting problems and pre-mature chain/cassette wear.

You can of course rework the cassette to use a 30T with any bike, but it will take some DIY to do so

Shifted wrong going up hill and now my BBSO2 motor runs but does not turn chain. How do I know what I broke? I am thinking clutch. If I take it apart will it be obvious that it is the clutch? In reading the forum I was confused by the different problems it might be. Not sure about the nylon gear. My display comes on, PAS shows 1,2,3... but does not give assist. I can hear motor what sounds like turning but nothing moving. how should I precede before ordering replacement part?

I took apart motor, nylon gear is fine. Controller mofsets tested within range on multi-meter.When apart i hooked it all up and depressed the throttle. Pinion would turn just a little then stop while it sounded like motor was still trying to spin. The controller warmed up when doing this. The cooper wires in the core are dark in some spots and it has a funny smell. I'm thinking I need to replace the core. Just wondering if the controller would warm up if it's a bad core or is the pinion not turning because the controller has a problem and that's why it is heating up?

"The cooper wires in the core are dark in some spots and it has a funny smell."

Yup, there you go. That's pretty good evidence you cooked it. Probably from a lot of stress under high gears. It's fairly common to do this if you're not giving the motor enough efficiency during riding. The core is always the first thing to heat up on the motor.

If you can smell burnt lamination on the windings, the windings are done. That lamination needs to be intact for the windings to function properly.

Thank you for the reply. So you don't sell a smaller sprocket that keeps the chain line the same as the 42T? I'm a novice so thank you for taking the time with me!

42T is the minimum size you can get without hitting the motor housing.

Last year I've purchased a Batt Man Ebike Amp Hour Fuel Gauge but once installed I just couldn't understand it until one of the members suggested me to contact the Batt-man owner to request a firmware that would change the way it shows info. In other words it would shows Wh used when the motor is not using power in the same place you see watts when you are using power. Unfortunately I've lost this firmware and having purchased another one I am kind of lost again and here I am asking for help as I don't seem to be able to contact Batt-man himself. So would anybody out there would have and could share this firmware with me or knows where could I get it from? Thank you so much (again) Regards Clem

Never heard of anything regarding that before. I would assume if you have contacted the company via email there would be a record of it in your email client, just search for the conversation.

Get a wider range cassette. The taller the granny the better if you are stuck using the 42 T for chainline. You then may be able to use a 30T because 3rd gear should be around the 28-32 range depending on cassette. Chainline won't matter to the granny. With the 30T.

Having a problem . Changed controller settings and now when i pedal in PAS 0 it takes off like PAS 9. Supposed to be no PAS assistance in 0. In motor pedal designated assist is by display command. In throttle designated assist is set to 9. PAS9 is 100 100. All other PAS levels appear to work correctly.

Double check to make sure you saved the controller settings right. Make sure you didn't just save a single page of settings and that you saved it all. I've made that mistake before.

I have Giant Anthem X 29er 2016 medium size, interested in adding BBSHD with a Luna battery. Does anyone know what kind of batteries fit in that bike's frame?

Each battery listing has a picture with detailed dimensions, it is recommended to make a cardboard mockup and see what fits.
Also the Wolf pack has a printable PDF you can just tape together, cut out the outline and hold it up to the frame.

Is there some kind of adapter so I can just plug it in to my battery. I posted a pic of my battery. It is very similar to your mighty mini battery. Thanks

Do not know anything about the sleeve variety kit, but is this the adapter I need? https://lunacycle.com/batteries/conn...with-pigtails/
I guess I need the shrink tube and butt connectors also that he talks about in the video plus wire splicer. I have a question though the bullet connectors that my 02 came with what kind of battery to those connect with?

Other bullet connectors. Better to use XT90's though.

Curtis what you have linked is not an adapter but yes it is the matching connector.
You don't really need shrink tube if you use a heatshrink butt splice, it has shrink built in. Just hit it with a lighter after you crimp it.
A lot of this is covered on our documentation https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...ries-basic-faq

It can be a pain in the ass to find stepdown heatshrink splices for xt90 on one end and bbs02 on the other but not impossible. A sleeve you can use but you gotta heat it with a lighter for minutes and take care not to let it catch fire too much (it will smoke like a mofo though on anything with xt90, that's a lotta wire and it soaks up heat like crazy)

I'd like to think if I were a beginner I would just solder it but realistically I would probably just get an oversized splice and really crimp the hell out of it, like really press it down super hard. As long as you can't physically pull the crimp off the wires it's probably fine.

Thank you much, I'll try that.

my luna 52v charger (3amp) is clicking on and off after I connected it to the battery???? Just some details, ran the battery fairly low, still powers the bike at 44.3v. i plug in the charger to the wall and the lights (red and green) come on. Once i connect the battery it starts clicking and the lights go on and off repeatedly.

The 52 volt mini charger has a known issue with charging discharged batteries. Check to see if you've already received the adaptor, ( a small connector with XT60 connectors on both sides that goes in the output line) because Luna was including them with all Mini's for awhile. If not E-mail Luna support and they will set you up with this external connector that will correct the problem.

Ive already got an adaptor (xt60 to barrel) to make the shark pack work, is this another adapter that I haven't heard about?. Ive had this charger for a while now. 52v shark pack with about 15 cycles through both this battery and the charger, just never ran the battery that low before (about 10% according to the luna chart), wondering if this is some kind of safety feature to prevent people from trying to charge a 48v battery or something. I have a basic plastic style 2 amp charger hooked up to the battery right now and am checking the condition of it as we speak, its accepting a charge and is now up to about 47v, I will try the luna charger again once it hits +48v.

Yes, this a part that goes between the charger's output cable XT60 end and the barrel adapter... I didn't seem to have problems until my battery got below 50 vdc or so.

Not sure if this is the right place to post...When I ordered Bafang motor kit, it wouldn't let me order the Wolf (or any battery for that matter) battery. I got a message stating that the battery will only ship with Luna Bike Kits. What is the Luna kit?
Secondly, when I do order a battery, do I need to order extra battery cable and connectors? I have an Electra Townie with a step-through frame. Hope to mount battery on the underside of the downtube. Thanks.

the wolf pack has been unavailable for sale unless you are buying the kit or a full bike, seems that you're getting the kit but in all reality, they are probably out of the battery atm cuz as i personally click on the actual wolf pack page the red bar at the top appears saying that the "cell choice is not available". Probably best to email the sales dept at sales@lunacycle.com.

In May of 2016 I bought a Jetson Electric Mountain E-bike with hidden battery. I use the bike all the time and I love it however, when I contacted Jetson after the motor stopped working, they said they no longer make that model (it's only 2 years old) and they don't have parts for it. Here is the problem: the battery works and is fully charged but the motor isn't working and the throttle does nothing. Apparently, there is no one in the world who can help me get this fixed (after numerous roadblocks with their service department). Does anyone have any idea at all where I can take this to have someone look at it and hopefully get it fixed? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

One of the local bike shop chains in your area, Landry's (1048 Commonwealth Avenue or 44 Granite Street, Braintree) may be able to help. If not maybe they know of a specialist, cough, electric bike nut who interested.

I live in Cambridge and I'd be happy to take look at it sometime.
If you can get to the Artisan's Asylum in Somerville on Wednesday evenings, they have an open-house in the Electronics and Robotics section where you can get more help than you probably really want.

When will Wolf pack, 52v battery be back in stock (approximately)?
