I just purchased a 2018 Cannondale Cujo 2, which can still be returned for a full refund. It has an external bearing BB (FSA MegaExo Boost). Can I install the cyclone motor on this bike? Thanks.

Cyclone support is very limited here. They don't follow the same standards as BBSHD and BBS02 kits. If you don't have any experience with installing Cyclones already, I would not recommend starting with this motor. It's a very DIY motor and you can technically get it to work with anything with enough skillsets and tools.

Check this thread for fitment measurements but what Highvoltage said is also true, it requires a fair amount of reading and fine tuning to do cyclone builds

I have a BBS02 with a Bling Ring 42 front sprocket and a rear Alfine 8 speed internal gear hub with electronic shifters.
I installed a single speed chain, which seems much more robust than the 10-speed chains which break quite often.
The single speed chain is a little noisy. Is there a different sprocket I could use to be more compatible with the single speed chain?

The noise has to do with the single speed chain having a wider opening than the sprocket tooth size, so the chain slides a bit on the teeth. It's not bad. I assume one is supposed to use a single speed sprocket with thicker teeth.

Single speed chains will be noisy with any narrow/wide chainring.

Was the Bafang Ultra purchased from us? If so, email support@lunacycle.com with your order # and request.

If not, then unfortunately we cannot sell these parts on their own due to limited supply. Sorry.

I have some experience and have taken on some tough projects before, but I am no machinist. Would the BBSHD kit fit my bicycle? If so, I may go that route. Thanks.

    Hello,

can someone tell me the value of the coil resistance of a BBS 03 HD. I have ordered a new controller and motor isn't running. Just a short shock then nothing any more till power off/on.

    Best regards from Germany
    Christian

The coil resistance? I don't think anyone has that answer unfortunately. Tell us more about the short shork? What are the details?

    Hi,

first of all i must apologize for my bad english :-( This summer my BBS3 HD got burned after a working time of around 1 year. All mosfets were gone. So i ordered a new controller from Luna. After installing nothing happens either. So i ordered a display DPC18. Today i installed that and yes, it powers on. But the motor doesn't turned and Error 8 was displayed. So i disassembled the whole engine and cleaned the connections. After assembling everything the display powered one but only does a short shock. I can power it with my thumbgas but still only one short shock. The display shows power consumption but nothing happens. The controller heats up a little bit. After power off/on i can shock it again one time.

Coil resistance of my motor is 3-4 Ohm on all windings.

Considering you've replaced the display & controller already. I would wager to say that it's your motor core that has a short circuit somewhere in it and needs to be replaced.

Either that or your main wiring harness. Start with a replacement harness first since it's cheaper.

I just received my Sur-Ron and it won't go above 7mph in either Sport or Eco mode. What can I do to troubleshoot? The battery is at 100%. I also have a spare battery I tried and same issue. Thanks, Rich

*EDIT* I may have figured it out. Is this wire supposed to be cut? It came cut for some reason:

Yes, that is the source of the issue. Some of the recent batches came with a street legal setup for whatever reason. You can just re-attach those wires back and cover it with electrical tape and you should be good to go.

How do you re attach them

        Hello Lawrence,

I don't think it is any of those - I think it is a Hollowtech II type BB.

        Hello Lawrence,
It is an English thread, 68 mm bottom bracket shell. The chain length is determined by the boom (pedal) position, but it generally would be 3 and a half or so standard length chains.
If you don't mind my asking, who did you get the Explorer from, and where are you located (just for future reference, if potential customers ask for nearby owners of Steintrikes).

You can use either square taper 68-83 or isis 68-73. Pretty much the same thing but isis has slightly better tolerances.

Just for future reference, try to keep your posts to a minimum if you can. If you have more to add/say, you can either comment on your first post, or edit it out. Don't worry, we'll still see it and try to answer. It just helps keep the clutter in the thread down and keeps it organised and easy to read for us. Thank you.

Manually swipe the magnet against the + part of the sensor with your hand and see if you get a speed reading.

Yeah it's probably just the distance is off. There's a page in the knowledge base on setting up the speed sensor so it's right distance, for reference

            Hello,
            Maybe you can help me.
I am interested in the Sur Ron Firefly with max 45km / h roads legally what should be sold here soon in Germany.
Is there a way to disable the 45km/h Limit?
... and does it have the same performance when accelerating as the model without the Limit?

Unfortunately, the dealers here do not know anything about this.

Thank you very much and greetings

I should mention that the Sur-Ron's are only being shipped to the U.S and Canada only. So shipping to Germany wouldn't be possible at this time. There are ways to modify it to street legal mode but it's not something you can just instantly switch between with the flick of a button. You can read more about it in the Sur-Ron description page
