    Hello,
    Maybe you can help me.
I am interested in the Sur Ron Firefly with max 45km / h roads legally what should be sold here soon in Germany.
Is there a way to disable the 45km/h Limit?
... and does it have the same performance when accelerating as the model without the Limit?

Unfortunately, the dealers here do not know anything about this.

Thank you very much and greetings

I should mention that the Sur-Ron's are only being shipped to the U.S and Canada only. So shipping to Germany wouldn't be possible at this time. There are ways to modify it to street legal mode but it's not something you can just instantly switch between with the flick of a button. You can read more about it in the Sur-Ron description page

Thanks and I’ll try that today when I get home. If the swiping does not work what would be the next step? This morning I noticed the light on the sensors was dimly lit. I turned the power to the unit on and the light went off completely. Just wanted to see if that might be a bigger problem? Thanks!

That would be unplugging and replugging the sensor to check it's fully screwed in, and possibly replacing the controller

Bought a BBSHD setup a month ago and the charger is dead. Plug it in and nothing happens. It’s the Luna 48v advanced charger. Trying find how to check the fuse, but the online documentation links are either broken or lead to manuals for old chargers. Any thoughts?

If it's DOA and the display doesn't even light up when plugged in take a pic and send it to support@lunacycle.com along with your order number for replacement.

    Hi,
My daughter and I built up a BBSHD luna kit using a Rocky Mountain Element mountain bike for her to ride to school. We got a 52v Panasonic Shark Pack 13.5ah GA and Luna Charger 52V Advanced 300W Ebike Charger. It took us a while, but the build went smoothly, and the bike rocks. It seems to work great EXCEPT the range is considerably less than what others have posted and we were expecting. Riding in PAS mode, she's getting about 9 miles of range from the 100% charged battery in relatively flat terrain. The two times she's tried riding the 6.8 miles to school and back, it's died on her with 4-5 miles to go. I noticed the charge voltage stopped at 54.6v. Since then, I tried doing several cycles of partial drain, charge at 1 amp, then leave overnight to let balance and repeat. I've been through 4 of these cycles, and 6 charges of the battery total. The voltage at full charge has gone up to 55.7v, but hasn't exceeded that the last 2 charges. I've read on the forums that a 52v battery should charge to 58v, and I think the relatively low charge voltage we are seeing relates to the low range. I'm not sure how to proceed with getting more range from the pack. It seems from others with the same pack that it should charge to a higher voltage and have greater range. Any ideas? BTW, I'm looking at the voltage reading on the Luna Charger, which reports slightly higher than the color display.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Hello, ive purchased a 68mm cyclone 3000w kit and now want to put it on a fatbike. Could someone please give me a list of parts I'll need to buy for it to fit 100-120mm fatbike and a link please? Thank you

If you already have everything you needed to do it with 68 then you probably just need the larger bottom bracket. There's several available so you will want to measure the BB shell on the fattie and see what size you need, then order it off the cyclone parts section.

Note: if you go with an isis bb instead of standard square taper, and the original was square taper, then you need isis cranks as well. So just keep in mind that whatever bb you are using needs a matching crank

Trying to build my first Ebike. From Luna, I have the monster cyclone and just ordered the 72v 100amp battery. I know that the battery does not come with a charger. Luna customer service recommended that I use this charger= https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Li-io...SoDb9iL&preST= . The problem is that I need a different charging plug for this charger to plug into the battery. Does anyone know of a charger that requires NO mods? If not, please help me find the charging adapter/mod required for this amazon charger to work with the 72v 100amp battery.

Cut off end of the charger connector, cut off end of battery connector, and add xt60 pigtails on either side with soldering, solder sleeves, crimps etc.
Our charger would require no mods but is currently sold out, unfortunately.

Thank you paxtana. Is it known when the Luna charger will be available? If I were to purchase the amazon charger, how would I know when the battery is charged? (It has no voltage screen, unlike the Luna charger).

You'd wanna use a multi-meter to manually check it. Chargers will be re-stocked in a few weeks or less.

I am a little confused about the best way to gauge battery use. I have a 52 volt battery tht will charge up to 58v, which is obviously 100%. I was riding to day on about 44v and the battery gave out. The battery icon display did indicate it was very low. If my goal is to charge to 80% and use to 20%, do I pay attention to a voltage meter or the display icon? Is 44v near to 0%? By the way I commute up a 1.5 mile hill at average 7% grade. I am trying to gauge how taxing on the battery this is. Any tips?

You want to go off the voltage. The battery gauges are all made for 48v and not accurate for 52.
44 on a 52 is like 10% at resting voltage. If you pull a lot of power at that low state of charge it's going to sag the voltage considerably, and make you hit low voltage cutoff. LVC for BBSxx is around 42, for the pack itself is a bit lower.

Here is a chart you can refer to. May want to print it out for reference.

Hey Luna Cycles! A quick question for bbshd.... So I have a Race Face 30t Narrow wide crank and a SRAM PG1130, 11-42t, 11-speed back, its a diamondback mason 2. What would you guys recommend as a chain ring? Luna BBSHD 130BCD Chainring Adapter?

Luna BBSHD 130bcd Spider Chainring Adapter?

Luna Eclipse Chain Ring for the BBSHD 42 T?

Luna Mighty-Mini 30 tooth BBSHD Chain Ring?

I want to avoid terrible chain line, and also have good torque and top end.
If the eclipse 42t is a possibility, would I have to change chain length?

    TIA

    Chris

Chainline depends on the frame, and the width of the rear hub, and whether you have an intrusive chainstay etc. We can't just flat out say for one frame or another, frames change all the time. That said, if you start with the stock ring you'll get a good idea how much further inbound you can go without hitting the chainstay. Or just go with the 42t eclipse and back it off with chainring spacers if need be. Any lower than 42t can't wrap around secondary and will not give good chainline. Using chainring adapter will not wrap around chainline either. Only Eclipse and Lekkie 42t or higher will do that.

    Hello
I have the Apocalypse V1 scooter. The front right shock has broken off from the inside and need a replacement. Preferably something beefier. Does anyone or Luna know where I can find the shocks?

      Nope.

That bike is a standard bicycle. Ultra needs a purpose built frame requiring access to a skilled welder. We have several mid drives that may work but this is not one of them.

Additionally, the chainstay appears to be flaring out fairly intrusively from the bb shell so even a standard mid drive may need spaced out.

As to the battery there are dimensions pics on the listing, make a cardboard mock-up and see if it fits. Not possible to tell you if a battery will fit a frame just going off a picture, especially on one of the largest batteries in production. I had a guess I would say it is unlikely to fit especially taking into consideration clearance issues to mount the bag.

How about the Bafang 1000 Mid drive kit working with the Kona wozo? It looks like that one slides right into the crank case.

You'll wanna check these links to see if it'll fit. There are like a gajillion different bikes out there that nobody could possibly know the compatibility of them all unfortunately.

      https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...ight-bbsxx-kit
      https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...mid-drive-kits
https://www.reddit.com/r/ebikes/wiki/bbs_faq (comprehensive list of tools needed here, very helpful)

The main thing you should know though is if your bottom bracket shell has threads on the inside, It pretty much means your style of bottom bracket will likely take the BBS motor without needing an adaptor. Threaded bottom bracket shells are called JIS or BSA standard and this is what the Bafang motor kit was designed to work with. The inside diameter of your JIS-BSA shell should be 33.8mm +/- .2mm. Check it. Twice.

I had 8 dead cells in my battery, and I was able to replace them with new cells using a spot welder. I forgot to charge the new cells, so now they read 3.5V while the other cells are 4.0V. Will the new cells ever get balanced from drain and recharge, or do i need to independently charge just these cells to get them up to the same voltage as the other cells?

A bms will not attempt to balance if there is that much of an imbalance in most circumstances.

Don't know where else to look for a similar configuration.

Folding 20in wheels, 52t chainring, 16t single speed stock. I weigh about 210-220lbs. Want to save by using BBS02 (48v), but concerned for it's reliability/durability.

Goal is to keep the reliability up, and weight & cost down. I drive truck, and this will sit in belted in the jump seat. Tried a MPv5 on another build, was too cumbersome, but learned some. Going for a mid for weight, fun, sight-seeing, etc.

Plan on eventually getting an IGH? Recommend 3 or 8spd? Would like to keep the same amount of chain teeth if I can help it? Should I bite the bullet for the BBSHD, though might be overkill? Seeking recommendations.

    Thank you for your time.

Thing with 02 is you want to keep it in a lower gear than an hd. No mid drive should be lugged of course, but hd is more tolerant of it. You can always upgrade the bare motor to hd later on if you feel it is needed, it is a drop-in replacement for the 02.

HD it is. I want to get this right the first time. Thank you for the input.

Guys, any experience with dual front chain-rings using either of these:

    Thanks

The 40T is a terrible chainring and you should avoid it if you don't want to have chain slippage issues.

      Good to know, thanks.
Any comments about mounting dual chain rings? I've done a lot of googling and there's not much information out there.
Seems that people are opting for a single front chain ring and wide range rear casette.

Even if you could rig up dual rings and a derailleur it would be a waste of time and money. A cassette and single ring are plenty to cover the power BBSHDs put out.

    Kindly answer:

    1) Does Luna have the Bafang Ultra 1000 in Stock?
    2) If yes, please confirm Luna will support me with parts if I buy one? I have read on the internet nobody is selling parts on these and I want to buy one, but only if I can be assured of spare parts availability.

      1) https://lunacycle.com/bafang-ultra-m...ike-mid-drive/

      2) Sorry, are you looking to buy the motor or the internal parts to it? The motor kit is for sale but we do not sell the internal parts right now unless it's under warranty. This is still a very newly released motor. It may take a couple years for spare parts to flood the market.
