Are these replacement cases for the Dolphin 48V 13.5AH batteries available? My battery is working fine as is the whole bike. The case is getting pretty beaten up (scratches) from being transferred to the car, around my office at work, on the bike, etc.

I've had no problems with my BBS02 during the first 5,000 miles. But now the pedal assist only operates at maximum speed. The throttle works but also only on maximum speed. I've reset everything and checked all connections. Is this a problem with the display unit or perhaps with the controller?

I'd start with replacing the controller.

Are there replacements for Cyclone 3000w mounting brackets? The drive side bracket is ruined and nothing on website i can buy to replace.

Probably need to email us with pictures etc so we can reference which bracket type it is, but I don't see that being an issue.

Will the solderless barrel connector work with the standard 52v battery charger or only the Luna chargers?

It provides an easy way to add a standard barrel onto any bare wiring. Generally most standard chargers already have a barrel but if it has xt60, or you want to replace the original barrel, or even if it has some other connector, you can indeed put the barrel on it by simply cutting off the original connector first and bolting it onto the bare wires. See this video for how to do that.

Wassup guys. I use my BBSHD for messenger work. My question is, in between all the pick ups and drop offs, is it safe to constantly turn the power on and off for the battery? Or would it be better to just turn the display off while waiting for pickup/dropoff? Whats best for the battery/best for a single charge to last. Thanks!

Either should be fine. Turning it off and on will not affect range or the condition of the battery in any way.

Sup Luna! I'm Loving my Luna BBSHD kit! I purchased the off road Hot Rod programming, is this the same as the Ludicrous programing option? Just wondering if I can squeeze more out of this Beast with a programming tweak?

Unfortunately not. The Ludicrous controller is a custom controller that's been modified (physically) to fool the system into doubling the output.

What is causing the sudden acceleration on my 2017 Rad Rover? Throttle is turned off at red button and it still accelerates.

    Thanks

Sorry, this thread is mainly for Luna products. You'll wanna contact Rad Power for more information and support.

EDIT: For reference, This doesn't mean I know the answer and I'm withholding it. I literally have no clue where to start here. RadPower would have better experience with this as they are likely more familiar with their own systems than we are.

    Hi all,

I recently had my ebike suddenly stop working while motoring along at a normal speed. I took a quick look and found a green wire from the throttle had come loose from its connector. Easy fix, right? Nope.

I put the wire back together - no luck. I replaced all throttle connectors with new ones - no luck. I got a slight twitch from the motor a few times when I twisted the throttle, but nothing more. One thing I noticed that I haven't seen before: the ASI controller is blinking with a red light. Not sure what it means and couldn't find anything relevant in the product manual.

    I have:
    Cyclone 3000 W
    ASI BAC 800 controller
60V 24.5 Ah luna triangle battery
    Luna throttle

What's going on here that I'm missing?

EDIT: controller is blinking a red LED in this pattern:
    1, 6, 2, 4, 5, 2, 5, 6,
    1, 6, 2, 4, 5, 2, 5, 6
    1, 6….
    Found this troubleshooting guide

but still don't know what the problem is. The battery reads 65.2 volts with a multimeter, which is over the 60 volt rating, but that's been the case every time the battery has been fully charged (I've had several months of this exact setup with no issues).

Hello, which frame size is the current Luna Fusion 500 bike on the Luna site? Looking for stand over height. Thank you.

Looks like that model's sold out sorry..just moved it out of 'ready to ship' back to pending and removed the add to cart button. If you want to be notified when taking orders add your email address to the spot listing where the add to cart button was. I believe it was size Large but we may get some mediums when restocked, hard to say. Every listing links directly to the frame manufacturer which has detailed geometry including standover height.

Cool, thank you. Looking for short ppl bike.

This is in regards to installing the Luna Watt Meter to your MAC hubmotor kit. I'll be installing 2 pig taisl beween the 10 AWG battery cradle and the 10AWG wires in the ASI BAC 800 Controller (red and black) and running a wire to the left side of the Watt Meter which has 8AWG wire with XT90 connectors,
Then I will be installing 2 a pig tails between the controller and the battery using either the Green, Blue or Yellow wires which are 12AWG.
Q: Which of the Green, Yellow or Blue wires should I use and which would be negative?
Q: Which gauge wire should I use when I run the wires to the meter? Should they both be 8AWG to match the wires protruding from the meter; or both 10 AWG so that both wires match; or 10AWG from the battery and 12AWG from the controller/motor so that they are the same gauge as the items are wired from the factory?
Q: When running the wire from the motor should I use red and black wires or should I stick to the color of the wires the factory selected?

    Thanks!

      Pictures would help.

I downloaded the pictures from the Luna Website, however when I tried to load them on to this site, I was told that I cannot load pictures that end in .wdp.
I'll carry the items into home depot where an electrician can look at the actual items.
Even if you can't help, I appreciate you responding Paxtana.

Nobody at home depot is going to know how to wire that. You might visit the mechanic at the bike cellar in tempe, they might be able to help you out, he's got good experience with ebike wiring. Anyway.

The blue, green and yellow wires on the controller are phase wires, not discharge wires. You don't want to install anything on that connection. If you are uncertain about this I would highly recommend to do further research into what you are doing before wiring anything.

When it comes to adding additional wiring, larger wires are always better.

    Thanks Paxtana

Hey guys, loving the BBSHD. Im in the search for a portable ac power box now. Searched amazon and there are a few. Does anyone have any idea if these work for charging evike batteries, and Is there something I should know before I purchase one?

      example. https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Outl.../dp/B0116BX968

      thanks!

No, those won't work. You wouldn't even be able to fully charge your battery because it's capacity will exceed the portable charging bank by like 5x the amount. I mean this is essentially what your battery is already. A giant portable power box. It'd be cheaper to just buy a second battery for backup.

EDIT: There is no such product that exists that will portably charge your E-bike battery. The only product that could possibly do that is another even larger, more expensive battery but at that point, you might as well just use the larger battery directly to your motor instead of charging with it.

Your ebike battery has a lot more juice in it than anything like that. When you consider the low capacity and losses from converting dc to ac then back to dc again, probably not going to be worth it compared to just getting another battery.

For comparison that's about 100wh. Luna Shark pack is about 700wh. It would add maybe 10% to your range considering losses, not great considering it costs $200. You could get a mighty mini for not much more and that has three times the capacity of this power bank. https://lunacycle.com/52v-mighty-min...-6ah-3-pounds/

I don't think we have any info like that..Best is to just go with a stock ring 44 or 48t, and go with any aftermarket ring later once you get a feel for what works best for your situation.

That's what I do. I almost never end up running the first chain ring that I try, and I change the freewheel about half the time. It is straightforward to install a new chain ring or freewheel, change the chain length and readjust the derailleur. For starters, I would suggest trying the largest chain ring that fits the ebike (48T?), unless you plan to ride on hills. Large chain ring = more speed = more fun!

Yes changing rings is way easy. If starting with the largest chainring please be very well aware of how to downshift when going uphill and not to lug the motor in the wrong gear. Generally we do not recommend largest rings unless folks know what they are doing since you run more risk of lugging it (and therefore burning out the motor) than you would with a gear that is more optimized towards torque than speed.
