How do you take off the Sur Ron seat and install a new one? I ordered the newer model of seat and am having trouble figuring out the procedure to remove the old one. Thanks!

I don't have a Sur-Ron in front of me at the moment so feel free to take this with a grain of salt but this looks to be how it's done.

There's a couple bolts built into the seat. If you look up at the frame from near the rear shock you can see where these go into the frame and how they are bolted in with a couple nuts.
The only thing keeping you from seeing this is a plastic housing on the underside of the seat. That housing needs removed. Looks like at a minimum there are a couple screws holding the light bracket onto that plastic, don't know if those go all the way into the frame and/or if there are other screws along the sides of it holding it in place, but in any case you need to remove whatever screws are holding that cover on Once this is done you should be able to access those nuts so you can remove the old nuts, replace with new seat, and screw the old nuts onto the new seat bolts.

I'll have one of our guys make a knowledge base post on this later this week with pictures. (course by then you'll probably have already figured it out,

    Hi

Im having some problems with my BBSHD (hotrod Program) from Luna, it gives power boosts and then shuts of for a few seconds then gives full power again for a few second, this then repeats itself
this happends both on the throttle and on PAS settings.
until now i have been able to restart a few times and all is fine.
what could be by problem here?

    Hi Luna,

Looking at the installing info, I didn't see the details on installing the bafang cranks. Does it has markings so I can install it in the right position? Or just eyeball it and make sure that it's 180 degrees from security other?

You'll be able to tell they are positioned right, they are square taper so can only go on in a few positions.

Noob here, please forgive if the question was already asked: if I buy a bike with the ludicrous option, can I program it back and forth between street legal and ludicrous?
    thanks

Yes, you can. Just dial down peak current by half

I have just installed a BBS02 mid-drive, and it seems to run well. Just wondering, is there any recommendation about greasing the gears or regular servicing? i more or less just plugging it in without adding andy grease or lubricant

I am probably going to buy a kit soon. I am wondering a couple of things. Can I substitute parts in the kit...for instance I don't need the brake levers but I do need the hydraulic brake cutoff switch. Also, how much heavier and bulky is the Wolf pack compared to the Shark pack? Thanks for any answers.

The hydro sensors are sold out, otherwise there's a listing option for them. There is a separate listing you can enter your email on and be notified once restocked.

The Wolf is about a pound heavier than the Shark. As far as physical dimensions it is actually more compact. The wolf documentation page has a printable PDF you can use to make a full sized mockup to physically check fitment.

I've been having issues recently with my khs 500 luna fusion ebike battery going out on me in the middle of riding. It has been fully charged in the past so it seemed strange that it would go out midway through a ride even though I'd only been on the road for 10 minutes. Initially I thought it was because I hadn't ridden in a long time so the battery drained quicker. Other factors I think might be coming into play is the fact that the temperatures outside are much colder now. Seems I need to charge it every day before riding. Another thing I've notice is the charger keeps going on and off when it's charging. See the video below. Could it be possible I have a bad charger or battery? Or do I need to change my charge rotation to adjust to the colder temperatures?

What voltage does it cut out at? You didn't mention much about it's charge level. Grab a multi-meter and do a manual measurement of the battery after it shuts off on you during the ride.

Also, for the charger issue, email support@lunacycle.com. But check your voltage levels first on the battery before you do and make sure to relay that information to them also.

Ok I'll give that a try. Thank you for the response. Edit: I did make some adjustments to the charge speed and it's charging normally again.

What is the BMS cutout voltage for the 72V 17.5 AH pack?
    https://lunacycle.com/72v-triangle-p...ebike-battery/

I'd like to set my controller to dial-back the current somewhere above that voltage.

Pack LVC for 72v is around 60v.

Are the shark style batteries waterproof? Can they go in the rain?

They are fairly water resistant but not 100% waterproof. Good for minor splashing but not a full on rain storm.

Quick questions: when will the BBSHD nylon gears be back in stock? When will the shims be back in stock? (SPACER KIT FOR BBSHD BOTTOM BRACKET FITTING (4 PIECES))

I have a two year old Dolphin case battery that I purchased from Lunacycle. Battery is working great. It has a crack along one bottom edge where I banged it around once two years ago. I worry about it as it ages. Is it possible to buy just the case for that battery? Its been great so far.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I bring this post up so I do not have to explain my setup.

Yesterday I rode my bike @ 40 degrees F. I noticed a 2 volt increased usage on a trip and at the end of my ride I encountered low voltage [33.9V] cutout on increase of speed. So now I am seeking my limits this winter and if riding @ below 40 degrees is detrimental to my Shark's longevity.

Upon reading here on the forum, I may insulate my pack from wind and cold temps but is riding like this going to hurt my Shark. If I can ride this winter what is a safe outdoor temp to ride in, and if charging 100% to gain some distance is smart or not.

Very serious about buying your top of the line Sur Ron today or tomorrow but it has one major set back for me hoping it can be altered. I'll be using the bike to locate and film coyotes and from the YouTube videos it seems really loud .Can the bike be made to be more quiet .?

Sorry, this is not possible unfortunately

This weekend I installed a BBS02, 48V Shark Pack, Luna 500c display on my old Gary Fisher Tassajara. Was a pretty easy install and it's working great so far.
My question is: what is the password to get into the Advanced settings on the 500c?

If I already have a narrow wide ring gear on my bike, can I buy the adaptor only?

Which adaptor? Can you be more specific? Whats the BCD pattern?

Could you tell me, on the C965 display setting menu, which wheel size matches 700c? it has all up to 29", but no 700c, and I am not entirely sure between 26 and 29 which one is correct.

Use a GPS app on your phone to gauge your speed, then adjust the displays wheel size until it matches the phone GPS's speed.

Or you can just put 29"
Working...
