I'm looking at the Luna Fixed Stealth E-bike and curious if the battery can be replaced if necessary? Can you remove the motor and slide the battery out of the bottom bracket?

This is a 100% integrated bike. It's not likely going to be upgradeable I think. Also pretty sure due it's size, you won't be able to physically upgrade the battery without increasing it's size and design.

I am interested in the Luna Fixed Stealth E-bike. It appears to have rack-mount placement holes. Is this correct? Does it support installing a rear rack?

      Yes it should be fine.

I am looking at buying the Luna Fusion Fat KHS 3000 but I see that there is only one frame size. I am 6'3" tall, will the medium be too small?

Probably but not soon. Frames come & go and are based around what we have available to us.

Hello, I’m having issues with chain slippage/skips with my Cylcone 3000W setup. The chain skips occur when I’m starting from a dead stop (or close to a dead stop) and I’m not in my lowest gear, and the skips always happen at the Cyclone drive sprocket. Tightening the chain tensioner helps a little, but not much - the only way to avoid the skips is to start in my lowest gear and open the throttle very slowly. I’m running at 72V and using the 40A controller that comes with the Cyclone kit. With this setup the throttle is very sensitive. Do other folks have issues with chain skips using 72V and the standard 40A controller?

Sounds like your chain & rear cassette are both worn out and need to be replaced.

The skips only occur on the Cyclone to crank portion (specifically at the Cyclone 14T sprocket), and the chain, sprocket, and chain ring are all new.

I want to install BBSO2 on a folding 20" wheel touring bike called Terns Verge S27H. Has anyone installed BBSO2 on this type of bike? Instructions? Photo attached.

I'm curious about this too. Obviously batteries don't last forever. How easy is it to swap out the cells when necessary?

This bike is entirely built around stealth and integration. So this will be unlikely to be possible in an easy Plug N Play manner I'd imagine. It's very different from our previous bikes.

Luna Fixed Stealth Ebike: Cool product! Is there a chart for pedal RPM vs MPH? If not, what would the RPM by for 24MPH and 28MPH? Thanks.

Don't think this information is available yet or will be available for awhile. This is still a very new product.

I have a Luna Roam Fusion bike. Trouble started after a spirited long bumpy downhill ride. Having trouble shifting when powered on. Bike shifts beautifully when power is off. I replaced the Shift Sensor and doing the same thing. While riding it does not allow me to shift unless I stop pedaling and then resume.

    Can an you Help?

Unplug the shift sensor and then try to shift on the bike, the motor has nothing that prevents you from shifting in it so I'm not sure why you can't shift your bike even with a broken shift sensor. All of the shifting mechanisms take place in the rear of the bike and not inside the motor. The sensor just shuts off the motor briefly to prevent damage to the gears while shifting since the torque is too much for the chain/cassette to handle it.

    Hello,

I am interested in getting the custom Luna E-Fusion battery Pack. I'm just a bit confused on how it works. Do we ship the bike to you guys? And if so, what is the cost (I Live in NYC)

I am referring to this below:

Luna Fusion 52v 28ah battery pack

I'm trying to put together a titanium bike and buying a battery pack and mid drive kit from you guys.

    And a second question:

I am buying a Titanium bike from Bikes direct to save on costs as the base for this Ebike (which would be my first dream Ebike.)

I am considering these 4 options - all Titanium frames, but I'm concerned there will be some compatability issues with the Bafand BBSHD and battery I'm going to get form you guys.

Are the dropouts beefy enough? Will the frame support it, etc, I don't want to spend almost 2K on the bike and it is not compatible.

Is there any way to tell if these 4 bikes would be compatible? Or would I be better off just buying a Titanium frame by itself and building from the ground up?

And lastly, I'm trying to order the Bafang Middrive kit but was confused by 2 of the options.

I want an anodized ring. What is the difference between these 2?

Hi, we are not making custom built battery packs at this time. The only battery we are currently selling for kits that uses our Fusion tech is the Wolf:

The dropouts are not really relevant to building with a mid drive. What is relevant however is making sure you have a standard bottom bracket. Most bikesdirect bikes use standard bottom brackets but you may want to double check http://electricbike.com/forum/forum/...ight-bbsxx-kit

I would not recommend going with a bike that has drop bars for this build, as there is no good place to put the throttle.

The difference between the mighty mini and the eclipse is the chainring sprocket size. 30t optimizes for torque at the cost of reduced top speed. 42t eclipse is a more balanced approach, at least if you go with the 42t version. Please note the listing you inked is just the face, not the sprocket. This is the listing with both sprocket and face https://lunacycle.com/luna-eclipse-c...for-the-bbshd/

This is a comparison of chainring offset https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...g-offset-guide

Eclipse has a lot more inbound offset, which can be good. You may be able to use 30t sprocket, but you may need to mess with it a bit, rearrange cassette gears etc. There is further info on this on the documentation above. I would either go with the 42t eclipse and a chainring spacer, or go with stock until you see how much offset you need. The further you put the sprocket outbound the harder it is on the drivetrain unless you take extra steps

^^^OK thank you. Great info and links.

From these 2 bikes - Titanium MTB and TItanium Fat Bike frame. Which would you recommend to convert using Bafang midrive?

Probably the mtb. Might not be as good of a chainline as the fattie but you got a suspension fork which is very nice.

That said.. see how the chainstay flares out from the bottom bracket shell in those pics? Ideally you want to avoid a frame like that or you may run into fitment problems if the chainstay prevents fully inserting the motor. It is flaring out on both of the bikes you linked, and this is pretty often the case with a lot of bikesdirect bikes.

Generally this is more commonly the case on titanium frames, carbon frames and other nonstandard frames. Personally I would just get a random hardtail MTB off craigslist and upgrade the components as needed, as these more common frames are less likely to give you problems. But assuming you have already measured for interference or are prepared to possibly need exchanging the bare motor for the 100mm version, either bike should work. Please note this is general advice and not intended to be construed as a promise or guarantee of fitment.

Looking to purchase a couple more Luna Lander Forks ( 135mm dropouts) do you have any idea when they will be back in stock? Thanks

Ask in the re-stock request thread

Hello - Will the ASI sine wave controller smooth out the acceleration curve for a Cyclone 3000W motor running at 72v. The acceleration curve of the standard 40A controller is very steep (at least at 72V), so the throttle becomes very sensitive - especially the first half of the throttle. I’ve heard that sine controllers in general have smoother acceleration than square wave controllers, but I’m hoping the Luna calibrated ASI’s will significantly reduce the initial acceleration of the throttle. Thanks!

It might, no promises though. Yes in general how a sinewave controller accelerates is more smooth.

I purchased the Bafang BBSHD 120mm. If I purchase the spindle for 68mm will I be able to take off the 120mm spindle and put the 68 on? https://lunacycle.com/bbshd-68-73mm-mid-axle-assembly/

Is there any particular reason? I’ve seen tear down and rebuild videos of the BBSHD, can I do that and swap the spindle or am I missing something?

It's not just the spindle that needs to be replaced, the outside axle shell itself would need to be replaced or shortened. The spindle is just an internal replacement part. It's not an actual part for adjusting the size of your BBSHD.
