Regarding the Banana bike...I built mine with Luna's Triangle 28ah battery and love the power and range. The bags that hold that battery however couldn't hang from the top tube of the Banana frame without tearing...I had to rest the battery bag on the down tube and use flying zip ties from the top tube to the bag to keep the battery in place. It looks weird, and there's a better way. If there were a pair of "forks" to mount in the down tube area to hold the 28ah Triangle in place, I could secure it without the flying zip ties. Anybody know where I can get such "forks"?

I have an Electra Townie EQ 7D men’s bike and my wife has the same bike women’s model. Can you tell me what I need to order to put Cyclone 3000 watt mid drives on these please?

Hi there, this would be the starting point for making measurements in order to see what you need to do a cyclone install
There are many options and what you want will vary depending on your goals and the bike itself.
We will start by measuring the bike, then go over the options available and finally, installation instructions.

Measurement
We will not cover disassembly or other topics that can be
There are a couple odds and ends you might also need depending on what tools you own. For example if you don't have a soldering iron you might want to pick up a box of our solder sleeves for simple wiring jobs https://lunacycle.com/luna-solder-sleeve-variety-pack/

Looking to convert a 2013 Raleigh Tripper (3-speed shimano IGH) and trying to figure out what I need for a BB adapter for the Tongsheng TSDZ2. Since it's an IGH it currently has an eccentric PF30 BB for chain tensioning. TSDZ2 requires threaded (?) BSA. There are plenty of PF30 to threaded BSA adapters, but worried about the chain tension issue because of the IGH hub.
Would this work? https://lunacycle.com/american-style...o-bsa-adapter/
Or this? https://lunacycle.com/luna-threaded-...ttom-brackets/

- pull the current BB
- reset the eccentric inner hole to the bottom center of the rotation
- buy/install the TSDZ2 and likely that special, offset 42 tooth chainring

I'm a newbie here. I'm looking to invest in a Trek 1120 and I'm interested to know if I can fit a Bafang BBSHD to this particular bike? I've read a bit on this forum and it seems that the BB on this bike is pressed on and I may need an adapter? if so, which adapter? also, which motor kit will I need? Thank you .

Hi this is the pressfit documentation you probably will find helpful: https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...mid-drive-kits

Charging question. I have the Luna 300W advanced charger. so there's a lot of adjustability. The booklet that came with the battery or charger said the first 5-6 times you charge the battery you should charge it to 100% and let it sit to balance. But I have 2 questions. "Ideally" should I use the 3 amp setting 1 amp, 5 amp or it doesn't really matter? When the battery reaches 100% and the charger clicks off should i then unplug everything or leave it plugged in for a certain amount of time after it initially turns off? I'm not sure if the charger trickle charges for balancing after initially shutting off or if thats something that happens once you fully charge the battery unplug it and let it sit.

Ideally if you are trying to treat your battery gently for longest life, then you always want to charge as slowly as is convenient. This is as true for the first charge as the 100th.
When the charger stops charging you should be good to unplug and use whenever you want. If the fan is not running then it's done.

I was really hoping to avoid a tensioner as this will be a bike ridden in MN winters, but I see after some searching today that there are these "rollenlager" style tensioners with no sprockets. Trying to avoid that since they can get gummed up with snow and ice.
So long story short, I think I can get away with a simple PF30 - BSA BB adapter and I'll be set! Thanks again.

BB92 shells you need this adapter https://lunacycle.com/pf-41-adapter-...ttom-brackets/
You will still want to take measurements to figure out which motor size best suits this frame. For those questions and other considerations you may want to check the rest of the knowledge base https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...ter-repository

Hello,
We're experiencing power loss with the ASI hub kit. Full setup is attached.
Our e-bikes are used for deliveries in NYC, so road conditions aren't ideal. We can't always avoid bumps in the road. After installing the ASI to replace a motor from another manufacturer, we noticed that if the front wheel comes off the ground slightly due to high speed, the motor shuts off when the tire makes contact with the ground again. We do not use throttle over bumps or other obstacles, but occasionally we will not see the obstacle in time (or at all), so the throttle will still be engaged and the motor will shut off. Then we must stop and reconnect the battery to reset the motor and get going again.
1. Is this an intentional feature of the motor?
2. Is there a safe way to prevent this from happening in the future?
Thanks! If you need more information please ask.

Good morning folks.
battery: Luna Shark 52v 13.5amp
So I charged up my battery to full and then went to go use it.
When I plugged the battery in to the slide mechanism thing the battery just like blew up through the charging port.
Now just by looking at the charge port it’s quite clear that’s it’s dead. but the battery still reads 58v.
My my question is where can I get a replacement barrel plug assembly thing?
(look at picture to see what I need plz)
it goes from a barely plug to an xt30 connector to the battery pack.
I have never soldered or messed with electronics in my life. So patience and a help would be greatly appreciated :)
thanks in advance!3 Photos

I have one of these charge ports I can send you, looks to be the correct version. Feel free to message me or email support attn:gary with your order# and/or address.
Though the bigger question is why sliding it into the cradle would cause a short at the charging port. That should not be possible. Is there a possibility there might have been some bit of loose metal in the port that touched when moving the battery? Were the discharge contacts on the cradle or the underside of the case damaged in any visible way?

But, BUT, replacing those parts would require soldering, and frankly ebike battery repair is not a job for the inexperienced.Last edited by ncmired; 05-21-2019, 02:37 PM.
