My BBS-HD motor is suddenly putting out little power and getting very hot. The 750c display shows the Watts going up and down 100s of Watts very quickly (changing every second). Any idea what has gone wrong with the motor? Thx, Paul

I'd open up the controller side and see if there's any signs of problems. Maybe check the motor core side too.
This tutorial is to do maintenance on the BBSHD

You better don't take any chances and order a paper gasket they break very easily, Click here. (https://lunacycle.com/parts/bafang-parts/bbshd-parts/gasket-for-main-steel-gear-bbshd/)

Tools needed:
You will need a small blade

Luna Shark Battery Turning Off
I have recently had my bike converted to an ebike with the Luna parts. Unfortunately the battery and peddle assist has proven to be very unreliable and turns off while peddling. I feel the battery starting to fail and then it will turn off and the display screen turns off. I have checked the battery is set and locked in the cradle, it is not wet, the connections are all tight and checked, and the battery is fully charged (after the last ride but is holding a charge). I really hope this can be solved, this has become an expensive and heavy unreliable bike for my long commute.

How old is this unit? The underside connectors of the Shark Pack probably need to be adjusted. I'd check those first and adjust them. See if it makes any difference.

Hello - I have the 3000W Cyclone motor and the 72v Panasonic GA 10ah battery (20s3p). I'm considering upgrading to a sine wave controller. If I go with the ASI BAC 800 Controller (72version) would I want to get the 2000W version or the 4000W version? I'm guessing the 2000W version would be best, as I'd like to keep my continuous draw down to about 25-30 amps - but wanted to make sure I'm understanding it correctly. Thanks

Hello,
So I have a 2018 Emmo Zone Sport Scooter and been riding it for almost one year now, I been having some major light issue on one side causing me to always drive with high beams while going home from work. Pretty much the one side is way brighter and the other side is dim. I changed the bulb and found no wiring unattached and was wondering what else it could be?
Thanks.

LUNA BBSHD 1500W ... Bearing count?
I found the PAS Magnet is broken so that needs to be replaced, everything else on the chainring side is OK, I did not pull the shaft and look at the Thrust Bearings.
I want to replace all the roller and ball bearings as I'm at 6200Km and no servicing has been done.
There is a grinding noise coming from the unit, much like a bad bearing set.
Is my parts count correct for my rebuild?- BBSHD PAS Ring x1: https://lunacycle.com/bbshd-replacement-pas-disc/

Sounds about right. Though it may depend whether you are counting the bearing pressed into the steel gear. Probably easier to replace the steel gear since the cost is low and you would not have to press it in. Given that the steel gear itself can wear out anyway it might be the way to go.

The Bering on the Mid Axle Assembly is fine: https://lunacycle.com/bbshd-100-mm-mid-axle-assembly/
The Bering on the Steel Gear Assembly is fine: https://lunacycle.com/parts/bafang-p...hd-steel-gear/
Does this eliminate the 2 out of my order, or do I still need more of them?
As I haven't opened up the motor side, I want all the necessary parts and just do this once when its opened up.Last edited by MichaelT; 06-03-2019, 10:18 AM.

Hmm, not sure. IIRC there is also a bearing pressed in the housing of the core, but again, very hard to add/remove. I don't know that you necessarily need any of this particular part but it may be good to have at least one on hand if you do not know where the noise is coming from.

Hello, my name is Lyndon and I have a question about the Luna Charger 48V Advanced 300W Ebike Charger. Last night I was charging my 48v Panasonic 13.5ah Shark Pack. I was charging up to 80% using the 3.0 Amp setting. When the charger finished charging, the LED went green. After a few seconds the relay clicked and the light went red again. It charged again (red LED) and finished again (green LED). This cycle kept repeating every 10 to 30 seconds. Is this behaviour normal for this charger?

My experience is, its the pack levelling out the charge in a Parallel. As the BMS detects the drop in total charge for the P, it starts accepting a charge again, and this is the cycling of the charger.
I have always charged over night @ 1amp to 90%, a slow charge eliminated the cycling of the charger, and lets the pack be in a rested condition before riding, I found a slow deep charge lasts longer and is better than a med or quick charge.
I let my pack rest for at least 1 Hr after doing a quick charge @ 3 or more amps. This resting allows the pack to cool down, and the cells parallel to level out.
Excessive cycling may indicate a bad cell in a P, it may be weak and can't keep a charge. This can be checked by doing a quick charge to 80%, let it rest for 1 hr, then check the cells, the lowest should be no more than .2V difference.

Is it possible to make a Luna Cycle DCP-18 work with an E Lux ebike with a a bafang 750w rear hub motor? The Bigstone display my bike came with isn't very useful, and isn't great for battery level etc.Last edited by Kommi; 06-03-2019, 08:58 AM.

Hey! Hopefully 3 quick/related questions:
1) I have Luna BBSHD on this bike and specs: https://www.cube.eu/en/2018/bikes/mo...talnmint-2018/
I want to switch to a Rohloff hub. Which exact model do I need? -- I know I need disc brake compatible hub cap, 12mm thru axle, and external gear mech, but which size/width of the Rohloff and which torque anchor do I need from the ones listed on https://www.rohloff.de/en/products/speedhub/variants/ ?
2) With the Luna Eclipse chainring, my chainline is straight in about middle of the 10-speed casette on the rear wheel (that's before Rohloff). When I remove the Luna chainring and revert back to the original one, the chainline will be even further away from the bike. How/where do I control at which distance will Rohloff's single outer sprocket be placed, to ensure that the final chainline is straight?
3) Supposing I would also switch to a belt drive, is this possible and what are the most basic things/considerations I should know about doing this?
Thanks!

"Wheelset - Answer Atac EM, 20x110mm / 12x157mm, Tubeless Ready" ... https://www.cube.eu/en/2018/bikes/mo...talnmint-2018/
Your rear spacing is a 12(Thick)x157(Long) Boost axle, so you will have to find a conversion kit for the Rohloff to fit into there.
Here are the specs to all 3 available hubs ... https://www.rohloff.de/en/experience...pecifications/
Rohloff makes some conversion kits, there are also aftermarket ones available, you will have to do some searching to find them.

For the chainline, you can tweak the Rohloff chain line a little via either the screw-on or splined sprockets. Fortunately the Rohloff has a wide chain line by default, which would probably lead you to spacing correctly the BBSHD.
Converting a full suspension bike with a BBSHD to belt, well that's likely a saga by itself - "tensioning" is the magic word.
P.S. There's a contingent here in the U.S. that wouldn't mind a container-load of Rohloff hubs smuggled in, somehow.Last edited by ncmired; 06-05-2019, 05:41 AM.

Hey, thanks for the reply.
I've checked with Rohloff and they responded saying the Speedhub won't fit, as shown in the excerpt below (contains useful info in general for thru-axle):
"... We are able to supply a version which uses a thru-axle-frame-compatible axle which we have called "A12".
These A12 SPEEDHUB versions require the dropouts of each individual frame to be accurately measured with a special test kit before we are able to confirm their compatibility. Your local dealer can obtain this kit on loan from our local distributor to test your frame.
... The A12 SPEEDHUB verisons are only available with a choice of 142mm, 148mm, 177mm or 197mm O.L.D. We cannot supply a 157mm unit."
Also regardless of the 157mm issue, I have also separately found in the A12 docs that A12 is not available on the general market, and is only obtainable through bike shops who will make the installation, or on/with new bikes.

Hello Everyone,
Quick question about Luna's offered seat suspension choice - Bodyfloat:
As I'm a 300lb rider with a couple hard tails I have been looking at these options. What I have only seen on Luna is the option of 'Extra Large' covering 260-375lbs. No where else in my research, including Bodyfloat's own website for their product, list this option - highest rider capacity is Orange/Orange springs for up to 250lbs.
Before I order this setup from Luna, just wanted to ask how you achieve the higher weight capacity? Custom Springs? spacers? Other?
Thanks so much,
Shaun

Last I checked (which admittedly was many months ago) Cirrus does not keep their website up to date.
We found this out because we used to have the listing detailing not just the spring size but the corresponding spring color as well. Turns out Cirrus had changed their entire production so different colors signified different weights and people were like, oh I got the wrong thing, when actually that was not the case. We had to edit the listing because of the conflicting info provided by Cirrus. It is likely that Cirrus probably still have not updated their site and this is the reason it does not show extra large. We are not modding the seatpost with custom springs that's for sure.
