Depends how much you are pedaling. That said, this is a carbon bike and not built for like 400lbs. If you want to tow cars or something like that, you should probably pick one of our bikes with BBSHD

    Hello

Have a question about the BBSHD
    Pedaling the bike works fine.

When throttle is engaged motor makes whirring sound and does not turn pedals.
    (motor turns on and spins)

    & can't move bike backwards,chain is locked.

this was preceded by a loud vibration through the cranks.

Do you know what this could be??

    Regards,
    Robert

BBSHD whirring, but not turning pedals. (preceded by much vibration through cranks) Pedaling the bike works fine.

Just found this Youtube for a broken shaft. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQs9eWvM-pQ

    Thanks,

The only way to know for sure is to open it up and look.

I mean, the motor does not turn the Cranks. Motor comes on,but does not make the bike move. I can still pedal the bike ok,but not push bike in reverse.

    Would this be a clutch?

    Thanks for the help.

It sounds like it may be the helical portion of the rotor core as shown in the video linked. If you can open it up and have a peek at the core we will know more info.

      Suggestion: auto-assist level

I bought a stealth fixed bike to ride just to get out and get some exercise. I live in a very hilly area and need some help mostly on the hills. I think it would be great if the assist level could automatically increase as the incline increases. Especially given that the stealth has such a small battery capacity.

Since I am biking for excercise I don't real need/want a boost on downhill. Maybe only level 1 on flats, and 2-3 on inclines.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will pass it along.

I need an extension cable for me gear sensor.
You have this cable which works, but I need 1-2 inches, not 40. The extension I need is so short even a barrel extension connector might work.

      https://lunacycle.com/bafang-gear-se...tension-cable/

Is it easy to splice and shorten this cable? Or is it gelled; stranded cable, or otherwise impossible to shorten?

I would not say it is impossible, but I have seen several folks mess up their bike doing that. The wires are extremely small.

Is there a spot to buy the ends and build my own solid core extender?

I'm looking for a e-bike for some assist when riding with my boyfriend (he is an avid cyclist, I am in average shape). The last e-bike I tried had too much assist even at the lowest setting, so that I either zoomed ahead on level 1 or fell behind on zero assist.

I really like the Luna stealth fixed; what's the approximate power output on each of the settings? Thank you.

I don't know the approx output but it may be useful to bear in mind this is a 36v nominal ebike. If the other you tried was 48v or 52v then it is likely pas 1 on this bike will be more gentle.

Hi, My BBSHD was making a whirring sound, but not turning the chainring. I took it apart. Clutch looked and felt ok. Center shaft not broken. Took off Nylon Gear cover and it lookes like its Broken. Problem solved.

If I only knew where to get a Nylon gear to replace it. Can't seem to find one anywhere.

Thanks,it just took the courage to take the motor apart, not a huge undertaking at all. just a new skill learned.

A couple X1 questions. Max speed for the standard config w/ throttle? Also, I understand throttle is not included with the ludicrous controller to avoid damaging the motor in ludicrouse mode, but what about non-ludicrous modes with the ludicrous controller? Will it work with throttle? Or will the ludicrous controller disable throttle for all screwdriver settings?

Max speed is probably dependent to some extent on how much you are pedaling. With throttle only it should be equivalent to other 48v mid drives since voltage is the primary factor to top speed, not amps. Maybe around 28.

Throttle is not on the ludi mode, yes. I do not know what you are referring to with non ludi modes and ludi.

        I found a Nylon Gear Here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/BAFANG-New-...r=472519423569

I chose them because the fast shipping,(and Luna was out of stock.

I ride my Ebike to work 6-12 miles a day,and lots of hills. Without it,I have been having to take Uber to work, and it's adding up.
Cheaper than car insurance an repair in the long run though.

Thanks for all the Support people, keep you "posted" on the results.

        Cheers,
        Robert

I am referring to setting the bike with ludi controller to street legal with the screwdriver to make it equivalent to the standard configuration (750w) or lower and whether it is possible to add and use a throttle. Or is the ludi controller completely incompatible with throttle? I am thinking there are a lot of people that want this bike and want the ludicrous controller but don't want to give up throttle completely.

It is my understanding that it is completely incompatible, yes. And that this is by design to limit potential damage to the drivetrain.

I recently installed a Bafang BBS02 Mid Drive on a Gary Fisher mountain bike. All was going really well until I was going up a hill and the motor seemed to be not engaging. I fully charged my battery. The display works, but anytime i petal or hit the manual throttle all i hear is the motor whining, but it does not engage the crank. NO POWER. bummer, have barely used it a week. Please help!!!
