Hello, I have a 98? MM BBSHD Drive bought for a project that did not work out. I now have an "Xtracycle" with a 68MM bottom bracket. Where can I get a set of spacers to make this work out?

Thanks! Ill buy the bracket and go with the conduit nuts... I bought the "fitkit" and although nice, was woefully inadequate for this much extra space. If only I was able to get this motor on my all carbon Santa Cruz...

    Hello,

After spending many hours digging I am hoping to find an answer to my specific question.

I maintain a fleet of Worksman Cycles trikes. I am looking at the Luna Buying guide for the BBSHD and wondering if it would work? The i.d. for bb shell is 52mm. I currently have installed a Truvativ BB converter
    • Aluminum cups w/ steel hardware
    • Converts a non-threaded 68mm American BB shell to an English threaded Euro BB)
to upgrade the crankset components. Could this converter be used to allow for instillation of the BBSHD?

Thank you so much for your time and energy.

It looks like it might work. The ends may add a few mm of length to the shell so that may need to be taken into consideration but if that gets you a standard english threaded bb then should be doable.

how can i wake up a shimano bt-e6000 battery to use it on a homemade ebike (bafang promovec etc) i guessing the two middle cables do need som kind of voltage command

This thread is for Luna products currently only. You'll wanna contact the original manufacture or seller for troubleshooting help on these kind of issues.

    Good day everyone,

I wish I could buy a complete Sur Ron on lunacycle, but I need to get it in Paris to have it "legal" to use on the road.

I'm looking to do few mods, starting by putting a Sur-Ron Super Moto Conversion Kit from lunacycle. But at the same time, I would love to put a belt kit as well.

Any one of ya already did that ? Do you believe the guys from Luna could arrange me a Sur-Ron Super Moto Conversion Kit with a belt drive system ? I don't know how to contact them.

    Thanks !

    Cheers

If the supermoto kit is available it can be shipped. Modding the bike for belt is way different and requires cutting into the frame.

Thinking about converting a belt-drive Spot Acme into an e-bike with one of your mid-drive motor kits. Was wondering if any of the kits can be purchased with a Gates chainring, like the one on your Fixed Stealth?

I have seen a few folks do conversion with bbshd and an adapter going from the bafang bcd to the gates chainring. It is kind of tricky though and requires a lot of trial and error.

Hi, I bought a used Pedego interceptor about 4-5 months ago and have been happy with it for the most part, it's a bit more of a cruiser style than I prefer in a bike but I bought it from a friend at a good price and my commute is long so it's working for me. However, my controller recently went out on it and when I called a local dealer about it they said it's discontinued. I plan to call their "headquarters" next week but I thought I'd drop a note here since you're local and I really liked your mission statement. Any advice appreciated. ~Rick

I just noticed in another post that this forum is technically for Luna bikes only. If that precludes a response, I'll delete the post, but I'll wait to see what the response is first. Thanks again, Rick

Thanks for the reply, very much appreciated. In the interim I found a controller almost identical to mine from an outfit in China. It appears to be identical in every way except that the main battery wires (1 pos and 1 neg) and the nine wires that go to the hub (three phase and 6 Hall sensor) have been changed to waterproof connectors, where mine are just regular slip connectors at the controller end. My 9-wire harness that goes from the controller to the hub could easily be swapped out with a 9-pin extension cable because mine is already the 9-pin waterproof type at the hub end (female), so that takes care of that. All that would be left would be to connect the two-pin waterproof cable (male) on the new controller to my regular slip connector wires that go to the battery just inches away, that ought to be pretty easy to work out too.

That's not really all there is to it.. you have to match the halls wires and there is no common standard for what wire color corresponds to what, so you have to manually match it through trial and error. But it is good you found a controller that is at least same power level.

I called Pedego and they were super helpful. My controller was indeed discontinued by the original manufacturer but they hooked me up with an updated controller and the cables required to make the conversion. If nothing else, I will say that I am impressed with their customer service. I am just as impressed with how you are helping people here with your responses here. The eBike world is still fairly young and as you pointed out, there still some non-standards out there, so for folks who are DIYers, it is super cool to have a forum like this available. I would definitely feel comfortable buy something off the site knowing how responsive you are. I will be visiting Luna Cycle as well. Thank you again for your replies.

BBSHD axle moves back and forth along its axis. Right crank arm goes from touching sprocket up to a gap of about 1/16” away from sprocket. I checked the housing and all else seems tight. It’s the axle moving within the BBSHD. No play noticed when I pedal. Address this, or ignore it?

Seems like not a lot of play and most BBSHD have a little play like that so I wouldn't worry about it. You could open it up and check the bearings etc but would be unlikely to make much difference.

Anyone know where I can buy a, Sturmey Archer Dynamo 2.4 Front Hub HDS92T 6V*2.4W? Lock nut to lock nut - hub spacing 100mm. I'm still trying to get my K2 Easy Roller BBSHD, BBS02 or Cyclone ready. I'm seeing the 3W here and there but not the 2.4W that is currently working the AI-3S01 Automatic Unit.

For more than 100 years, Sturmey-Archer has been a pioneer in the design of internal gear hubs, hub brakes and dynamo lighting. Sturmey-Archer makes cycling easier and safer.

I have a Luna 300w advanced charger for my home base to do my charging. Is there a durable no thrills charger I could pack on my bike in case of emergency I could recharge with? Wolf Pack V2 52v 30q 12ah is what I would be charging. It isnt something I need to buy right this second just kind of thinking down the road it would be nice to have. (noticed there's only one type of charger in stock at the moment)

I was considering buying a 2nd 300x advanced charger but not so sure about how that would handle traveling on the bike all the time. Seems if there's a smaller more durable no thrills option that would be a better way to go.

A new charger is in the works to be as durable as Wolf.. probably will replace advanced so it won't be no frills though

That is Awesome! I will definitely be wanting one of those when they come out!

BBSHD ... The large pinion bearing in the casing (not the pinion support plate assembly) can you link me to the correct item in your store?
If you don't have the item, can you give me the correct part number and dimensions of the bearing please.
      NVM ... 35mm OD, 17mm ID, 8mm D ..... Common bearing known as a 16003-2RS (2 Rubber Seal)
I came across a 16003-2Z (2 Zinc Steel Seals) that is an upgrade to what is in here now.
I might also go for a EnduroMax as well if it's available.

My bottom bracket shell has some flanges on it that are preventing me from sliding on the BBSHD. My thought was that if I can get the motor housing open (take off the part that I think has the stater in it) then I could slide on the motor and then put the housing back together. But I'm a little unsure of how to get the housing apart. I took out the four bolts and have tried to gently pull apart, but it doesn't seem to want to come off. Is there a trick to getting this apart?

I think those are part of the ISCG tab design, and most likely will have to be removed. Unless maybe there's an eccentric version of that adapter you've got in there.

Quick check before I order......here are the symptoms (BBO2).....1) LOTS of resistance to being rolled backwards 2) with assist level set and turning pedals (in stand) i hear a whining/whirring sound, stops when I let it coast. Same sound when I hit the throttle. Everything I read says I need a new nylon gear, does this sound right?

Hi, I'm interested in the fixed stealth, and I have a few questions. I'd like to get/build my first ebike and the fixed stealth looks like a good option. I don't really need it to be stealthy since I'll rarely leave it locked up anywhere, and I don't think it's a problem to ride any ebike on the streets in our area. I'm interested in the stealth, because I LIKE to pedal, and it seems like a good bike for pedaling and riding without power too. I'm interested in what the motor is, so I can find out more about it's reliability and functionality. I'd also like to find out more about the model of the frame.
        Thanks!

I believe it's a custom motor built specifically for the bike I think? Specs for it are currently not available from what I know.

I'm looking at your Loan Wolf Roam and it looks like you only have the large in green. Is there a way to send you a black roam and pay to get the parts switched over? The green isn't my thing. Seems like the Roam is in stock at GIANT and should come very quickly. Or is it a matter of waiting a week and the black will be in stock again?

I really want to buy from Luna and am just trying to figure out a solution so I don't have to strip and powdercoat the bike. Thanks!

Yo to All at this Forum ! So, which way do I orient my Mac 6T for a front hub setup ? As I face the bike and frt hub from the front does the wiring go on the right side ? ( a few quick images might be helpful too.) The Luna kit arrived complete & in good fashion. I have alot of info. to gather and work to do to install the new Luna Mac 6t w/ 800 ASI kit on my old 1999 Rans wave with 16" frt forks. Thanks, RA

If you stick it in the dropouts and hit throttle, you want it mounted in the direction that spins the wheel forward
