Looking for a mid drive motor for an odd sized bottom bracket. The bracket is 65mm long with an axle opening diameter of 40mm. Is there a mid drive that I could use on this configuration ?

Hey Luna Cycles, I'm ready to put an order in for a bike but am waiting on the release for the Apex. Can someone please tell me an ETA for availability and an estimated starting price? Thanks!

Apex details haven't been released yet. Stay tuned.

I am interested in purchasing the Luna Fusion Crusher 2. I see you only sell medium size. Will a medium fit someone 5ft 7in tall?

    Thanks

Does the dpc-18 display work with a 52v battery?

    Comment

On the BBS02 sale page the 52v battery option has gone. Will this be getting re-added? When does the sale end?

      Comment

Yes the DPC 18 works with 52 V batteries. I just checked the listing and the option for 52 V battery is there. However due to demand we are running low on that pack, so if you plan on getting that option you probably want to do it sooner rather than later.

You can add everything into the cart and go to check out, once you get to the payment selection after you enter in your shipping information it will give you the shipping cost. If order includes a battery overseas, support will get back to you with additional ocean freight costs but without a battery it should accurately reflect the shipping cost at checkout. If not, we will get back to you via email. For a more definitive answer feel free to email sales@lunacycle.com

          Hello,

I was hoping to order one of the BBSxx mid-drive kits and install it on an older mountain bike I have, but am not sure if the motor will work with the bike's bottom bracket, which is an ISIS. Based on this, my guess is no, but I haven't been able to find any discussion that lists ISIS in the same context as other types that are listed in that post (JIS, BSA, etc.), so I wanted to make sure before I dismissed the idea. Thanks!

The way I understand it the ISIS part is just how the pedals are attached as opposed to the square taper which is more common. What you are looking for is the proper diameter hole in the BB for the motor to slide into. The ID of most bottom brackets is 33.6-33.9 mm. The width of the BB varies and will determine which BBSXX you will buy.

To make absolutely sure remove the cartridge from your BB and measure the ID. Some good info on different BB's here.

Thanks for the reply; thats makes sense.

          Good morning folks.
I have a fat bike powered by a Fat bike Geared motor (https://lunacycle.com/48-52v-750w-ge...or-rear-wheel/) that is showing Error Code 21... I tried replacing the controller and a display but still have the error code 21 showing up. According to Bafang its an external speed sensor fault, however this motor does not have an external speed sensor.. Im at a loss. What do you think the issue is here?? and how do I fix it?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
          Sincerely,
          Sam

Is it shutting down? Which display are you using it with? Have you visually inspected all of the pins and cabling to make sure nothing is bent or cut or crushed, especially the cabling as it exits the axle of the motor

Hi Eric, Mate, can the BBSHD be used with a TDCM bottom bracket torque sensor, a V3 Cycle Analyst and mighty mini 30T. I would like to set one up for towing a heavy trailer. Ta. Al.

Thanks for that. Is there any likelyhood of Bafang bringing out a torque sensor for the BBSxx at all. Are any of the BBSxx series able to be used with a torque sensor? Do you have any suggestions if not? Thanks.

You would have to ask Bafang, I don't know. It would require a total redesign.

I own a Luna "grit" Ebike. I want to move the BBSHD to another bike. My question is which size does that bike come with? (Bottom bracket)

for the BBSHD itself if you look on the bottom of the motor it has a sticker with what size it is so you can confirm: Click image for larger version Name:	2017-09-07 21_19_43-My Drive - Google Drive.png Views:	1 Size:	1.12 MB ID:	44707

So first of all let me tell you that i have the fully suspended Giant Stance with a 52v and I LOVE IT!!!! The batteries never seem to last as long as they should and as a heavier guy I would love to consider getting a bigger battery.. yes we all think size matters!! ;-).... Is it possible to fit a larger battery in the shark form factor? Thanks a ton

Not really, maybe in a year or two from now. The individual cells inside the case are responsible for the capacity and we currently use Panasonic GA cells rated at 3500mah each which have the highest capacity per cell than most other 18650's. Most vendors already cram as much capacity into the packs as they can. When 21700 cells start hitting the market, you may see a small jump in capacity for Shark Packs and other batteries.

I recommend checking out this PBS documentary on modern day batteries. It's a bit corny but it gives you great insight into what to expect in the next couple of years

Cmeilan 5x Rear Bicycle Light. Plug in to charge and all the light settings flash rapidly simultaneously instead of a slow steady flash. Don't know if it's charging.

What happens if you leave it plugged in overnight? Does it seem to be fully charged?

One possible experiment is to run down the battery until dead or dim, and then try an overnight charge.

My new 52v Luna mini charger doesn't seem to be working. Both LED's flash when plugged in. Both LED's remain solid when not connected to battery. It does not shut off after 3 minutes. Adapter tested good. Fan does not turn it just continually clicks. Multimeter reads 0 when tested.
