i just ordered my second Luna Charger 52V Advanced 300W Ebike Charger. (Order #85403)
This time, it has a Male XT-60 connector and doesn't work with any of my previous purchases.

As far as I know, they have all come with XT60 males for quite awhile now. The connectors can be pretty much subject to change at any point though but we've kept with the Males for quite awhile now for ease of Plug N Play with the Wolf packs.

Well, I sure wish they would have said something about this on the website.
Besides it seeming dangerous to me to provide power to male connectors,
I don't even see anything available on your site to let me use this charger with my shark battery pack.

Hi, I'm a newb and posted a question here: https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...-the-chainstay

Do you want me to repost here or is the link sufficient?

    Thanks.

As tight as you can, seriously, don't be afraid to go too hard on it.

Ok, I'll slip a 10' section of pipe over the wrench and reef the crap out of it!!! :D

I have a 52v 17.5AH battery with a 40 amp BMS. Does Luna sell a version of BBSHD that will allow the max current to be set to 40 amp instead of 30?

There's the ludicrous controller if that's what you mean.

can the BBSHD with standard controller be set to use a 52 Volt batter at 30 Amps or is 28 Amps the maximum at 52 Volts?

I think it depends where you got it, there was a firmware version that was at 28A but 30A is the actual max.

If you already generated an order number and the order does not include anything custom like a wheelbuild then sure.

What I meant to ask was, can the Luna version of BBSHD use a 52V battery and be set to 30 amp max current or is it limited to 28 amps with a 52 Volt battery like the others?

Luna bbshd is not limited to 28A. It is 30A.

Yeah, as far as I know, they're all limited to 30 amp max already by default. If it's not a Luna motor, it may be limited to 28 instead by original seller.

Can I retrofit a stock Bafang M600 with Luna's Ludicrous controller?

      Don't think this is possible.

Why not? Is there more to it than swapping the controller? Does it need a different display? Battery? Housing? Cabling?

The controllers have to be tuned specifically for the motor they are installed onto. It is very complicated and requires proprietary software as well as custom firmware.

Hello, just wanted to confirm some things with the 48V 13.5 ah with the standard 3a charger.
    • I should see 54.6V for 100% charged battery? Will the batteries balance if it's at 54.0V?
    • When the charger hits 100% and it cycles between green and red, do I unplug the charger and let it balance itself or is it ok to let it cycle until i get a solid green at 100%?
    • Is the charger fan and led cycling because it is now in constant voltage mode rather than constant current mode?
    • Will the battery balance if the battery switch is on or off?

    Thanks!

54.6 is an estimate for a fully charged battery, it may vary depending on the cell makeup, number of cycles and the treatment of the battery.
Whether the battery does balancing at less than the theoretical 100% depends on the bms built into the battery, making sweeping generalizations about all batteries on the market is not recommended.
Yes if the charger fan and led is cycling you should leave it until it is finished if you want it to balance and/or get to that last bit of charging. That is part of the CC/CV cycle.

I have the Luna Wolf 52v Ebike Battery, which up until today has been attached to my bike using the supplied magnetic mounting. Today one of the mounts finally gave out and broke off the bike as I was removing my battery, revealing a cracked hole in the frame where it used to be mounted.

I visited a local bike shop and they weren't willing to drill a new hole into the frame to reattach the old mounts.

Has anyone else experienced this / does anyone have a good idea how to re-attach the battery to the bike? I have a cargo rack I could also use, thinking of using some elastic straps. I want to keep the ability of removing the battery without excessive effort.

We have a kit that lets you create a new mount hole without drilling. It is not listed yet but if you want to email support@lunacyle.com attn: Gary regarding special ordering an easy mod battery mount kit, we can hook you up.

I enlarged your photo of the damage and counted at least 7 cracks radiating from the center. If that were my bike I would consider the frame compromised and unrideable. Time to find a new frame or good used bike and transfer the motor kit. I would speculate that your local bike shop considered this in their decision to not drill a new hole.

Rode bike yesterday without issue. Removed the Luna Wolf battery to charge it. After charging, put battery back on bike, connected it, and nothing turns on. Have no idea why as I did nothing unusual. Connected battery to charger to make sure it was fully charged and it still nothing turns on.

Paxtana - thanks for the time taken in responding to my questions. One final - a friend had a second LCD display, and we attached it. Unfortunately, it did not turn on either, and the batteries are fully charged. Is the next step re-programming? I ask before contacting a bike shop as we can take a stab at re-programming before going to bike shop. Thanks

I don't think re-programming is gonna help here. You may be looking at a controller replacement or maybe the connector needs to be replaced.

HighVoltage - is that something a bike shop could fix such as the one Paxtana suggested?
