My controller Grin Tech Phaserinner is set up with a battery A and B via the Cycle Analyst and ti pulls 50 amps on Battery b RCLIPO 66v but when I change the setting to battery A 14S 52volt LUNA WOLF PACK I barely get 600 watts out with the smae setting the max AMp is 14.66 so the setup is right the battery must be doing something internally limiting the current. is there a way to check the BMS on the unit or do I have to send back to Luna?

One more question. When I have the bike in maybe the highest 2 gears if I hit only the throttle and not pedal it seems that it gets jerky, I am guessing the chain is jumping on that small rear sprocket? Is this normal? Is there a fix other than so not put that much torque on it, start pedaling then slowly add throttle?

It would be difficult to pin down whether or not it is something relating to the drivetrain or something else without seeing what's going on. If your battery is very low state of charge you might see that sort of thing since you would be putting quite a load on it and it might be dipping down to near Lvc. you might try putting it on a stand and disabling any e-brakes you have and hitting throttle while applying the brake to the rear wheel to see up close what the drive train is doing.

A clutch derailleur if you have one can minimize this in my experience but not eliminate it. I notice if I forget to turn the clutch back on I get this.
Also if I'm in to high a gear for the torque being applied. For instance if I'm in high gear on level ground and come to a slight incline I may experience this.
Not saying this is your deal but could be.
Also some dont realise the throttle adds full torque to your drive train. More torque than you are in PAS no matter what mode you have it set on unless you're set at max PAS levels.
If it's doing it everytime your in those high gears they could be worn or need to be adjusted. But if you notice it only happens when you really put the torque to it down shift and work your way back up to them when they arent under so much torque.
Im not a bike mechanic just another user so take the advice as it was given Free & with Good Intent.

Really depends on what you mean by XLR, there are batteries out there that are similar to XLR or mini XLR but are not in fact the same connector. If you have the capability and the inclination you could probably modify the battery so it has a matching connector with the XT60 on the charger.

Sort of. We sell xt60 pigtails sets https://lunacycle.com/xt60-set-conne...with-pigtails/
It would be up to you to do the modification. We sell solder sleeves if you need to make that connection easily, but if you need to cut a case open or add silicone that's going to be custom and DIY depending on the pack. For example here a guy did this on a shark
I would recommend putting female xt60 on the battery side rather than male, but the principle is the same.

I did contact support twice but have not gotten a real answer outside of asking for order # I purchased from Electric spokes in NJ 5/25 sent the invoice to them BTW Im in NYC its 50 degrees today temp on motor is 39 C while running no freeze issues and the connection is fine for the other batteries so maybe inside the LUNA WOLF BATTERY but that is beyond me. The connection are all fine I would not get 50 AMPS through them on the other battery if there was a problem it would be present in both battery systems

If you are in NYC we do have one of our employees (Tony) working remote out of brooklyn you could drop it off with so he can test it personally on his own equipment, but I can tell you right now the battery does not have any sort of current limiting capabilities outside of a straightforward overcurrent shutoff which would cut power entirely rather than simply restricting it.

That would be great I did not think the batter would limit it but Im still flustered as why I get turbine power out the LIPOS and gerbil power out of a 52volt Batt same set up I have two bikes exact same setup and same results on both so connection is out. Where in Brooklyn is tony working I can head over when he is free thanks for the help BTW does he have a wolf pack to swap out and try to see if its the battery

Hi,
The controller on my Bafang BBHSD keeps turning off while riding. This is a new setup, only 20 miles on it. Battery is fully charged, battery level indicator is in the green. The controller will turn within a few seconds of being turned on. Usually after the 3rd or 4th try I can get it to stay on for up to 60 seconds, but it will shut off randomly every 5 to 30 seconds after being turned on. It shut off 10 times during a 5 minute period last night. Is the controller bad already? I've babied it so far and live in Florida where there are no hills. I've checked the connections and all look good, with no sign of wear. Please help.
Matt

Check the connectors between and the battery and motor and make sure they're tight, secured and in good condition. Make sure all the wires are good too, no crimps or places where you think there might be a severed connection. Then check the voltage on the battery. Make sure it's actually fully charged with a multi-meter measurement.
If that doesn't work, you'll wanna email the place you got it from.
Oh and obvious one but check the display settings to make sure Auto-Off isn't enabled.

Hi guys couple of questions regarding this bike.
1) How long does the battery take to charge full from empty?
2) How many miles does the battery last if you have a LUDI version?
3) Given that the Ludi version supplies more torque... I was wondering how useful this really is? Is the Regular version not good enough for hills? What I am trying to find out is how much or in which situations would the Ludi version excel from the non ludi option and by how much. Because the regular version would get considerable more range given half the current draw.

couple battery questions. So I ended up with a 52 volt generic china battery for my bbhsd, mainly because it was for my son's bike which got stolen so it was sitting around. I figured if I really like the bike I could buy one of yours in a month or so when more funds are available. Anyway, first off what is the standing voltage on a 52v battery that I have to stop and recharge? 2nd. I took it for a test today after switching a few things, battery was at 54v resting. Wide open throttle dropped it to 49v. Is that ok or is the battery very inadequate for my use? 3rd. You have two packs for me the wolf and the shark. What is the real difference between the two. My current one is the same housing as the shark. Is the Wolf only held on by magnets? I know these are alot of questions but please answer them as they will shape the future of what I am going to buy. I am also considering a pup pack. since my main focus is mtb trails and I honestly only want the e power for a number of hills most of the time I am thinking it might be a neat way to go especially with the difference in weight.

Standing voltage when you have to call it quits and recharge? That depends, for me it's 47v but if you wanna play it a bit dangerously, you might get away with a bit lower.
49v drop from 54v is somewhat normal, especially if the battery is used.
For the pack difference. The Wolf is better in every way and improves a lot of the faults and problems with the Shark Pack. The magnets + straps/zip ties is really the best and most durable setup.

Hi All, I ordered a Sur Ron 11/14/19 on the pre order option. I noticed my order/account has changed to "awaiting fulfillment", does that mean my bike is in stock and going to ship soon? ( I realize you have promised to ship by 11/30/19 in your ad, but the change in the account got me curious, lol. (just like a 6 year old kid waiting for Santa) Thanks

Hello,
I want to buy sur ron x bike, but I'm 191cm and I understand that it is not like classic bike riding but I'm little afraid that can be problem for me to ride that size of bike. Is somewhere here somebody with similar height with experience with bike of this size?
Thanks
Milan

It's going to be on the small side, that's kind of what it was designed to be originally. I think Sur-Ron will be releasing a larger full sized bike in the future? You can google "Sur Ron Boom Bee" to get a look.
-
You can mod it to move the seat back, raise the seat, put different angled stem or even riser handlebars. Given all that, if you are a tall guy and a little handy you can make it work for your size, if needed. That's what a good portion of folks do.
