soo today was my first real ride on my dirt trails. I had changed the controller to offer 9 levels of PAS. I ended up using level 2, and giving a slight bit of throttle when I hit hills. Worked great. Itried level 5 but I found that as cadence increased the motor would end up being too much and the pedal feel would be too soft. is there a way to program this thing so that the power drops as cadence rises?

I’m installing a BBSHD mid drive kit on my bike. I feel like I did everything correctly but motor doesn’t work yet. I have the Luna 860c display and there is a flashing red exclamation mark on it. What does this mean? Is there a setting for me to find out? Thanks.

(!) This is comes up when the ebrakes are engaged. It may also come up when using the gearsensor, or if the ebrake/gearsensor plug is being short-circuited. Unplug the brakes, unplug the gearsensor, check the pins on the plugs to make sure there's nothing being shorted. Often this can happen just from the brakes being improperly installed.

I have ordered a Sur Ron x bike (black edition) a month and half almost 2 months ago and was supposed to receive it today via USPS. Unfortunately after spending a few thousand dollars on it, all I received was a small blur rubber item with the same order number... quite honestly I feel conned and would very much like either the item I have payed and ordered or my money back.... what should I do?

Given that there are no orders in our system linked to the email you are using (deadlyattraction@xxxxxxxxx) and Luna does not ship bikes via USPS (Surron is shipped Fedex Freight as noted directly on the Surron listing) it does not sound like you bought this bike from Luna.
You should file a chargeback on the payment method. Depending on your payment method this means going to the website for your bank account that owns the card and clicking a link that says something along the lines of "dispute a transaction", "resolution center", "file chargeback" etc. You can use this link for specific instructions relating to whatever payment method you used: https://www.howtogeek.com/362660/how...ur-money-back/
In the future you may want to take care to order from lunacycle.com if you are going to try placing an order with a legit company for this item. We are the exclusive dealers for this product in the USA, and we do not do business with the fake storefronts that have recently popped up on Facebook advertising this product for a fraction of retail price and using intellectual property stolen from LunaCycle.
We have seen these many times over the past few months. They use sponsored Facebook posts pointing to temporary fake Shopify storefronts to take orders. Hearing from the few people that have actually ordered through those fake sites, they take a multi-pronged approach to this scam. Some people do not file a chargeback and in those instances the scammers keep the money. Recently we have also been seeing these scammers send random stuff from China like a potato peeler, presumably because having a tracking number makes it harder for their victims to contest the charge with their credit card company. In other instances they seem to be selling the credit card numbers of people who order so they can profit from the folks that do get their money back. In either instance they shut down the site after a week or two and start another one to continue the scam by using url shorteners in the facebook ads to point to the new scam site.
If you have the URL of the site you ordered from and/or how the payment showed up within your bank account that would be helpful so we can get it taken down as those scammers are also infringing on our intellectual property to run these scams. Seems like they are mostly using Shopify accounts to do so, odds are that is part of the URL if you have it. For example these are some of the many scam websites we have had taken down via DMCA:
These have all been taken down but you can probably see a cache of them via internet archive's wayback machine or via a google cache for the page, they all have the same operation. Random URL letters, stolen content from various companies for every listing, and prices that are too good to be true.

soo, 52v battery, what is the reccomended point to stop and recharge voltage wise? Resting voltage and under load? (your PUP pack) Also, I have a real good e-battery charger that I use with my electric airplanes, any reason I could not use it? From Paxtana this is high praise. Even our own industry confuses us. What is the atmospheric pressure applied when using “Turbo” on my ebike? How is compressed air helping my electric motor? What is next, a Nitrous setting?
Here is the rest of my battery diatribe:
The choice of cells is very important. The FIRST question is: can it supply the instant power the motor is possible of asking for. My smallest is 14s2p of Samsung 30Q cells. Each cell is rated at 15 amps max draw and with two cells in parallel can do 30 amp motors. The BMS is rated at 30 amp. A stock BBSHD demands 30 amps from the battery. This has every part of the battery working at it's limit.
Not only does the small battery pushed hard sag more under load, the battery will not last long. However the gains in weight and size are worth it for me. Before buying carbon bicycle parts, look at the tons of weight you can save by right sizing your battery.
On the other end I have a 14s7p of Panasonic GA cells. Each cell is rated at 10 amps. 10 times 7 is 70 amps that can be pulled from the battery. Pulling 30 amps, or even 50 amps, does not make the cells work too hard and it has lasted forever.. However I have no need for the extra power or range from the battery so I am dragging around 10 lbs I don't need.
The best balance for my trails and physical condition is 14s5p of Panasonic GA cells. 30 amps can be drawn but with less sag of my smaller batteries. It is about twice as big, but goes 4 times further. The closer comparison is my battery which is 14s4p of 30Q. It will deliver the amps with fewer cells and less weight. Now things are close, and only now, do we look at the range of the cells, 3000 vs. 3450 for the GA. The difference of 450 is timed by the 4 in parallel plus one more row in parallel equals another 3450. That is 5.25 amp hours more! With less sag and higher amp hour rating, this 14s5p of GA cells goes much further, only a couple of pounds heavier, and still delivers the power needed.
Your mileage may vary is the comment most appropriate at this point.
A car may be rated at 35 mpg, 30 city. Electric energy consumption is so dependent on use my bike would be rated at 200 mpg normal, 5 mpg when ridden like a hooligan. It is this great discrepancy that makes me roll my eyes when asked how far my bike will go. (and because I am a hooligan I have no idea of the max range.)
With a gas engine one gets better mileage by going slower. However there is a point of diminishing returns. Usually going slower than 40 mph reduces the range. However with the electric bike the slower I go the further it goes. I suppose the only point of diminishing return would be 1 mph vs. 0 mph.
The temperature of gasoline has little effect, however a battery is severely hampered by cold. One reads about range being reduced, but what I find the real killer is the battery sags much more. The two combined are not good. I read it is also bad for the life of the battery. Cold weather doesn't ruin the gas tank of a normal car.
In conclusion we need to learn about the care and feeding of LiOn batteries.
My bike experience paid off when I went to buy a Chevy Bolt. Without battery heaters it would die an early death. Even the dealer selling in my frigid area had no idea. LiOn will be with us for a while so it is worth the education.

The Pup Pack is new to me. Just glancing at the numbers, the mighty mini delivers the same power but goes further and weighs less. Of course no comparison in construction of the pack or cells, but the math surprised me.
So the question is: what is the sag at 48 volts of both packs? (take your time, no 24 hour panic here.)
I have these cells in a skateboard and I think they sag less, but don't have any instrumentation on the skateboard. This could be an example of the smaller rated pack going further than the higher rated pack because of sag.

Hi! I've just purchased a Workcycles FR8 with the intention of adding e-assist to it. Sadly, one cannot import it electified... Anyway, they engineered it to be ready for conversion, and they recommend the Bafang BBS02 for converting it and provide instructions. I am curious whether you have sold kits intended for this particular model before? Or can work with me to make sure it has the right specs? I'm pretty nervous about modifying my brand new bike! I will mostly be using it to transport kids and daily cargo for 2-10 miles per day in a moderately hilly city. Thank you, Michelle

Also a question about the BBS02 - is it pedal activated? I can't tell from the descriptions. As a long time bicycle commuter, I'm much more comfortable with pedal activated pedal assist, and with power that is modulated by torque rather than on/off...

The BBS02 should be the same across all vendors. So ours should work the same as any other. The kit will include everything you need and if there's anything extra, you can always order it online at a later date. No need to be nervous. It's all just in your head and you're most likely overthinking how difficult it will be.
And yes, the BBS02 is both Pedal Activated and Throttle Activated. You get to choose between the option of either while you're riding. However it is a cadence based pedal system so there is no torque sensor involved. It's unlikely you're going to be able to find a torque assist kit that is going to be newbie/beginner friendly though. You may wanna consider a pre-built bike with a torque sensor assist built in rather than going the kit if you really want that torque assist.

I just replaced the motor core on my BBSHD as a large scale attempt to fix an error code 08. I was getting no PAS, throttle when I turned the bike on but that would usually go after a few minutes as well. Test ride today, throttle right when i turned on, then no PAS or throttle, and little engine error symbol and code 08 hall sensor "controller reporting," which I don't think was there before replacement. So likely something the controller, but I have two issues: i'm moving in three weeks and barely had time to do this repair, and I can't find a version A controller anywhere on the internet. Do you know simpler troubleshooting or know when Luna might be be getting a replacement, or know if it's feasible to cut and rewire the phase wires to spades or andersons?

Double check to make sure all the connectors in there were tightly plugged together

I will check that, and I've got a new form tab open looking at this deeper. I would like to replace the controller, but cannot find the older version A anywhere. Is the new version compatible if I can swap the phase wire connectors to anderson or spades?

I have two questions for this forum. The first is part availability, I have noticed that things like the extended fenders foot pegs etc are not available right now. I am serious about purchasing The sur Ron x however I'm sure that things will break because I do intend to use this both on and off road for hunting fishing recreation as well as just a little bit of hard trail riding. The second question that I have is due to the fact that on road and hunting are both things that I would like to enjoy with this electric vehicle. I would love to have the belt option due to its quietness when out on the trail as to not spook wildlife or to bother other hunters. I know that it is mostly intended for the supermoto kit but I need the dirt tires. Will this gear ratio give me a hard time? or would that still be a smart choice to have added and if so considering that I am a pretty handy guy how difficult is the install? I watch a video that said it was extremely difficult and required cutting into the frame etc if there's possibly a video that shows how to install that I would love to be pointed in that's direction thank you so much for your time

There's a guide on the belt kit listing. No you don't want it with street tires, that gearing would be lugging it, you would have no torque and kill your range.
Parts availability should be fine, stuff goes in and out of stock often but worst case there are other dealers in other countries that can ship a foot peg or whatever it is you need

What's the easiest way to tie the front brake levers together on a tadpole? I want each lever to operate both wheels. I put a splitter on the right side which controls both wheels but find I want the left side lever to do the same thing.

If I understand what your saying this "tadpole" is a recumbent trike the 2 wheels in the front. Guessing that you have hydraulic brakes since you used a splitter.
I'm thinking to do what you asked you would need another splitter like you already figured. But then you would also need a way to feed one line from each splitter to each brake. So either some type of duel inlet port into each brake or a Y splitter that combines 1 line from each splitter into 1 line feeding into the brake.
The problem that comes to mind is that if you hit both brakes at the same time this may cause more pressure in the system than it might be able to handle. I'm not sure if that's an issue or not. But I would stop at a Local Bike Shop and run it by them and they should be able to give you a better answer. I'm just giving you an educated guess on the solution.
