PAS only don`t have throttle, both controllers are programmed with your black box and they are both original controllers set to 30A.Yes both tested with the same battery level. No speed limits are set.

I have a Bafang motor that was running fine and then just seized up. The pedals will not crank at all. The bike only has 1,400 miles on it. The only numbers that I can pull of the motor are CR R209 750. I can not find anything on your website about this part number. I need to know what I need to do to get this motor running again whether it is a core motor replacement or something different. Please help. Thanks

Start by cracking it open and seeing which part is specifically seized. It could be just the clutch or it could be the main gear or even the Nylon Gear. All of which are easily replaceable.
This tutorial is to do maintenance on the BBSHD

You better don't take any chances and order a paper gasket they break very easily, Click here. (https://lunacycle.com/parts/bafang-parts/bbshd-parts/gasket-for-main-steel-gear-bbshd/)

Tools needed:
You will need a small blade

Will try to get a throttle and try it ,yes all percentage levels are the same on both controllers. Why is the battery icon on the screen showing depletion at a high battery voltage with the Luna controller, that has never happened on any other bike i have built as they always show full until nearly empty,it isn`t the screen that is faulty because both screens do it with the Luna controller.

Well one thing should be noted here. The display does not accurately show battery level through the % gauge. None of the displays have ever done this properly or reliably. You should be switching it to voltage in the settings of the display and then using the voltage number to read both batteries to make sure they are equal. There's a voltage chart at this link here:

Yes i do use voltage not percentage,as an example the voltage will show 56v stationary after a short ride and the green battery icon at the side of it will show slight depletion, this has only ever happened with the Luna bought controller never on any other bike and i have built four BBSHD bikes in the last four years.

The green battery icon is not accurate with 52v batteries which is what I'm trying to say. It was designed for 48v in mind which is why your previous builds may have been different (assuming they were 48v) You can just ignore it and not factor it into anything. Just focus on the 56v which his about 80% battery or so roughly using this chart here:

First time ebike builder. I want to make sure I get the right size Bafang HD kit. My bike is a 2008 Rocky Mountain Trailhead. I have the bb already removed. It is 73 mm wide. I believe I should get the 68-73 kit but have read you should go to the next size up? I have included pics.
Thanks.

Could the problem be the motor core ?, or would a bad or poor connection between the battery and the controller be the problem, would these cause the loss of power i am having.

You can check for that stuff physically but without ruling out the throttle only mode, it's practically impossible to say. I mean you did say it only happened when you switched controllers which should rule out everything else but a programming error.
Maybe email support@lunacycle.com with a video showing us how you're using the BlackBox to program it just so we can verify it's all being used and saved correctly. Sometimes these programs are a bit finicky and you may have to hit the save button more than once.
Also cannot rule out the possibility of the BlackBox not saving/reading the settings correctly. So maybe pick up a programming cable and do it the manual way? We have a guide for this here:
This is an introductory guide to using the programming cable and the Bafang Config Tool to change the options of the controller for your Bafang mid-drive motor, so we won't be going in-depth about any other tab but the Basic tab. If you own a Bafang mid-drive motor you may want to change a thing or two in the controller
And also, just to be 100% sure, this is not a Ludicrous controller from the Black Friday sale, correct? Just a regular BBSHD controller? Cause if it's Ludicrous, that would be the reason it's happening because you're outputting double the wattage despite what the display says which is just normal behavior.Last edited by HIGHVOLTAGE; 12-13-2019, 02:09 PM.
