Im getting an error code 11h on my bbs02b, it kinda hesitates a bit when taking off, but has gone away after turning on and off a couple times. The list shows it is motor over heating or a phantom error. It has only happened when turning on, not after aa ride sot the motor is not hot. any ideas?

I don't think the BBS02 has an actual temperature shut off sensor, so it's possible it could be shutting off for other reasons. Be sure to check if the battery is fully charged and the connectors between are all nicely tight and secure. Also is this a LunaCycle motor? If so, maybe just email support@lunacycle.com for further in-depth troubleshooting

Good morning, new to e-bikes here (as it seems many are). Hoping to get some advice, and more importantly some technical info about a couple bikes that I could not find listed anywhere on the site. I did a bit of google searching, but really just want to verify with someone more knowledgeable before I actually commit to the purchase.
The basics:
- Looking to purchase a bike @ $4000 or less.
- Top 3 choices at the moment are... KHS 3000 Fat Bike, Sixfifty Lone Wolf Hard tail, and the RipCurrent S (which I realize is from another company but the price point is relevant)
- In addition to those 3, I really like the idea of the Sur Ron X... but unfortunately it seems the pedals are not as functional as I would like them to be. (Correct me if I'm wrong on that one.) With the options I've selected on both the KHS 3000 and the Sur Ron X, the prices only differ by about $100. That makes it very difficult to choose the KHS 3000 when I could get so much more power out of the Sur Ron X... but I really would like something that I can use and enjoy with the pedals.
The goal:
- An all around bike that I can use on the street, and off road. I don't intend to get into extreme trails, but the ability to hop up/down a curb, handle rough roads, light trails, etc... is something ideal to be able to handle.
My questions: (apologies in advance if they are blatantly something I overlooked)
- Does the KHS 3000 // Sixfifty Lone Wolf come with both a throttle & pedal assist?
(If so...) - Does the KHS 3000 // Sixfifty Lone Wolf come with either a torque/cadence sensor, or both?
- Does the KHS 3000 // Sixfifty Lone Wolf come with hydraulic brakes?
- When selecting the Ludicrous option, is the upgraded battery included (as there was only 1 battery option available to select from the menu)?
- Does the KHS 3000 come in any other finish? (I love everything about that bike, except for the paint. It's very creative, but it's just not for me personally.)
- Would the Medium size for both KHS 3000 // Sixfifty Lone Wolf be suitable for someone sized 5'10" and 160 lbs?
I will add on more if there's anything I seem to have forgotten, but for now, thank you in advance for the time and assistance.

All BBSHD kitted bikes on the website will have both pedal assist & throttle only modes. Same with Hydraulic Disc Brakes. For the battery option, I think just the one that is listed in the options will be the one included. It is the 30Q option anyway so that's exactly what you're looking for if you plan on going with the Ludicrous version :)
No alternative finishes unfortunately but vinyl wrapping is definitely a thing. Some higher quality bike shops might be able to offer this if you check around.
Medium is good for 5'10. Large would work well too as an alternative but if you prefer to have it more on the smaller size, go with a Medium for sure.Last edited by HIGHVOLTAGE; 02-12-2020, 12:33 PM.

Thanks very much for the reply. I got an email from one of the Luna reps, and he confirmed that if I'm looking for an e-bike that still provides the functionality of a regular bike, the Sur Ron X is not the one haha. So, that's off the list.
I also have thought more, and I don't plan on climbing rocks.. or riding in snow.. or anything like that, so I probably don't need a fat tire.
Looks like I've narrowed down to Lone Wolf Roam and Sixfifty Hardtail, which both have the same power output (with the 30q battery), and are much more friendly to my budget.
I just need to confirm the specs on the PAS & the brakes for those 2 models. Maybe I will give them a call. It's crazy there is so much out there in regards to e-bike reviews/forums/videos... but I can't seem to find anything overly specific to the Roam and the Sixfifty.
Thanks again for the quick reply.

Bafang BBS02 750W 48v Upgraded Controller 3077 Version B - Does this controller fix the Pedal/Throttle Issue?

Got the luna fixed and *so* excited to get it working, but only thing holding me up is some serious front brake vibration. I’ve made sure headset and calipers are tight and aligned as best I can get. Taken it to two LBS, changed pads, and still no luck. Makes me curious about the fact that it’s got separate rotors in front and back...
any suggestions? Once I get this fixed I’m pumped to rep it, cause I seriously love the design.
brake squeal:
some play on front rotor, not sure if this is normal but both LBS seem to think so.

Probably just needs to be bedded in if it is brand new.
Though I suppose I can't rule out contamination on the rotor or the pad, for example from oils if it were touched by bare hands. If you replaced the pad then you could do same on the rotor, even go with a larger rotor if you wanted to

Thanks for the quick reply, will try a new rotor!

Ok for future readers turned out cleaning the rotor once more with isopropyl and re-bedding the brakes worked!

Soo got my bbs02 kit for my wife's bike!!! 1 issue, I thought i ordered the spacer kit but it was not there. Lucky for me I did not need any spacers for the motor, and I actually had some from my bike. But I had ordered a lekie Bling ring and it hits so I either need spacers that I do not have or to swap for the 36 tooth Blingring. Currently I am running the stock Bfang, and the chainline is spot on, all gears work, soo, I am guessing that the spacer for the lekie will make it work perfect however the 36 tooth would really be nice for the hills......
My main problem however may not even be a probelm but I fear it is. I have the 52V 3AMP LUNA MINI CHARGER and when I have either of my batteries reading 52v resting and I throw them on the charger at a 90% charge they only charge for a brief time and turn off. I am cuttently trying with the pup for a full charge and I will see what the resting voltage is when I plug it in my wife's bike. Either way the charger is only like a month or two old. Is there a warrenty on these? Am I better upgrading to the 99 dollar one, what extra stuff will that one do for me?

When I went for full charge it did great, it just does not do correct at 80% or 90% , Also on my wolf Battery I set it to go full charge and when it got close to 57.8v the charger started starting and stopping, the red light and fan would click on for 2 or 3 seconds then click off then click on then off, I let it go like this for a couple of minutes then turned it off. Is this normal?
-
Given the age it can be replaced or if you were looking to upgrade it to the advance that's an option too. There is a guide for fine tuning the final voltage and yes it is normal to click on/off near the end of a charge as it is basically topping off the battery

Missing connector between battery and charger.
I can not figure out how to get these two items to connect. When purchasing I was not shown a connector to purchase so assumed they would include one.:
battery connectors:
charger connector:(I ordered 52v Basic Lithium Charger $30.00 but this has same looking connector)
Please help. This is all I have left and want to ride .....Last edited by lrakwortep; 02-17-2020, 10:55 AM.

Hmmm, either they're going to have to be changed out manually or a custom adapter will have to be made. Email support@lunacycle.com with your order #. If you ordered them together, maybe the shop has an XT60 Male to Barrel Female lying around.

I have an Hase Pino that I would like to add a mid-drive motor to. It has the stoker chain-ring on the left side and I am wondering what motors will be compatible. I would prefer the BBSHD, but worry that the chain ring will hit the larger motor on the BBSHD. What is recommended? Thank you.

The Hase Pino is a semi-recumbent with the stoker in the front. This system has a clamp on child stoker crank way out front. It is not strong enough to support a motor there. I am looking at what motor will fit under the main center crank with clearance for the left chain ring feed from the stoker. Currently the bottom bracket is 68mm BSA thread. The stoker chain ring is 78mm from the drive side of the bottom bracket. How do I determine if that will clear the motor? What is the crank spindle length on the BBS02 and BBSHD?

Hmmm, The motor uses it's own chainring type so you're not going to be able to run the default chainring that feeds into the stoker. It would have to go in the front and replace the entire stoker setup you have and feed into the rear setup. The bottom bracket specs are good though!Last edited by HIGHVOLTAGE; 02-17-2020, 04:22 PM.
