I have a Raleigh Talus Comp 29 with a 73mm Shimano Octalink ES25 bottom bracket. Should I expect any nasty surprises installing a BBSHD ?
    Thanks,
    Mike

you will need the specific BB remover and maybe a large bore crank puller. Bafang sensors for hydraulic brakes. Looks like a good donor bike.

You can probably also just have your local bike shop do the removal of the original bottom bracket for the same price as the tools, if you want to avoid some work and you don't expect to be needing that tool in the future.

I sometimes like to point out that the first bike shop that I tried refused to work on electric bikes. I then tried the bike shop around the corner, and they were fine to work on anything. They did a great job, too.

    Battery fitment question.

I am about to pull the trigger on a frame to start the build up of an Ebike. Planning on using BBSHD with one of your triangle batteries. Here is a pic of the frame with measurements, hoping you can tell me if the

TRIANGLE 52v Panasonic GA 18650 24ah Pack HIGH POWER + LONG RANGE
will fit in the triangle. It’s a little hard to figure since your dimensions have the tips of the triangle cut off. I mocked something up but its pretty close and I don't know how much space the bag will take up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt that battery will fit that frame. Even putting a shark pack in a full suspension frame is often impossible, and that triangle pack is one of the biggest batteries there are.

I don't think so either. I put that battery in a tight aluminum box and it barley fit my 08 turner frame, with the shock upside down. it measures inside, 18' TOP, 21" bot, 11" seattube. I posted a thread here somewhere, about building a box for your big battery. That 24ah GA battery is awesome, get a frame a little bigger. Happy motoring e-rod

    Hey Luna!

I'm considering placeing an order with you guys on the https://lunacycle.com/bafang-bbs02-kit/ . However I live in Norway and we pay tax on all imports, so how will that end up for me? Will you deduct tax or will I need to pay this twice?

The estimate tax/shipping on order page doesn't work here, it complains about no state selected (while it's not possible to choose one)

The estimator is only for USA. We do not charge taxes on international orders. If there are any payments that need made for taxes or customs clearance this would be assessed by your country when clearing customs.
Also if you happen to be ordering a battery with the order, it has to go via ocean freight do to hazmat regulations which takes longer
surron, talaria, sting R mx4, bafang, bbshd,

When will the "Luna Anniversary Sale! $750 BBS02 Mid Drive Kit with Panasonic Lithium Battery" at https://lunacycle.com/bafang-bbs02-kit/ be available? I know you can pre-order, but when will they be shipped out? Also, the link to order now and not wait for the pre-order link doesn't take you to an actual sale page...

Yes LunaCycle is top notch A number 1 in my book. Q: why is it called LC. Sounds like feminine biology

Need to know if this Bafang throttle will work with the OEM sondors fat controller.

This is for a pedal cr project where I'll be using the sodors bottle battery and controller left over from my upgrade.
    Thanks in advance!

      Sorry it will not.

I have a 48v battery and want to upgrade to something bigger. Can I buy an identical 48v battery and run them in parallel to get combined 96v?

You would run two 48V batteries in series to get 96V. If you ran them in parallel, you would double the capacity (Ah) as well as double the ability to output current.

It is doubtful that a controller optimized for 48V will handle 96V. If you are going to raise the voltage to 96V, be sure and get a controller that is optimized for the higher voltage. The fully charged voltage of a 96V battery goes just beyond the specifications for a 4110 FET. You could blow the FETs right out of the gate. My understanding is that someone would choose 4115 FETs for 96V and up.

Yes i plan on upgrading my controller and everything else to accommodate a bigger battery and motor. just didn't want to have to buy a 96v battery when i could just get another 48v battery and run the two identical batteries in series.

If I can up load this correct , can you please tell me what this small wire is for, can be used for, I'm not sure I got this q in the right page, forgive me.

It's for an external volt display if you wish to plug one in.

ive been sent a 2 amp 52v charger, but the battery is a 48v luna shark. Is there a problem?

When a battery is called 48 volts, that is its nominal voltage. In other words 48 volts is half way between fully charged and fully discharged. You have the right charger.

Yeah, 52v battery chargers have 58.8 output

I have already requested to return the brake levers in exchange for the magnetic switches because I discovered my donor bike has hydraulic brakes, but I have another question / issue. I ordered the twist throttle assy, have placed the throttle on my bike and discovered the throttle body is too large for my shifters, unless I move the shifters too far in, making them unreachable. Can I return them and exchange for the thumb throttle even though I have installed the right side?

Thanks all for the feedback on brakes, think I'm going to order the Shimano brakes from Luna, like that idea better than trying to attach magnets to my existing brake levers. Still going to be way under $2k for an awesome bike.

I bought the entire Tektro Dorado set. The brake hoses are attached to the levers and calipers so one doesn't have to add hydraulic fluid.

Looking at https://lunacycle.com/luna-fusion-crusher-3/ - is there a rear or front wheel bike rack that will fit the front or the rear thru axles ?

I saw the Blackburn EX-1 Disk Rack but not sure if that might fit?

Those kinda racks don't work with full suspension frames...

You would need the kind that bolts to the seat tube

Purchased BBS02 Anniversary Kit - loving it! Question (Didn't see an answer for this on formus) - I used the bafang sockets (and locktite) to torque the inner lock ring to 60 nm and the outer lock ring to 30 nm. After about 200 miles I'm noticing squeaking when I pedal (like bb isn't tight). If I grab the motor with my hand and push/pull, I can feel/hear (but not really see) a tiny bit of play. The outer lock ring was still very tight (haven't removed the inner ring but it's not obviously loose). Should I just remove all the lock rings, clean threads, re-apply loc-tite and re-torque or is there something else I'm missing in order to keep it from coming loose again? BBS02 installed on a hybrid road bike with steel frame and 68mm BB.

Check the tightness of your crank screws. They always come loose a couple times and have a telltale squeak when pedaling.

Just to confirm, the 72v 11ah pf battery you sell does not come with a charger, correct. Also, are the leads from the battery 12 or 10 Gauge?

Can someone help me with this, the listing does not state if a charger is or is included or not like every other battery information page. I presume it does not as it is not stated?

Unless explicitly stated the battery does not include a charger and is sold separately.

Quick question: Will the super-big 28ah triangle pack fit on the Alite "S" frame? I was sure of the internal dimensions of the triangle provided by the specs. Please advise. Thanks!

Likely not, no. Otherwise we would usually make it an available option.

      Great! Thanks a bunch.

Could I upgrade from BB02 to BBSHD by just getting a motor core?

I just bought a new controller and was testing it out. I had my bike set up inside without it being assembled. Everything was working perfectly fine. I took the bike outside assembled it and when I turned it on the cycle analyst showed the voltage drop really fast to about 33 or so and then it shut off.

Side notes: 92v battery 96v controller when I went to plug in the USB chord to diagnose the problem I nudged one of the phase wire or battery wires connected to the controller and there was a slight spark. I've been trying to use a multi meter to check the battery but it only shows me 0 on the far left.

    Need help!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
