    Yeah, I didn't see a chainring adapter in their that would fit a 104bcd 30t chainring.

    Is the bolt pattern on the BBSHD the same as the BBS02?

      No, these motors do not have same bolt pattern. We have no 104bcd chainring adapter for bbshd, we do have several 130bcd adapters though. We also have 30t chainrings you would not need an adapter for.

    I think there is something wrong with my rear axel. It makes sounds if it’s tightened properly and no sounds if it’s loose. Pleas watch the video. The video initially plays without the sound unless you click on it again. https://photos.app.goo.gl/6wJmqYS8gfzKj1DF6

      Probably spoke magnet, spoke etc. check everything that is rotating. There is only so many things it can be.

      In this video(you need to click while the video is playing to hear the sound) it shows that sounds appears only when I tightened the rear axel and when I loosen it up sounds disappears. I can’t see how it can be related to the magnet. Can it be a bad ball bearing in the axel?

      When you tighten it you are physically shifting parts such as the chainstay and even the wheel itself. I could easily see how tightening an axle would shift things by a few millimeters. Same reason you can sometimes need to realign a brake caliper if you change how tight you have an axle. Also failed ball bearings do not make rhythmic tinkling sounds, they sound like grinding.

    I have a first generation Luna Wolf battery that I want to use on a full suspension bike with a small triangle.
    It fits, thanks to the clever magnetic mount, but the rear shock lockout lever contacts the decorative aluminum panel, with the moon and wolf head cutouts, that’s riveted to the top of the battery.
    Would I be ok grinding the tops of the rivets off, and removing the decorative panel ?
    The rivets appear to be metal, and I’m concerned that the half of the rivets inside the battery case could potentially fall somewhere that would cause a short.

      Yes that sounds like it should work. The panel is not just decorative though, it is also a bash plate, which may be worth bearing in mind. However the battery is already quite rugged even without it so should be fine. The inside of the battery is all potted so the bits of the rivets would not drop further into the battery.

      I don't know if you considered this but you might also try flipping the shock upside down. Depending on the frame and the shock this can be very handy to get extra space. Here is an example



      Also when swapped less likely to bang against the pack every time you take it on a jump

      I have two Wolf Pup batteries, one is almost 2 years old and the other half it's age. I don't know which is which but I presume the older one is sutting down when it gets down to approximately 50 V. I religiously charge them at 2 Amps to 80% and balance them to 100% every month or so. I just charged to 100% thinking they fell out of balance but the battery shut down again at 51V. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

      Speaking of two batteries. I need more range. Can two Wolfs be slaved together through the power ports? Meaning the secondary pack plugged into the primary pack through the extra power port. That also raises the questions if two Wolf's can be charged together using a Y-cord into their charge ports?

        I don't know the answer to your question, but I put my 2nd one in a Camleback and it takes 2 minutes to swap them.

        I have seen this be answered before.... If you have the V2 that has the 4 ports (2x90 and 2x60's) you can. Charge them separately and only connect them together on the big 90 ports, not the charge ports. If you have the V1 packs Luna sells a Y cable. Ideally the packs are as same as possible in every way, same cells, same age, and same charge. Anything that is different and they can kinda 'fight' each other which can be hard on them and decrease your range. There are some topics here talking more in depth about the pros and cons of dual batteries and using some electronics to combine them so they can't back feed each other. I have considered all of the above but keep coming back to what CC says thinking for when it comes up swapping is just less complex.

        My Guide SRAM rear brake had a sticky pistons on one side. They just would not go back and stay fully extended. I’ve tried to clean it according to parktool’s video on YouTube. Well... one piston popped out and the DOT liquid came out. Do I need to buy a bleeding kit to fix it? The kit is about $70 online. Any suggestions? Thanks

          I just got my new X1 out for its first ride and the motor itself has a grind noise in the lower power levels. The noise is almost constant in PAS 1of5. Its rythmic to the motor RPM in 2of5 (like its rubbing on a high spot inside while turning). I dont notice any grind noise at PAS 3of3 or higher. It sounds like something is rubbing internally. It only occurs when under power from PA and I hear the grinding continue after I stop peddling, but before the motor stops also. So its related to the internals rotating, not the peddling rotation. The bike is ludicrous and silent.

          My plans have changed a bit and the aux battery may be one of the 14s5p packs I built (with BMS from 2900 mah cells) that charges through its power port. Capacities are almost the same so I can't see an issue with leaving it connected to the Wolf pack and charging the Wolf pack through it's charge port thus charging both packs at the same time. I'm wondering if I'm missing something here? Anyone have advanced knowledge in this area? The biggest problem charging separately is partial charges and getting them both to the same charge before reconnecting. No problem if 80, 90 or 100% charge on a Luna charger but that's not always possible.

            You do not want to charge packs in parallel unless you have advanced stuff in line with that like diodes etc. You also do not want to charge the charge port of one battery from another, as that is way higher than the charge rate it should be charged at.             Simply put - I want to charge two batteries in parallel with the one being charged a v2 Wolf pack (on the XT60). Both batteries have BMSs and are connected through the XT90s (the second battery is designed to be charged through XT90). I don't want to charge them separately as there is too much chance of a mismatch and huge current flows upon re-connection not to mention inconvenience and plug/unplug hassles. I want to connect them once and leave them that way. Thanks for the link. It is a good discussion on the topic.

            Sure which is what is great about the BBHSD from Luna. Mine is programmed as a cruise control. My preferred cadence is about 15 mph and I've programmed it so that it brings on power if I drop below that and tapers off the power if I go above that. Love this setting for the long-hauls I like to do.

          An alternative would be a charger that you can lock into a fixed voltage. Check my build thread for my Canondale SuperV. The charger I assembled holds voltage, so I can leave my battery plugged in all day safely. I have watched it hold voltage as my battery balances, then I bumped it up 0.2V at a time. Each time it stopped increasing voltage and held right where I wanted it to. With my charger, each of your packs would be within .01V every charge, at whatever voltage you want.

            Yuba Mundo questions:

            1. What is the length of the BBS02 harness cable -- as measured from the motor to the connector on the other end? I'm building a Yuba Mundo and am trying to decide if I should get an 8" or 15" harness extension cable. I don't want to have an extra 7" to have to tidy up with the 15" if an 8" will suffice.

            2. Does anyone know if the 8" speedo extension cable will suffice for use on a Yuba mundo? That is the only extension length that Luna has in stock, so it's this or nothing (for now with the Port of LA all jammed up =(
