I installed the X controller in my X260, do I need to cut the green wire for speed as on the Sur Ron? I cannot get a bluetooth connection for the X260 app, and it doesnt go over 30mph. Thanks for any insight

It says on the listing "not supported for converting/upgrading any Segway bikes"...
-
But might there be a modification to be made in order to make it work?
-
It does not have a bluetooth module so it would not work with that app. As far as speed, it was built for Surron and not x260, whether that would affect performance is anybody's guess. For all I know it's an x160 or has supermoto wheels, not saying that is the case just saying without knowing bunch of stuff you can't really promise interoperation. As far as the controller itself IF the bike is set up exactly like a surron and the factory designed it in such a way that the x controller would interoperate then maybe you would indeed want to sever or join the green/black wire in the harness as that is the hotrod wire that would function on the surron. Whether it would work same way on the x260, I do not know. Can't really promise anything here unfortunately. Good luck

I have a BBSHD with a 720c display and wolfpack battery. In the two years I've owned it, I've probably only charged the battery 15-20 times. I use little electric on my rides, reserving it for grades and perhaps 2-3 miles on the end of a 12-15 mi ride since it's a very slight elevation. Now, even on a ride like that, with electric just supplementing mostly pedaling, my battery drops from like 80%+ capacity to 75% and just dies. At best, I've seen it get to 72% before dying.
I don't understand why it would display that much voltage available and stop functioning that quickly. Is there some sort of calibration issue? If it is a battery issue, I don't understand how a premium pack like the wolfpack would degrade that fast with so few charge cycles. Has anyone else seen such behavior with the wolfpack? I think it has the Panaonic cells based on my date of purchase (March 2020.)
Last question, if I am forced to replace the battery, does anyone have good suggestions on similar pack that has gone the distance well? I wouldn't trust another wolfpack with the price of battery packs being what they are. Thanks for any help!

So you will be riding and its showing 75% then it suddenly shuts off when say you start up a hill? If that is whats happening that isn't right. I would got to Luna's site and open a ticket. If you can first look up the order number you bought it on, that will help them figure out the batch it came from. They did apparently have some buggy BMS modules. They will likely have you go through some specific tests in a specific sequence and document them on video. If the determine its a defect they will likely offer you some sort of discount on a new pack. Don't go expecting a new pack or anything like that but even if its a buck off that's further ahead than you are now and more than they have to offer at this age.

My Wolfpack did the same thing. The best I coulf figure was that it was heat related. It would die more quickly if I pulled lots of current, or if was very hot outside. After several hours, it would reset, but ultimately I had to replace the battery pack as I had lost all confidence in it. The downside of the potted construction as that there's no way to perform any repairs.
-
Yes, now it is shutting off when showing 75% capacity. It may start at 80%, drop down to 75% or maybe 72% and shuts down. Doesn't matter whether I'm on hill or flat. I charged it last week and it "fully charged" in about 30-45 minutes, so I know it is no longer taking a full charge. That is what I am wondering though -- is it really at 75% when I start charging and if so, where is the other 50% of charged battery capacity I should have available to me before it shuts down. What concerns me is that it may not be the battery and the controller itself and if I replace the battery, it could do the same thing with a new one.
BTW, I actually have Samsung cells, not Panasonic.
I will try working with Luna support. I find they haven't been very responsive in the past and If find that again, I'm done with them.

Need to know why I now have a non-working LUNA X-2 with ERROR 08 on the screen after trying a "simple" amp setting adjustment to resolve the BMS issue. So frustrated!

Sounds like offset angle may have gotten reset. Check out page 5 of the ludi manual https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...ort?format=pdf

Luna stealth, over 3,000 miles, whenever I try to use motor lt makes a noise, something like gears not aligned, with motor on but set on no assist it works fine. Is it some parts I can replace or the whole motor?

Wow that's a lot of miles. I would open it up, check the gearbox https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...d-stealth-bike

OK, easy enough, Esther anything specific how to check the gearbox, seems sealed from your images?

True it is not so easy. Tell you what, first thing to do is probably to get the grinding on video, our technician would like to hear it. Typically if the gearbox is failed it would not actually work at all. Please shoot a short video of the grinding and email it to support@lunacycle.com attn:seb

Hi,
I would like to ask about my Luna Bbshd with ludicrous controller.
I ordered 2 kits and in my case there is something strange. When I ride I can feel on the pedals, especially on the faster gear and while riding faster, vibration and that movement of the engine. It is hard to describe. It can be also heard.
On my friend bike with the same engine there is no problem like that. It is almost smooth. We have almost the same bikes.
From the beginning as I remember when I rotate pedals by hands while the bike was off and without the chain on the chainring my Bbshd was warking louder. I put more grease into it but it did not help.
Any idea where can be the problem?
I think because I have known this engine for 5 years now that maybe the rotor with the stator is qorking not so smooth inside and it can make those vibrations.
Overwhole, bbshd with ludicrous is just amazing. This is engine that I was dreaming. Thanks a lot

Unloaded bbshd is always louder but if you were comparing it to a similarly unloaded bbshd I suppose that would be a valid comparison.
Could be a damaged secondary reduction gear, or the primary, maybe the pinion or even the helical shaft on the rotor itself. If it has worked fine for five years I do not necessarily know if I would mess with it unless it is super loud, but you could always do a teardown and inspect the parts. If it is grinding badly for years then the source of the damage should be obvious. The only exception to this being if it is not actually in the motor at all and it is actually the pawls in your rear hub that are failing. I have seen that sometimes, even on one of my own bikes, especially if it is a cheaper hub like a shimano deore.
-
I meant that I know Bbshd for 5 years but regular Bbshd, not yours with ludicrous. So on your engine I have ridden not even whole year. There is no teardown
That is for sure not rear hub because when this strange vibration occurs and I turn the screen off, vibrations stop immediately. So it is for sure engine.
And that is not matter of high loudness. Otherwise Bbshd with ludicrous controller is just slightly louder.
The matter is of this vibration which you can feel on pedals and hear.
Is it possible that the main rotor is wiping inside housing of the rotor?
-
Maybe, anywhere you have moving parts it will wear out eventually. The rotor is not usually the part that will wear out first though. Usually only time the rotor fails, it is a catastrophic failure where the whole helical portion snaps off and you would get grinding sound but no motor movement.
Plenty of good info on opening it up for inspection if you would like to do so https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...e-and-greasing

Luna X2 - Ludicrous
I'm trying to get the VESC working. The previous device (a Retroid Pocket 2 Plus retro gaming rig) had issues, so I bought a BLU phone to run it. At first start with the BLU phone it says:
Code:BLE scan BLE scan does not seem to be possible. Make sure that the location service is enabled on your device
It gives a ton of "BLE Errors" but will finally show the controller. Upon connecting (in between random disconnects via "BLE error") the device says "Serialization error" or something to the effect. Deserialization error? Sorry the thing disappears before I can transcribe the full error.
After the error disappears I do appear to "connect" but it will disconnect pretty quickly after. A few times back and forth like this and then it refuses to connect at all.
This is with the phone literally right next to the controller.
Any help would be super appreciated!

There's a connection port on the controller that you could access as well if you want to flash it or something like that, which is probably going to work easier if you are having bluetooth connection problems. This type of connection is described in more detail on the manual https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...ort?format=pdf

I have a newer segway 160 with single crown forks, is there any info on rebuilding these forks? they are very sticky and not doing the job like they use to. Do they use a spring and air? I have taken off both caps, the side which normaly would have a spring, does not allow the plunger to come out, is this nomral?
