Question. I have a Shark battery (48V?) with a Luna controller (720?). The controller doesn’t give me the right percentages of battery life remaining. Is there a controller that does work with the Shark battery?

Not sure what you mean by controller, do you mean display? If so, there is no 720 display but in any case you may be able to go into the settings and change what the display is set for, whether it is 48v nominal or 52v nominal etc.

That said, none of the gauges are very accurate. If your display is capable of showing voltage mode you would be much better off just putting it in voltage mode, and simply learning what voltage corresponds to what percent. This is more accurate because you can take into account additional factors like resting voltage vs voltage under load, whether you are nearing end of state of charge for the pack and thus voltage sag being higher, whether cold temps are factoring in etc

Hey, have a Luna BBS02 that seems to be doing some weird things and I wonder if I have a controller failing? The bike was initially completely dead. Checked battery, connectors and plugged the USB programmer into the controller -- no signs of life. Disconnected all sensors and removed the controller from the motor housing (did not disconnect the controller at this point). Decided to check to see if there was life in the controller again and indeed, the programming tool was able to connect, read and write to flash, so I verified all connectors were secure and put things back together.

On the stand now, the motor powers up fine with no errors. If I run the motor (pedals or throttle), speed will ramp up to roughly 50kph and hold there while I am pedaling or have the throttle depressed. If I stop pedaling, or let go of the throttle, the speed on the display (DPC-18) will then ramp up to 70kph (which is more like what the wheel is actually spinning at) without the motor engaged.

I have swapped out the speed sensor with a brand new one thinking it was faulty and that doesn't change things. I have even modified the top speed on the bike and set it to 30kph but oddly enough the motor will stay engaged way beyond 30kph.

To me this seems to be connections going open within the controller? Any suggestions?

Disregard. Looks like I was chasing a ghost. Once I was able to test drive the bike, everything performed fine. Intermittent failure caused by a bad battery.

Glad you got it figured out

Hi Guys. Hoping someone might be able offer suggestion. My BBSHD is cutting out when riding on low power settings. When I slow down the power kicks back in before cutting out again. I’ve checked all connections and replaced the control cable loom to no avail. So am I looking at replacing the controller unit.?
This bike has done about 20k klm of fault free riding so still a happy camper.

lugging motor in high gear ratio? This perhaps produces heat. Low rpm and high torque demand is not how motor designed. Likes high rpm. Perhaps try a lower gear ratio for slow speed. Spin that motor even to go slow. Especially to climb.

Thanks but no, not a heat or load issue. Bike being ridden at normal high cadence rate.

Try disconnecting your throttle. I chased an intermittent power problem for 2 months before I figured out that the throttle had a short.

I have a LUNA folding bike. Using the thumb throttle there is a quick jump of the bike. I would like to smooth that out. I understand that there is a way to reprogram the system to accomplish that. I don't have that capability. Is there someone in the LA area that can do that for me?

ID:	150147 I have a 68mm BBS-HD 750w motor I bought about 5 years ago for my Mt. bike. It was GREAT! I just bought a cheap 8 speed Amazon adult trike I would like to electrify with this motor. I have a couple of questions: My bottom bracket is 50mm id. x 68mm long. Which of your parts do I need to mount my motor in this bracket? Also, do you think I will have any problem shifting through the gears when you look at the last photo? I welcome any other tips/advice you might have! Thanks!

I mentioned in the post that the inner diameter of the bottom bracket is 50mm. ..

OK. Is there an eccentric BB adapter that will work? I was looking at the American-style eccentric BB to BSA adapter on your site that's out of stock.

Well it depends on the inner diameter. Even the one that we sell is ~51.3. There are others you can find online that are roughly similar which would also provide a 51.3mm adapter, like perhaps this one https://www.ebay.com/p/691354432

But if it is expecting 51.3 and the diameter of your shell is a bit smaller than that it may be a tight fit and could require boring it out. I should also add that I cannot promise fitment with any adapter, even our own, and that this is simply general advice rather than a guarantee.

Hello! I have a Z-1 en route and am very excited. It is an upgrade to a fat tire ebike that I love, but wanted full suspension. I noticed the generic Z-1 frame has a fat tire option. If I wanted to convert the Z-1 to a fat tire, would I need to just change the rear triangle and fork? If this is possible, can Luna help source the wider rear triangle? Thank you!

Sorry that is outside the scope of the services we offer at this time and we have no info on it.

Hello! I am curious if anyone can help answer some of the questions in https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...play-questions. Thanks!

We do not have any info on firmware for it nor advertise it as firmware upgradeable, but as far as using the bike at max PAS that should not be an issue, even at max PAS it is still a relatively low powered bike compared to our other offerings. That said, I would not lug it, but that is true of any mid drive. Regarding the display itself we would have to look into that for you, support was not aware of any display change but it is possible it was changed. We can be emailed at support@lunacycle.com

I have a Luna 3000 watt cyclone with a Luna ASI controller. With everything hooked up and the switch on, I get a voltage reading on the throttle LED screen but no motor rotation when I twist the throttle.
the controller is blinking what is probably a fault code. Can someone point me in the direction of a listing of fault codes?

I just got my Luna Z-1 Enduro. I hate to lay it down every time I need to park it. Is there a kickstand that is made for it?

It is not usually recommended to use kickstands on carbon frames and rare to see them on enduro bikes, since if it drops down while bombing down a steep hill it could seriously injure you. You could use a clickstand though.

I just bought the 2021 sur ron, I have rode it only 4 days, while riding it through a dirt trail, I ride over one small bump and all my sudden the bike loses all power and wouldn’t turn back on for about 20 min, then it turned on long enough for me to get off the trail(maybe 5 minutes) and lost all power again and would not turn back on, battery still above 90%

now it turns off in a few seconds or wont turn on at all. How do I get this fixed

I have a Killer Whale (Panasonic NCRB) 48v 17.5Ah pack, purchased in 2017.

The charge port died, ie physicaphysically broke. Where can I source a replacement switch/usb/charge port parts?

I'm looking at two different bikes to convert to BBS02. The specs say that they both have press fit bottom brackets. The first bike is a 2013 Giant Trance X3. The second bike is a 2015 Giant Stance 27.5 2. They are both great looking bikes, but I want to make sure that I can find a bottom bracket adapter that will fit so that I can install the BBS02. Thanks.

Did you give the search box here a try? I just did a quick look at Trance and Stance and got several hits and some had photos so I assume were finished conversions hopefully with some details. One thread about the Stance seemed to imply that the BB is too wide for the 02 so you would have to do the 100mm HD.

Need to know the name of this piece the small red piece got stuck when trying to connect the charger and the prongs got all bent
