I built a bike for a friend with the BBS02 anniversary kit and 52 V upgrade. His bike is running but the battery won't charge. It is down to 48V by direct testing with voltmeter. I charged it to 100% when I built it and tested it. I swapped chargers and it didn't help. It is behaving as if battery is already charged, including reading 100% on the display. Is this a reset BMS situation?

I would start by charging through discharge yes. Also if using the same adapter, try a different one. Please contact support and ask to speak with Seb for more troubleshooting on this if needed. We will need order# and what you have tried so far.

If multiple chargers don't work it almost sounds like something internal like the charge port is fried but I'll leave that up to Seb.

left my bike in the rain and now it wont go. it will just randomly shut off after 2 seconds to two minutes. i have checked all connections. battery charges and hols a charge...this happened months ago...any ideas ?
i have a bafang hd mid drive

Did you leave your battery pack on your bike in the rain? Sounds like you ruined your battery. What kind of battery is it? Batteries do not mix well with water. Do you have a volt meter to test with? Be sure to store your battery outside your house until you have it properly tested.

The display could be bad and cutting the power. Search on how to bypass the display to rule that out.

its a 48v pf bottle battery. it charges fine. holds a charge. ill dig out my meter but what am i looking for...a different v reading than my charger gives...

and i never take that thing into my house lol thats why it got rained on. i have a good brick shed with electric outlets and everything now.

I ordered the Luna Fusion Crusher 3 - after saving for a bit! Waiting for it to be shipped.

I want to get a 46T or 48T chainring on it. I’m curious if the bigger chainrings might fit as is or will I need to use spacers like this ? https://lunacycle.com/parts/bafang-p...the-bafang-hd/ .

Oakbrother please check out this link for troubleshooting the system:

        Troubleshooting a dead bbsxx unit

To check if it's the battery you can bypass the battery by following the video. Should be able to do this with a couple bits of spare wire regardless of if you have a charger with xt60 output or a standard barrel. If it's barrel check out pic #4 here, this is how you wrap the wires on the barrel to jerry rig it for outputting to the anderson connector on the bbshd

        To load test the battery
I would also check the contacts on the bottle battery itself, there's a chance they got corrosion on them. You can also check the internals of the cradle itself but unscrewing the underside, this link goes into some detail on that https://lunacycle.com/cradle-battery-fix/

And for how to bypass the display, check out this video

I'm looking at the Geared Fat Motor Kit which says it's made for a 175mm dropout. My bike has an advertised 150mm dropout and a 170mm rear hub length. Which number do I look at? How can I tell if I will have enough room for a cassette, and do torque arms occupy some of this space, too?

Anyone have a source for an easy to install rack for
            Sondors X?

You may have better luck trying the Sondors forum. https://sondorsforum.com/

I don't believe anyone in the shop owns or has tested the new Sondors bikes yet for upgradeability.

What are the dropouts in the frame? I am not clear if they are 150 or 170mm. If it were me, I would measure them myself.

There are two ways to go here: (1) try to cram in the motor every time you change a flat, which would probably be frustrating every time, or (2) execute the dropout bending operation (or have an LBS do it) so that your frame is modified to have 175mm dropouts. If it were me, I would choose the latter. I can imagine someone hurting their back trying to spread their stiff dropouts and simultaneously trying to get the motor in there.

Thanks for all the help so far! I'm suuuuuper close to making my order! Can you address my torque arm question from my last post? (sorry I mistakenly referred to them as tension arms initially which probably caused the confusion). Do either of the torque arms allow you to change the tire without having to remove them?

The torque arm locks the axle in place. You cannot change a tire without removing the axle so you would need to remove the torque arm first if changing the tire.
The other option is to use a mid drive like BBSHD, the motor is not in the wheel at all and it is therefore much easier to change the tire.

I have a few questions on the Apex bike:

            1. What is the rear axle type and spacing?
            2. Is the frame capable of accepting 4.8" tire?
            3. Would it be possible to order only the frame with 1500W motor and 28Ah battery? If yes, for how much?

Sorry it's not possible to order the bike without wheels.
I do not believe you would be able to go quite that wide with the frame as it was built for 4".

I need to know how to install the: 3 Speed Adjustable Switch wth Cruise Control

to the 3000w luna mid drive please thanks.

What percentage of mid drives have 3-speed switch capability? Does this include the BBS02 and BBSHD?

Just cyclone. Unfortunately it only limits speed rather than something more useful like current. I would love a switch with three actual power levels, this won't do that it just cuts power at a certain speed.

I have Lyen Mark 2 controllers which allow for a 3-speed switch with 33, 66 and 99% power levels (the default levels). I really like my 3-speed switches. When my battery is low, I toggle it to "low". I would never have the discipline to go so easy on the throttle.

I was to buy the BBSHD motor with a cheap battery on Aliexpress. Would it still work? Cause I'm on a tight budget without a bike. My budget is $1500. I need the kit, bike, and battery...
So would that battery be good enough?

Also, does a battery effect the max speed at all? ex. Would the battery I choose have an impact on the speed compared to a Jumbo Shark battery?
Last question, what is the max speed I would theoretically be able to get with a 48V battery.. would 52V be better?

This thread is for asking Lunacycle technical questions, I would hope you would support the company you are asking for support from..

Anyway no that battery would not work. Like a lot of stuff you find on aliexpress it is built with low quality materials and cannot handle the output a high performance system like bbshd would want. That's why they built the battery with a low current bms, they used cheapo cells that cannot handle good power. Unless you dial down the current you would be tripping the bms constantly.

Even with the current dialed down you would still have a battery with no support, from an unknown overseas supplier with zero liability, made of demonstratably poor quality. Not an ideal situation considering it contains highly flammable lithium cells that could potentially burn your house down if it malfunctions.

Yes the voltage affects max speed. 52 would be faster.

Buying a battery on AliExpress, Alibaba or eBay would be a waste of money.

I don't know, we have no relation to Sondors. It may be some special revision or it could be the same.
