No. Usually, I charge to 56v. Every few months I'll charge to 58.8 to let it balance

I'm not a fan of the 80% charge schemes because they often never allow the pack to balance and/or remain properly balanced. Balancing every few months may not work particularly well with a Satiator if it doesn't restart bulk charging once the BMS has bled off excess voltage form the higher voltage cell groups?

Do you have a basic charger that could be left plugged in for at least 12-24 hours even after the LED turns green? Or, use the low charge current and make sure the Satiator restarts after the BMS re-commences bulk charging? You should be aiming for 58.3-58.8V as a well balanced pack. I suspect the 57.5V is a sign of an imbalanced pack and possibly throwing the PWR fault error? .

I do have one and will try it out. Thanks for all your advise!

I was thinking about getting the eeb frame. Was looking to use a bafang hub motor but the fatbike rear motor is too wide for the dropout. Can I use the https://lunacycle.com/BAFANG-750w-ge...r-front-wheel/
front wheel version as a rear hub?
details: "156mm Dropout width. Can be be used with motors from 135mm, up to 155mm axle width. Spacers can be added to motors with shorter axles to fill the dropout. "
looks like it should work to me, unless i'm missing something important.

You mean use that front on the rear? You wouldn't be able to have a chain on the bike..
If on the front you probably wouldn't want to use it with a suspension fork. Not saying it can't be done just that it might wear out the seals faster. And you would want to measure the dropouts on whatever fork you were going to use it on as well.

Have you checked the doubletorque hub? Maybe that would be a better fit as it's not quite fatbike size.

Is the Ludicrous controller limited to 60 amps? I have been running at 60 amps and today tried to program higher, and it would not accept higher than 60 amps. Error

Yes, it's limited to 60 amps and cannot be pushed any higher.

I have programmed two BBS02's from E-rad. All is good. I now have purchased a BBS02 from Luna. Is the controller different? Do I need to modify to get similar performance? Thanks

    Spacing a lekkie bling ring.

I put the bbso2 original 46t chain ring and now want to upgrade to the lekkie bling ring. The problem i'm having is that the original ring is already too close to the frame of the bike and i have no idea if one 2mm spacer will be sufficient..My question is can i put two of those spacers or is this just a bad idea.

Yes you can double or even triple up those spacers if need be. You will need to source longer bolts though!

I have a 13.5 ga battery52 volt battery and bbs02 that i recently bought from luna. I have an intermittant problem with the display going blank and the motor not working after about two minutes it comes back on. This happens when i am stopped, driving, going slow or fast. I have my second battery an 11.5 pf that will operate the system when this happens.
    ideas? Before i open battery?

First things first, do some standard contact maintenance:

Even if you're not using a shark you definitely want to check those contacts and reinforce the pack to the frame for the best possible connection.

Can you tell me what the advantage/features of the ASI BAC 800 Controller are, as compared to the bluetooth option? Also, I'm assuming its a power issue, but is there a reason this controller in not offered with the 7,500w Cyclone? Looking at buying the 3kw or 7.5kw.

        Comment

Not offered with 7500w cyclone (yet) because it's tricky to get programmed so initial work focuses on the bestsellers.
The ASI doesn't have bluetooth but yes it is much more powerful. Also it is way smaller.

i have checked on contacts, done the velcro. No corrosion or signs of arcing or heat discoloration. Had repaired an anderson with new blade after
the factory fell apart. Wires are split onto two blades. I do not trust the andersons. I will change to xt 60.
Odd thing is, that when it goes off, about two minutes every time and it comes back on. Like this is a timed thing. Other is that it gives enough current to allow display to come on for a moment during the down time.
            Then i will open battery

Hmm.. Does it still do this if you lower the current in the controller?
If you do open the battery check the plug that goes into the BMS board to make sure it is properly plugged in, as well as the usual stuff like checking whether the cells are balanced.

I am trying to build a custom mid-fat hard tail frame for BBSHD and have a couple of questions
            1. I have seen 73MM threaded BSA Bottom brackets- is there something like a 100MM BSA bottom bracket that the BBSHD can fit directly into without any PF adapters or external stuff?
            2. Has anyone built a custom battery holder (on the frame) for the fusion battery from Luna ? I was thinking of getting a 3D printed approach but not sure if that is sturdy enough. May be there's a cage I can put the battery in and fix it to the bottle mounts?

Yes there are 100 mm BSA bottom brackets. The length can vary, BSA just denotes the diameter. Typically the length of a BSA shell is either 68 or 73 or 83 or 100 or 120.

BSA is the only fit really, at least without an adapter. If a shell (like a pressfit) is larger diameter the motor will just fall out.
If you have not already please read the fitment documentation

Paxtana... 566.1 The battery drops out regardless if i am using 5 amps or 25. Problem is not with voltage drop either. Unless it is so quick meter does not see it. 8Will drop out on full charge or 1/2 or 1/4. Temperatute either warm or cold. Never hot.
battery bms connection and balance. Charging sequence indicates proper balance. Hopefully loose bms connection.

A cell could still be out of balance (or even damaged) that's why it would be good to test if you're opening it up.

Have you tried a load test on the pack itself?
Quick way to add a small load to a battery. Take great care not to short out your wiring as you do this. If you do you will need to reset BMS by charging it ...

I will be opening it tomorrow. Thank you very much paxtana. Intermittant problems are difficult to troubleshoot. By the time they can be tested the problem is gone. Ghosts..

Paxtana. I have pulled battery. Last night it passed load test this morning not. Reads 55.6 volts. Cells are 3.8 volts each. Bms plugged in properly. No signs of bad solder connections open heat damaged wires. No visible problem. Just will not provide power with any load.

I just reconnected battery. 56 volts. Turned on display. Ran for three secinds and no voltage stopped working. Other battery works fine. Appears to me bms is faulty. Time to contact customer service? Or possibly still a different problem. Immediately after the battery shuts down i get low voltage out of battery. It slowly builds back to 56. But then does not support load.battery now unusable. Intermittant problem gone. Constant problem.

How do I even charge the battery??? I tried hooking up and nothing happens, fan starts to move then stops. Both lights are on won't change, red and green. I tried plugging in what was already connected and it sparked, hope to God it didn't ruin battery. No instructions what to do. Several connectors don't know what to use. Help please?

Edit: also there's this circuit thing that says LunaCycle and no where to plug or do anything with. I swear if battery fucked up I'm out $770 and will kill myself. The connection burned a little but still connects. Not even sure worth putting motor on now...

Edit 2: There's not even a connection from the battery to the controller? How am I suppose to even use this then? The connector on the battery doesnt match anything on the controller, can't even test to see if anything even works....

You plug in what was already connected BUT you plug charger into wall outlet before plugging into pack.

For connection between pack and controller see the softpack documentation in the knowledge base linked to on the listing. The pack should have come with a matching xt90 taped to it for wiring on to the controller if needed.

Okay so I'm suppose to cut the wire but i need some butt splice to do it. It still doesn't tell me what this is (link to picture below). If it's a BMS what I've been seeing, there's no connection to it from the battery so why would it be included?

That is a voltmeter. Some softpacks have a couple very small wires exiting the pack and ending in a small white plug. If your pack has this wiring it plugs in at this point, if not then you won't have much use for it. Shipping Dept includes it with most softpacks regardless as they are not trained to recognize the difference between packs that can use it and those that can't.

I have a few questions on the Bafang Ultra on the luna website
            1. Is it configured to 1500W - Or is it 1000W with 1500W peak (I am not even sure if this is the right way of putting it)?
            2. I will be building a frame for it - with the bracket from Luna. Should I consider anything else while building the frame?
            3. I would like to put in a larger chainring (48T / 50T) because it is a commuter - I am not sure which raceface chainring should I look for...

This is more a sales question but is there a long lead time for the bafang ultra from Luna ?
            Thanks

Hard to say on the leadtime but probably not. We already have the drives at the warehouse in LA. It might need some sort of last minute programming though.

              1500w is peak.
Make sure the frame is sturdy?
Stock chainring on BBSHD is 46t so that might be a good starting point.

Thanks. I'm taking to Waltly and will ask them to reinforce the frame / make it sturdy.

For the chainring - is there a specific Raceface model I should look for? I counted the cogs on picture posted on The Luna website and it looked like 44T to me.

Thanks for the updates on the front shipping time. Luna frigging nails these things. :)

Question - will a rolhoff hub work with the ludicrous mode? I'm scared about breaking it. It's there a cheaper alternative to the rolhoff that might work?
              Thanks
