I think the throttle has three wires so sounds fairly simple. How about the PAS buttons?
I use my display in a top tube bag. Luna has higo extensions on their website.

Thanks paxtana and New Mariner. I don't necessarily like to splice but when Luna's batteries are fitted with XT-90's and BBS02's with bullet connectors they'res not much choice.

Is Luna Cycle going to be selling the 48 or 52v 17.5ah JUMBO shark packs anymore? I was looking to buy another one.

            Nope. Sorry

Will Luna have the BBS02 left side offset crank arms again?

Yes, though I do not have a specific date on it.

Which would be the best grease to use in the Cyclone planetary gearbox (all metal gears)?

Mobil28 is great stuff, I would give that a shot. It has a proven track record in extensive use on ebikes.

Or maybe SHC 100 if I was feeling adventurous.

          Hi Paxtana, et. al.,

Can you confirm whether the Version B controllers that Luna sells for the BBSHD have connections for lights? If so, I will order one posthaste.

My LBS installed a new controller on my BBSHD to accommodate lights, but it is evidently designed for the BBSO2 with a max Amp output of 25 instead of 30. Now my BBSHD feels just a little anemic.

I've included a photo of the same controller as was installed on my bike. The shorter wires with little clear plastic covers are the connections for the lights. That's what I'm looking for on a 30 Amp controller if such exists. Thanks!

          Hi guys!

In the middle of building my Giant Anthem BBSHD, I’ve got to the stage where I need to fit the Luna BBSHD locking BB adapter: https://lunacycle.com/bbshd-locking-...92-86-5mm-bbs/

I’m not sure how to go about fitting it, should I apply grease, blue loctite and can I use a wooden butt against it to hammer it in?

I am not aware of any special installation instructions for it.

So just ensure the BB is clean and hammer it in?

I don't know if you would need to hammer it in generally. If it won't go straight in there may be an obstruction that needs grinding away with a Dremel, or maybe just twist it in. But ultimately it is up to your best judgement how you use the adapter

Make sure to look for a screw for a bottom cable guide. You may need to back that out to slide the adapter in.

Just a tip. On my BBSHD I had to dremel grind out just a little bit around where the chainstay and downtube met the BB shell as the motor wouldnt fit in. Took about 5 minutes with a $25 harbor freight dremel. took off less than 1/32" I would guess.

Would you guys consider using battery cells used in tesla vehicles (21700)?

          Why or why not?

          Thanks

I think the new Apex battery uses those cells. At least at one point, there was information on the site suggesting that was the plan.

Apex does use 21700 format Samsung cells if that battery option is selected.

          thanks y’all!

EDIT 23 APR 2018: Luna Support sent me a replacement controller and that fixed the issue.

            ORIGINAL:
Just installed the GEARED HUB EBIKE KIT 750W FOR REAR, 52v Shark GA 13.5ah, and torque arm, Generic 26" Rim. Changed the settings on the display per instructions.

Wheel won't turn when throttle is applied.

            Troubleshooting steps:
            -checked and rechecked all connections
-tried with trigger throttle. Hooked up twist throttle and then wheel jerked twice but then nothing else.

Rotating the wheel/pedal to simulate forward motion, speedometer shows zero MPH. Rotating wheel by hand backwards and speedometer registered MPH.

            Please advise.

sounds like hall sensors are wired incorrectly, especially if you're getting a backwards mph reading. dont go hog nuts on the throttle when its doing this, if youre not getting any wheel turning you could possibly blow your controller. I've done it, twice.

Hall sensors? Is that internal to the hub or the controller?

The Hall sensors are internal to the motor.

Hi, I have been doing a lot of reading on different ebike builds. My goal is to build an ebike for hunting. I would like to be able to take this bike on some crazy steep hills and really get into places where you can not get with an ATV all without peddling. I was planning putting BBSHD on a fat bike with a small front chain ring and a large battery. I haven't ever ridden an ebike before so I don't know what to expect from the BBSHD. My question is do you think the BBSHD would be strong enough to do what I would like it to do?

Sure, there's not much a bbshd can't do if you gear it right.

There are various hunting rig builds pictured on the forum and the gallery. They all use bbshd.

I have a 2016 Trek FX 7.2 that I'm considering installing a BBS02 on. My concern is with the location and height of the rear derailleur cable under the bottom bracket (see att'd pics) . Will the BBS02 clear the cable without modifications? If not, does anyone know of a fix or is the BBS02 not a good fit for this bike?

This is where I'm at with my Sorrento. I have already removed the front derailleur, cable, plastic guide and am about to reroute the rear derailleur cable into a housing and over the top of the bottom bracket. My kit is on the FedEx truck and should be here tomorrow!

Turn the bike upside down and unscrew that bit. It's fine.

i just made one like this [img] https://ibb.co/cUzvjn[\img] [img] https://ibb.co/nKsRqS[\img] and don't know why my images aren't showing but you can still find em. Basically what i did was cut the plastic flush with the wire and put a bbso2 on top. Fits just fine and everything's functional. I didn't press the bbso2 against the frame because it would interfere with the wires but if you give it like 2mm slack it works just fine
