Is the 52V SOFT GA 10AH battery pack still available? It's not on the main 52V battery page, but a link to it was displayed when I was looking at a 72V soft pack. I can also place it in my cart.

Also, do the 52V SOFT GA 10AH and the 72V FAT TRIANGLE PANASONIC GA 10AH packs provide the same continuous amperage? They appear to use the same cells are both 3p packs.

Just to clarify a bit here, the 72v 10ah triangle can do 50a, but just because it can does NOT mean that you should pull that much continuously from a 3p pack. GA cells in a 3p configuration are rated for 30A. It is up to you if you want to pull more, the bms will let you peak at more than double that if you want to, but it's not great for cycle life.

This pack is provided for high performance users who know what they are getting into and says as much on the listing. If you plan on pulling some huge amount of current to match that huge amount of voltage we would recommend putting multiple in parallel, which we also have written on the listing.

Thanks, I'm planning to keep the continuous draw down to 30A, at 72V that's more than enough power for me :) I was just curious about weather the 52V pack used different cells. BTW - I assume there isn't an easy way to limit the current draw on the standard controller that comes with the 3000W Cyclone kit, correct? I'm planning to limit draw by just watching my ammeter, but if I could lower the max current on the controller, that would be cool.

I see. Actually it does use the same cells, but a lower powered BMS. The reason for this is, you can easily find plenty of 30A cont. / 50A peak bms for 52v nominal, but it's pretty rare to find a good one with those same discharge specs for 72v nominal.

I guess BMS manufacturers assume if you are going to go for a high voltage BMS you also want a high current BMS.

In answer to your other question you could use a 3 speed switch with stock controller, but that's speed-based not current based so you might still peak a bit more than you would like depending on circumstances.

If you mean with the stock controller it pulls 40a continuous and about 70 peak.

The only Front Hub Motors for fatbike I seen, all are for 135mm dropouts. But I have 150mm front dropouts.
Will 135mm motor fit? 750W geared Bafang, for example

No this will not fit your bike, you need a motor that fits your specs..

Possibly you could use the rear double gear motor on your front 150 mm dropouts. The rear is for 145 mm.
I'm not sure I would be confident enough to say for sure one way or the other that it would work though.

I just received my new BBSHD and Wolfpack battery. I want to charge and balance the battery, so I hook it up to the charger for the recommended first 4 or 5 100% charge cycles. After I charge it to 100%, I need to discharge it so I can charge again. What is the recommended way to discharge the battery? I've been searching the site but haven't found anything. The battery is not yet hooked up to the motor, or I would just run the motor for several minutes. Is that what I need to do? How else can I discharge the battery?

I would focus on building the ebike then. Batteries are not supposed to sit at 100% for long periods of time.

You could build a battery discharger from anything that runs off of DC power and can have multiple in parallel (incandescent lights, resistors, maybe some old fans etc)

Thank you Paxtana I found PAS issue and I fixed it and throttle problem also found the issue,throttle it self is defactive , when I was trying disconnect it from wiring harness , as soon as I touched the end of wire of throttle motor started working , and so I keep playing the wire it would go on and off, so there is short in the throttle, emailed the Luna to see if they can send me replacement.Here is the link

Hi, I have a Luna DIY build bike with a 750c full color display. I'm finding that the battery gauge on it is not very accurate in the sense that it gets down to about 45v and then shoots down to zero, so my I run out of power when I'm in the middle of a ride. Is there something I can do to tweak that or address that? Or should I supplement by buying and installing a Batt-Man Ebike Amp Hour Fuel Gauge?

Is this with a 52v battery? Because if so, you'll see with this chart here that 45v is pretty close to being on a low battery. With voltage sag, you're probably hitting the cut-off. You should be calling it quits and heading home at around 47v - 48v

Questions for Luna Cycles. Please Reference 2018 Luna Giant Roam 3 for the questions

1. Can the BBS02 be set-up at Luna as a 750w Street Legal motor
2. Can Luna pre-set the bike or can I set-up the bike (using the BAFANG BBS02 AND BBSHD PROGRAMMING CABLE) as a California Class 3 Compliant Bike? Can the at home program process even go so far as to set and satisfy Class 1 or 2 requirements and undo them?
3. Is the BBS02 pedal assist system a cadence, torque, or combination of cadence/torque? Is it a smooth, responsive, and well integrated system? I trust your reputation for being honest brokers.
4. Is the BBS02 linked to the brake system and will it cut-out when brakes are applied?
5. The Current 2018 Giant Roam 3 frames https://www.giant-bicycles.com/us/roam-3-disc are satin blue / black and matte black / neon green.. Are they part of your frame options?

The Luna Wrench is the same as the Socket set but the Socket set is of much higher quality and will get you a much tighter fit than the wrench will get you without a cheater bar.

I believe the On/Off Solid State switch is currently out of stock right now.

Hello. Thank you for this excellent support you provide here.
Q: How can I get more speed out of my BBSHD? It doesn't appear there are any aftermarket controllers for more power available. I understand you sell bikes with them though? Would the cyclone go faster than my BBSHD? Can you put a ludicrous controller on any bike you guys build/provide? I'm looking to go from 30-33mph I'm currently achieving on mostly flat ground to at least 40mph+. Using the luna 42T ring.

Q: "It's OK to charge it to 100% to get more range, just don't let the battery sit at 100% for more than 2hours." I have done this for the past year where the battery will sit for anywhere from 12 hours to a week on 100% charge and haven't noticed any issues with this. Can you explain what/why I shouldn't do this? I assume less life from the battery. Using your advanced $80 charger, the "smart" blue one.

Ah, I believe the Ludicrous controller is currently not for sale to the public right now. Even then, it doesn't modify or increase the top speed in anyway. Only the acceleration and torque gets doubled. Speed limits are generally limited by the voltage of the battery and the max RPM of the motor. A Cyclone will definitely go faster than a BBSHD due it's voltage compatibility (up to 72v) but will also be much louder than a BBSHD.

Also, charging to 100% and storing for a week once or twice isn't so bad, but if you continue to do this, your total maximum charge level will go down, and the batteries themselves will not be able to output as much power as they did when you first got them. You won't really notice this effect until one day when your battery randomly shuts off on you mid-charge. Always good to charge 100% and use it right away, and only store the battery at about 40%-50% charge.

Hi, I'm in the process of buying a 3000W Luna mid drives, but one of the options I would like seems to be out of stock: The triple chain ring. I really need this option as I want to gear my bike as low as possible as I will be using it exclusively in mountains. Can you tell me:
1- When will you have more triple chain rings in stock or do you have a different triple chain ring you can recommend that you do have?
2- If you won't have any in the near future, can I use the Lunatick chain ring mount the 30Tooth mighty-mini to it to convert it to a triple chain ring. (would that work?)

It will be sold out for a while but we should have more possibly within a month. No you cannot use lunatic crankset to mount Mighty Mini.. but even with stock lunatic it's enough to wheelie in low gear.

Can I just use the default double chain ring that comes with the Luna 3000W and swap out one of the chain rings with a smaller one?
