I'd like to quickly test a a Cyclone kit with a new soft pack battery (72V 10AH) - both from Luna. The battery is about 45% charged (~70V). Should I charge the battery to 80% or 100% before testing? I read that the first charge should be 100% - but I won't finish my build for another 2 weeks and I also read that you don't want to leave a battery sitting with a 100% charge for too long. Thanks.

Good day, I recieved my Luna Apocalypse yesterday and have not been able to get it to start. I have submtted the trouble ticket yesterday and went through all the suggestions in your trouble shooting section. The horn and lights do work but the LCD just won't power on. It seems this is a DOA unit. How do we get me a working scooter or is there some secret trouble-shooting we can try as well? Can someone call me directly? If so my number is 801-558-7885

Hi, new to the forum and did a quick search but didn't find anything. Wondering if someone can help or has come up with a good way to get a 52t ring on the BBSHD? I had one my BBS-02 but can't just swap it over. I purchased the HD spider/adapter and a 52t ring, but the chain-line is now too far off. I'm running a single-speed,so I won't need to worry about shifting a cassette, but I just need the front ring to line up closer to the frame. Any ideas?

I have a 48v 13.5ah Panasonic Shark and a BBSHD. I'd like to add a Mighty Mini, but I'm confused about what voltage I should get. I'd like to get the 52v but I heard that I can't plug it into my system because it's 48v, but your product description says "52v means higher voltage for even more power with the same 48v controller and motor." Can I use the 52v Might Mini?
Secondary questions: how to I plug it into my setup? Would I wait until the 48v runs dry and then unplug the connectors on the 48v and plug the Mighty Mini into that receptor, or do I need to create a whole new wiring setup?

Sure you can use a mighty mini. BBSxx mid drives can use 48v or 52v batteries.
Did you change the wires on the bbshd or is it stock? If it's stock and you're rocking anderson connectors on there, just leave this stuck on the end of the mighty mini so it also has matching anderson https://lunacycle.com/batteries/conn...ole-connector/

I have a BBS02 purchased in 2016. The wheel sensor seems to have a short. By moving the cable back and forth, I can get the light to come back on but a good bump will make it stop working. What do I need to do to repair this? I see that there is not a connector to replace the cable without opening up the motor case.

I just received a new battery from luna cycles and I can't find the charging instructions anywhere online for a new battery. I just spent an hour on line searching. Anyone care to share info or a link for this info.
Thanks!!

When batteries are made at the factory the cells are spot welded into parallel groups and series. A battery management System is then soldered to each parallel group. For example a 52 volt 11.5ah or 13.5ah Shark pack will have 56 cells and the packs is called a 14s 4p. When charging the Battery Management System (BMS)

so after hitting a pot hole, i noticed a stranger than usual high pitched rattle to the normal squeel of the motor.
but only when accelerating.
i took it home and noticed that when I hold down the brakes I can throttle it up and here the motor spinning even though the wheel is stationary
something must have come loose, can I take it apart and tighten up or get a new well i do know
it seems to run fine on the flats but im sure it will not climb hills like she used to
please help

Sorry for this probably dumb question, but I bought the custom faux CF finish BBSHD controller cover and it's not full of the potting I see in the stock controllers. Do I install as is, or am I supposed to add potting?

Some (far from all) potting has very good thermal conductivity and will help a lot conducting heat away from the top of the MOSFET's.
I have no idea about the potting they are using here but it is similar in consistency and appearance to the thermally conductive potting I've used in vehicle ECU's...
Unfortunately it's also similar to potting that has terrible thermal properties too...Last edited by AZguy; 05-06-2018, 01:37 PM.

New to forums! I'm moving most of the bits and bobs from my wife's first ebike (750W Bafang 67mm bbs02 on a vintage Univega Mixte) to her new favorite fat tire bike (Framed Minnesota getting a100mm bbshd @750w).
Here's the question: Can I just move the DPC-14 display from the bbs02 to the bbshd without having to reprogram anything? Or do I need to buy a display when I buy the bare 100mm motor/controller?

Hello, there.
I've got your 60 teeth sprocket for Sur-Ron, but I've never deal with chains and wheels and sprockets before. Do you have any kind of manual of how to install this sprocket on my bike?
If you can post any links or faq of how to deal with chain and it's length changing and how to install new chain to the bike would be great to see it!
Thank you!Last edited by Uran; 05-07-2018, 08:10 AM.

Sprocket just bolts on, for the chain it depends if you have a chain already properly sized for it or you are using a generic chain and need to size it, or you have two chains and are combining them for longer length, as well as whether the existing chain has a masterlink or not.
If you look up on youtube how to use a masterlink on chain that'll show you vids on masterlinks, if you need to use a "chain breaker" tool to split/combine chains put that term into youtube.
