Hello. What is the size of the sprocket which comes with the BBSHD hub motor kit by default? I counted 48T in the product photo. Is that correct? I have a 38T on there now and there is tons of space to the chainstays. I hope I never have to pedal this bike with a dead battery, and I doubt i could pedal in 1st gear with a 48T sprocket.

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question. Sales tax was added to my cart, even with an Oregon shipping address. We don't pay sales tax. Can you find a way to take that off my order total, or direct me to someone who can? Thanks.

It will be removed after entering your billing & address details during the final checkout. It's only included by default before you enter your address due to the website design limitations.

My ebike was behaving wierdly when making the 14 mile commute home yesterday.
1. ) At about 40 volts the ebike felt a bit sluggish.
2.) After 9 miles into the trip back home from work the power would cut out briefly and then it would come back after a couple minutes. When the power did come back it would last for a couple seconds and it would be very weak.
Some more possibly relevant information :
I am using a 46t chainring.
A picture of the battery I got is attached below.
I am using the bbshd and carrying two panniers that weigh 40 lbs.
I weigh 190 lbs.
I charged the battery to 100 percent before leaving to work ( This is my 4/5 time charging it to 100 percent to balance the cells.)
My 14 mile commute to work was great. It was windy and there were several hills I had to climb and yet I got there in 32 min.
Shortly after the power would cut out I touched the battery and it was barely warm. I also touched the bbshd and it was barely warm as well.

Check the Hub Motor Documentation thread. Lots of good information in there. You mainly just need to check your dropout widths to see if they are between 100mm and 135mm depending on rear or front and voila! Bolt that sucker on, wire 'er up and you're good.
The most important thing when starting a bike build is to figure out what is going to work best for the bike you have and what you need it for. What you need to buy
If you're looking for a Mid-Drive kit, you'll wanna check out these links and see if your bottom bracket meets the standard requirements.
How to order the right Bafang BBS02 or BBSHD the First Time ! Many folks ask the question "Will a BBSHD fit my (insert any bike here)?" . The simple answer is usually "Who knows?" . There are too many variables involved for Luna or the electric-bike forum users to give a definitive answer. The only time
If you are planning to build a mid-drive BBSxx series bike, then the first piece of information you need is what size and type bottom bracket shell you have. Full article on choosing a BBSxx kit here (http://electricbike.com/forum/forum/kits/bafang-mid-drives/10736-how-to-order-the-right-bbsxx-kit) The Bafang BBSxx series of

The main thing you should know though is if your bottom bracket shell has threads on the inside, It pretty much means your style of bottom bracket will likely take the BBS motor without needing an adaptor. Threaded bottom bracket shells are called JIS or BSA standard and this is what the Bafang motor kit was designed to work with. The inside diameter of your JIS-BSA shell should be 33.8mm +/- .2mm. Make sure to check it. Twice if you have to.

Was getting ready to purchase Apocalypse, but it just went out of stock. When are you expecting them to be back in stock or there is a new version on the horizon?

Things are just a bit chaotic and busy here. I'm just doing emails on the other side of things which is just as busy as here. Typically not all questions can be answered in 30minutes or less here, especially general questions like "What's the best recommended XXX for me" which require a bit of link gathering and information gathering to give you a decent answer and not something I can just quickly answer in a couple seconds. We try our best though. If you have something that I can answer in less than a few sentences, you'll probably get a response quicker.
I'll get to your post in a moment though :)Last edited by HIGHVOLTAGE; 05-15-2018, 02:33 PM.

Just bought new Dunlop 70 / 100-19 tires for the Sur-ron and the knobs are a tiny bit wider than the stock tires. It looks like the Rear will clear perfectly but the front will likely touch the inner edge of the KILLA fork. Any ideas? If Dunlop 70 / 100-19 do not fit, what are my options?
Thanks!

I'm going to do a BBSHD kit for my Yuba Mundo cargo bike when the 68mm kits come back in stock. However, the internets tell me I need a speed sensor cable extension. I don't see those anywhere on you site. Possible to order through you? Also, with the long chain line on the Mundo, is the chain ring offset a big deal. I.E. would your Luna 40-tooth work fine for shifting all seven gears?
Thanks!

Chainring offset is always a big deal, but possibly less so on a longer chain since the angle is less severe. Start with stock to get a feel for what you need, and refer to the offset guide for how the rings differ from stock.

Does the amperage rating of a charger matter, or does that battery management system decide what current to draw? Specifically, if charging a 36v 17Ah battery would there be a difference between using a 2amp vs a 5amp charger?

For a 26ah 52v Panasonic GA battery and 350 lbs of weight to haul ( total weight of me plus bike ) what is the approximate range I can expect if I charged it to 100 percent and went 30mph on flat smooth surfaces with some minor elevation changes and no wind and no pedaling?
thanks

How do I adjust the cyclone motor freewheel??? I was told it can be adjusted and pushed in further which will fix my problem but I can't find anywhere how to adjust it. There's a screw that takes an allen wrench but it won't do anything.

If you refer to my last answer on this thread it included pictures of what you need to do.
You have the placement of the tensioner roughly correct but the alignment is off. Look at the install resources on the documentation KB, specifically the link from Karl which goes over this.
You could even physically bend the arm of the tensioner into alignment with some channel locks if you had to, long as you could hold it in a vise first. Anyway if you sight down the sprockets looking at them edge-on, it should be a straight line. If not, this is your problem.

I need to know about the freewheel on the motor not the tensioner. The freewheel needs to be moved, I know it can but I have no idea how. The tensioner isn't the problem, I did exactly what you said and it still comes off because from the motor to the chainset isn't aligned and I need to move the motor freewheel back. It's not straight there is a curve which is why I need to know how to do this not the tensioner why I'm asking about the motor freewheel not the tensioner this time. I'm so over this bike not being able to work, spending so much time and money trying to fix it, it's obviously not worth it if I knew all this trouble but I'm already invested SO much money I don't have I might as well try to go broke to fix this.

Help My Battery isnt charging. Battery got soaked on yesterday's ride now it wont charge. I checked all ports and everything seems ok.. Correct voltage shows in voltmeter for all leads. The battery is a soft pack 52V 17.5 amp that has about 2500 miles on it. I have done the test to check if battery will charge through discharge XT90 ports and it does however xt60 ports have correct voltage showing but still wont charge. I suspect BMS needs reset but the softpack has to be disassembled and article states I should contact supplier first before taking battery apart. Is it safe to charge through discharge ports? Can you point me in the right direction?

It is only safe to attempt jumpstart through discharge, not charge like that permanently.
If you check discharge contacts with multimeter what does it say?
If you push the multimeter leads through the insulation a little further back from the discharge connector what does it say?
Yes it is likely you will need to email support on this one.
