When I plug in my charger to the wall it reads fully charged, and when I plug it into my battery, 52v 13.5 shark battery it doesn't change.

    Comment

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a reset for the charger?

      Comment

I have charged this battery with this charger maybe 10 times without incident.

I looked at those resources and read them when I started using my BBSHD a month ago. I did not read anything about the charger reading 58.8v and the green light being on without it plugged into the battery pack. The green light comes as soon as it is plugged into the outlet. Is that normal?

          Hey Bugly.

Use the "comment" button when responding to posts to keep the spam down. Thanks :)

Also did you check for an open circuit like Seb asked? Follow some of the links he provided. They are very useful and will help you figure out where the issue is located.

That's probably the best thing to do, especially the part about checking that it's got power at the adapter. The adapter bolts onto bare wires at the end of the xt60 and depending on how roughly it is handled could come unplugged. If that is the case you can remove the shrink and bolt it back down (just needs a screwdriver)

I got the charger going by twisting the xt60 adapter around. I guess the browser on my phone doesn't support the comment button. I purchased another charger for work and two adapter cables. The negative on the adapter I have is not showing continuity.

I don't see a comment button. I did not check for continuity on the xt60 adapter. I will after get back from the movies. I still don't understand how this would cause the charger to illuminate green and indicate 58.8v without it plugged into the battery .

Green is standby, red is charging.

These are a little better pictures I hope, there is a slight bend from motor to the chainset which I believe is the reason chain keeps coming off but I have no clue really, i was told it was okay but only thing I can think of. (I'm no expert or have any experience of course though.)

Ok well I don't have time to argue the point, in any case you need the sprockets aligned or it's never going to work right.

I'm not trying to argue, I'm literally telling you it's not possible to put anymore spacers where the bottom bracket is otherwise it won't thread in. I tried already it's impossible.

Ok..can you add more washers where you have several already on the motor, at the point where the mount arms bolt onto the motor casing? You can buy a longer bolt if you run out of thread.

What sort of theft protection is available for the Luna Apex? For example, theft of the battery or other components and theft of the bike itself
such as a lock on wheel locks, start key, etc.

Theft protection hasn't really been a main priority for these types of bikes. They're technically for private property use only and you're supposed to ride them recreationally mainly. The Apex isn't designed to be a commuter but instead a high performance bike with high performance components for riding. Most anti theft measures can be bypassed with an angle grinder in under 5 minutes anyways. I don't think there's a single bike out there that's 100% theft proof to be honest. Just be smart and don't leave your bike locked up for long periods and always keep it within eye distance.

You can also put one of those little buzzer alarms off Amazon to help deter them from trying,

Even my 16mm, 14 pound Pragmasis chain and motorcycle brake lock isn't good for any more than about 2 minutes. A Kryptonite Fuhgeddaboudit chain is only good for about 45 seconds.

I use that chain in the hopes the thief will just punch thru a nearby car window and steal that instead of working on my bike chain. Buiilt-in theft prevention on a bike that is actually effective does not exist.

Does anyone know where i can get the female to female xt60 connectors for charging ?

Hi, I have an xl full suspension mountain bike with rear shock straight up parallel to the seat tube, and I'm planning on using a bbshd mid motor. I'm trying to figure out what battery pack will fit in the triangle, if any. I have been looking at luna cycle.

Check the measurements for each of our packs on the product page and make a few cardboard mockups to compare to your frame to see what will fit best for you. This will give you the best idea

I decided to convert my mountain bike to electric and bought a kit. Upon doing more research on the battery I found Luna Cycle. Just curious what size battery you guys would recommend for my commute to work. Its about 15 miles each way with some pretty hefty hill climbs both ways. The kit calls for 48v 20ah battery. Is that a good fit for what I'm doing? Luna seems to have a higher quality/output battery than the other places I looked. Thank you for your time.

For that use case you probably want as much capacity as you can fit. 20ah would be ok, more would be better.

We’re attempting a build setup by a Luna rep. The wires that came supplied don’t match up with the power controller wires in color or in connector type. Do I just cut them and and put new connectors on and if so how should I connect the three wires on each side. Also my controller says 72 v and the rest of my system says 52 is that an issue ? I’m also having issues figuring out how to tie in the meter.

72v is just what it is capable of in this context vs. the lower specced version of that same controller.

Harness more closely matches 3k version as I understand it rather than mini. Yes cut phase connectors and mix/match until it is spinning and going the right direction when hitting throttle. If you would like assistance email support@lunacycle.com ask to speak with Seb he can more closely direct you on the details

You already bought it? I know a guy in Ohio who bought a couple of similar kits and didn't have very good luck. If you want to talk to him you can contact him through his web site. http://www.greenwerks.solutions/

15% failure or problem rate is MUCH higher than any kit sold here!

My 48v advanced charger came with this piece between the connector and the pigtail. Can anyone tell me what it is and what it is supposed to do? When i was charging it was getting hot so i removed it and there seems to be no effect on the charging abilities.

It contains an NTC thermistor in series with the positive line feed. It is a resistor who's resistance decreases when it's temperature increases...hence the warmth. It's used to limit current inrush at start up. You may notice you'll need it when charging an almost fully depleted battery...if not, leave it out. :-) This is based on the one I received to correct my mini 52v chargers problem...see Max's bug above.

i know that it only shown speed in kilometers! but i cant seem to get the right reading on speed! i paired with strava and its way off! can someone help me?
it displays 20kmh when strava tells me i am in 30-35kmh! my bike is a 27.5! and i dialed right on the display! can this be something related to were i put my speed sensor magnet on the wheels?
        thanks

What do you mean you dialed it in? Set it to 26 inches and you should get a fairly close to accurate reading but it'll never be perfect.

The magnet should only output once per revolution no matter where it is. What is strava using as a sensor? Did you try gps?

Well wait, which is it? You said 30-32km/h before and now you're saying it's 22km/h? In any case both of those speeds are more accurate to what the BBS02 is capable of vs the 36-40km/h or even 62km/h which you'd have to achieve by going downhill only and pedaling at the same time.

          The GPS is wrong.

It sounds like the display may be set to mph and the gps to kph - the proportions are about right (e.6. 20mph = ~32kph)

just on throttle - i get 22kmh on the display while in the gps its telling me 36-40kmh
pedalling - i get 30-32kmh on the display while the gps is telling me 48-54kmh
I tried different GPS and different phones! both gps`s display very close speeds
regarding the kph-mph settings on the display (that was my first thought! but i dont find any setting on the c963 where i can change that! from what i researched the c963 displays only in kilometers)
      Working...
