I need to build waterproof charging plugs on my new battery housing. What do you use/recommend? It need to be something that can be sealed after I charged it.

Throttle cutting off power. I have a bbshd with 52v battery. Battery is charged, display fully turns on and operates. Turning throttle will cut all power. Once off, I have to toggle battery off, then on to regain power. Throttle again, same effect. Lifted rear wheel off ground, and if throttle is turned on, power will occasionally stay on for a bit if throttle is held open. Release throttle and power cuts off. Have to toggle battery again to power on. Tried new throttle, new display and checked controller connections. Problem continues.

Check that the battery is charged and that you're not pulling too much current if you never used this battery with this motor before. It could also cut like that from physical damage to a cell, such as from being dropped. More info available here including a video on load testing the battery https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...ctrical-issues

The battery is a couple months old and this happens on a full or partial charge. The battery has never been dropped or damaged. The system worked fine until this throttle occurrence happened.

Hey, why I can't power on my BBSHD till charger is plugged in? What is causing it.. which wiring that is causing it. Every time it went to standby I cannot turn it on.. The battery is fully charged. I have to use charger every time I want to turn it on.

I took the battery out and did hold the power button and it won't turn off. There's no way to turn it off. :(

Might wanna check with Em3ev on that one then. Could be a BMS issue.

Yes, I suspense wirings between the power switch and BMS. It's working for now. Em3ev is helping me with this one right now.

Hello from Saudi Arabia, I am an Expat living and working in Saudi Arabia. I need to buy high performance 52 volt battery. But currently regulations are very strict to ship batteries larger them 100 Wa. Do you provide extra secure packaging and do you have an option for sea transport. Or at least did you ship to any middle east country that I can benefit from to use same methodology.

      Thank alot

Unfortunately Luna does not ship batteries to Saudi Arabia. Sorry. Only the U.S, EU and Canada right now.

Is Luna planning any bikes with the Bafang Ultra or the smaller (350w) integrated motor? I like the looks of what is being done with those, but am waiting for you since your prices are much lower. Also, do you have any data to compare the smaller Bafang with the BBS02?

I doubt it. I don't think Eric has ever been supportive of anything below 1500watts. If anything, he's constantly shooting for higher power. Always pushing the limits of what these things can do.

In any case you can just program the Ultra motor for 250watts if you wanted to since it uses the same programming software as the BBSHD/BBS02 with some minor limitations.

Looking to order a 68mm BBSHD kit, but it looks like several options are out. Any updates on:
      - left hand throttle
      - programming cables
      - batteries? I'd like a 13.5AH Shark or Dolphin, either 48V or 52V. However, all four of those seem to be out of stock.

      Thanks!

These will all be back in stock soon. No ETA's but it won't likely be any longer than a month or so. It's the Spring/Summer rush and things are running out of stock faster than we can keep up.

Hi, I want to buy your new SUR-RON MX ELECTRIC and make it look more like an e-bike/mountain-bike (so that it may go unnoticed and not grab any undue attention). So, do you sell items or a kit, say like a Seat Conversion Kit, to replace the dirt-bike looking seat w/ a more mountain-bike looking seat?

I would also like to attach a bike cargo rack that will allow panniers/milkcrate/canvas-bags to bring home groceries etc.

      p.s.
Also, I had the Steel-Gray(which looked stealthier than the silver) colored one in my cart, but by the time I registered my account and tried to pre-order it, it disappeared from my cart. Are you going to get more of those Gray ones or am I screwed? which color is less attention-grabbing?

Sorry, Luna doesn't offer anything like that at this time as far as I know. I mean, you might as well just go with a regular pre-built bicycle instead like the Wolf Alite or the Crusher 3. They will be much quieter anyways. The Sur-Ons are pretty loud in comparison so I don't think you'll be fooling anyone with a different seat post.

ok, I still want one, so how about my other Q? I had the SUR-RON MX ELECTRIC Steel-Gray(which looked stealthier than the silver) colored one in my cart, but by the time I registered my account and tried to pre-order it, it disappeared from my cart. When are you going to get more of those Steel-Gray ones? which color is less attention-grabbing steel-gray or silver? Maybe you can place bigger photos of ea. color, the thumbnails are too small and don't link to bigger photos.

Q: HIGHVOLTAGE is the "Pedal Kit" mentioned in https://lunacycle.com/sur-ron-mx-electric/ going to be Fully Operable? as in, it can move the bike by pedaling?

p.s. I found a Metalsmith welder who can make me an MTB seat holder similar to the one made by Stealth Bikes https://www.stealthelectricbikes.com/ on their B-52, F-37, and P-7 models; since they have a siimilar geometry, once I get the Sur-Ron so he can take measurements.

If you bought a bike from us and it uses rosenberger yeah we can send you one, just email us and we'll take care of it

      Hi, on your webpage https://lunacycle.com/sur-ron-mx-electric/
you have a bullet point w/ missing links:
"We can limit the power with a hardware limit which would make this bike under 750 watts and 20mph and therefore would count as a class 1 scooter. You can also decide to get your bike unregulated and do the hardware modification yourself (see video it takes 5 minutes). You can then place a placard like this one on your bike. "
You are missing links to the Video and the Placard that you're referring to.
May I have those links, please?

If you check out the teardown you see where the battery is removed. Directly under that battery is a single wire.

Cut that wire and it is now hardware modded for 750w.

Don't know what placard Eric was referring to when he wrote that portion but you can get this done a lot of places. There's a shop in a lot of malls called Things Remembered that can engrave whatever text you want onto a metal plate if you wanted it to say "750 Watt power limited" and bolt it on the bike.

Thanks, I'll cut the wire and put male/female connectors at the ends, so that I may return it to the original settings when off-roading or if I want to later register it as a Moped w/ the SuperMoto conversion kit. Also, CO doesn't require a placard, only a paper info sheet/sticker.

Inside the screw hole is stripped off. I didn't expect it to be this weak. How do I fix it?

Look up on YouTube how to use a tap and die. Fairly simple fix

I ordered the remote-on-off-solid-state-switch. I'm 3D printing an enclosure for my batteries, can some one help me with the dimensions (or type/model) of the mechanical switch?

        You mean the button portion?

      Hi,

What controllers offer regen brake functionality on the cyclone 3000W? Best if I can buy it off luna website.

I'd like to run regen brake on the cyclone 3000W and I have removed the freewheel but the stock controller doesn't do regen brake as far as I know.

      Thanks,

None of them, Only Hub Motors are capable of regen braking.

Whatever happened to the Apollo Ultra bike?

Not in any rush since we're already backlogged with the models we got, and don't want folks to get annoyed with long build times
