    Need Battery Connector

Trying to find a female connector to hook up to the anderson plug that's on my shark battery. All I can find are male plugs
like the one that is on the battery...weird. One would think Luna would have the plug for sale on their site, but no. The other
pic is the battery leads on the controller. Ideas? BTW this is my first build and my first post :)

Since those battery wires on the controller have different connectors, you need to solder (or crimp) a connector (which matches the Shark battery) on to these controller battery wires.

Your best bet is to solder these https://lunacycle.com/batteries/conn...with-pigtails/ on to both ends so that you get a spark arrestor.

I don't use spark arrestors. I just buy my Anderson connectors from https://powerwerx.com/ Powerwerx is associated with Anderson in some way. You would use these if you don't want a spark arrestor: https://powerwerx.com/anderson-power...s-30amp-bonded or https://powerwerx.com/anderson-power...mp-unassembled

In my experience, an XT90 connector with a spark arrestor will be more user friendly than the Anderson PowerPole connectors. If you choose to use Andersons, (1) make sure you buy the right size because they all look the same in photos, and (2) see to it that you crimp them properly. I had to buy the Anderson crimping tool https://powerwerx.com/tricrimp-power...-crimping-tool. I don't find Anderson PowerPoles particularly easy to work with.

Note that I have a personal preference for soldering rather than crimping, so I hope you solder these https://lunacycle.com/batteries/conn...with-pigtails/ on to both your battery and controller, making sure not to mix + and -, of course.

Thanks for all that. Soldering is no problem so I ordered the XT90-S you recommended, problem solved!

Commuter ebikes is right. Though if soldering is not your thing, you can use these pre-setup solder sleeves. All you need is a lighter, or even an oven stove to melt the solder. Eazy peezy.

Probably worth checking out the documentation linked to on the packs and kits since it covers this already, especially the part about only bbsxx being plug and play with hardcase packs. Even if we put Anderson on the other kits or sold matching andersons it would still not be what we would recommend. We don't even really recommend having a connector there since the cradle is its own connector.

Thanks for the info, Not everybody reads all the stuff online, would be nice to maybe include the info with the battery that Luna does not recommend the connector that's on the battery, and that the needed connector is not offered and suggest what you do recommend. I ordered the XT90-X male and female with pigtails, problem solved.

Just to keep things correct, there is no such thing as a male/female anderson. They are -genderless-
