Can't get it (my BBSHD) in until the ring is out

I got my bottom bracket out from my RadWagon, but the left side retainer is still stuck in the frame. After losing a fingernail in a breaker bar slip-up and trying liquid wrench and an 18V impact, I am thinking next dremel some radial cuts in the retainer, stopping before the frame. Hoping that will weaken the retainer enough to crack it and get it out. What would you do?

Heat gun and air impact - the heat gun will probably help more than you might think and at least a half inch drive air impact (3/4" if 1/2" don't cut it) will loosen just about anything...

Ahhhh perhaps rocking it one direction then the other with the impact wrench a bit? Are we going the right direction? Sorry about the finger.

I see you were forced to bring out the big guns.

An 18v impact, if I recall correctly, is not going to do much more than 80 ft lbs. That ain't nuthin'. You need either a big air impact gun or a 2 ft breaker bar and a cheater bar on top of that.

oh and x10 on bringing in the heat gun.
