How does the belt tensioner work on this? I see there's a tensioner on one side but not on the other?? Is this common with belt drive bikes? I'm coming from a motorcycle background and there would be a tensioner on each side so you get the axle lined up correctly.

Pax what size wrenches do you need to do this brake adjustment on the ECLIPSE?

I would have to confirm with our mechanic but I have never seen a caliper that didn't use either M4 or M5. It's probably M4.

For those who fold the bike and place it in their SUV’s trunk. …Can you post a pic on what has worked? I have tried a few different ways without success. Either it bounces around too much or the handlebars are hitting something etccc…

I think this is the ideal way of folding it up (weight is off the carbon drive, screen is safely out of the way), but it requires loosening all 6 bolts on the stem, so it's not good for regular use:



The other way is with the stem rotated, handlebars in their regular position, and putting the handlebars over the back seat:



This way works with the rotating stems on the market.

I'm hoping this one eventually comes back on the market in 88mm, since the 80 degrees of handlebar adjustment using only 1 bolt would make it easy to angle/shorten the handlebars a bit:

But until then, I'll be looking for ways to quickly loosen/tighten the handlebar clamp part of the stem so that I can collapse the handlebars. Maybe with some cam handled M5 bolts or something:

Very helpful. Its a big bike and even in my Lexus NX it fills the back. My plan is to remove the battery, remove the seat, fold the bars with the two screws and finally remove the bars if necessary. If that is more hassle then it's time for a fat bike trailer hitch type rack.

That's right, but there's no other way unless you want to loosen +4 bolts every time and slowly strip the bolt heads.

I've got some ratchet lever M5 bolts in the mail that should fit my stem and will hopefully make this a bit easier so I can start laying it down like the 1st pic every time.

Do you have more pics on how you positioned the handlebars over the back seat and do you place a towel or something over it? I have the Model Y Performance, have you thought of just folding the seats down?

Same, mines a MYP. The handlebars over the seat is just a temporary thing I'm hoping, I only do it for short periods of time. Just be careful about the glass roof and the small side panel windows. And be careful about the wire for the motor that's sticking out of the rear axle of the bike, for now I try to keep weight off of it using a bunched up blanket.

I usually have people or a dog in the car, so folding the seats down isn't an option for me. My plan is to have the bike live in the car 90% of the time so I can just hop in and go.

Regarding a towel, I've got moving blankets showing up tomorrow and I ordered some liners/covers for the sidewalls of the cargo area.

Went for my first long ride today. Man this bike is beyond cool!!!!! Now as far as the seat goes…..it’s killing my behind. What are some upgrade options?

I’m also hearing some rattling by the handlebars or possibly below them when riding on bumpy roads etccc. I made sure everything is tight. Could this be normal or what else can I check? I don’t believe it’s is coming from the light reflectors on the wheels.

The noise you hear is likely the battery bouncing around. Take it out and shim it with some door/window seal foam, just two squares about 1.5" on a few locations will do. Look at your battery and there will be wear marks where it is rubbing the frame when you go over bumps.

The silver aluminum bar ends are tapered. Do you think it’s possible to get old school climbing bars on the end of that taper? Has anyone taken this silver bar ends off and put climbing bars on?

I took them off to try to get a bar end mirror on. However, they hold the grips in place so unless you wanna change grips you have to run with those bar ends.

I went with a little bit more padded but thin seed after looking at these big fat cloud nine seats. I pedal 90% of the time for exercise and it level three and move along pretty fast. I’m using biking shorts so a thinner seat with a little padding seems to work well. I think the rattling is probably the fork and you might just need to tighten it up or use the lockout function. Mine was very quiet for the first week and now is making some noise but I also have a front rack for my basket. Nothing to worry about I don’t think

It's your battery in the front of the frame rattling, a little piece of foam weatherstripping towards the end, remove the battery and you should see wear where it is hitting. Roads must be really smooth in Cali!

I will sell you my Innova tires, took them off the day after I got them to put on the Vee Mission tires, they are like new with 3-4 miles on them. If this is ok to post??
