Looks great! Are they so heavy that they affect speed or range though? I also have a M3, and I'm happy I can fold this and put it in the trunk (if I take the handlebars off).

Thoughts on hub drive climbing. Pax was correct. The way this is geared allows it to climb aggressively. I am impressed and the hub isn’t hot after a PAS4 climb. Much better than expected.
Itwould be nice to see the volts on the main screen. The battery indicator seems accurate but I had a little range anxiety today. I had to dismount, toggle and see that it was still 40%. I do notice that around 40 the input effort seems to increased compared to a full battery.

Agreed re: volts. All my other bikes (and my EV car for that matter) decrease in power/torque some when the battery is under 50%, and then turn to granny mode by 15% or so.

I bet that really slowed it down!! I'm surprised on how light these fat bike tires are!

Our mechanic said 20x4 so I think that is correct, but if you have some reason to believe the stock tubes are bit smaller I can seek further clarification just let me know

Is this the same battery as the Eclipse (obvs different AH). Luna doesn't have any extra batteries for sale for the bike yet.

Extend your range with a secondary battery. Each battery is built with premium battery cells for long service life. ✔48V 15Ah battery for older STT models. The battery lock is on the side of the battery and the battery power needs to be opened with a key. ✔48V 17.5Ah battery is for the new STT, the battery lock is on t

It sure looks similar, but I am not so certain that I would tell you to spend several hundred dollars on something that is not a sure thing.
We should have spare batteries fairly soon, want us to notify you when we have them?

Very true! I have asked Luna support to let me know when they're in when I ordered the bike, so I'll just patient :)

Anyone have a plan to balance the battery at 100%? How often?

Why would they do that? Enclosed battery and motor specific controller.

I finally finished up my solution for a completely foldable handlebar and it works great. Now it fits into the back of my Model Y super easily.

Here are all the parts -

by.schulz Stem Twist SDS 75mm Stem:

            NIUAWASA Fork Extender
            https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

25.4 to 31.8 handlebar shim (outer layer shim):
            https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

22.2 to 25.4mm handlebar shim (inner layer shim):
            https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...TF8&th=1&psc=1

            Ratchet M5 bolts:
            https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

            6mm M5 Spacer Washers w/ 8mm outer diameter:
            https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0?ie=UTF8&th=1

Here's a video that shows how the twist stem works:
Der 1 1/8“ A-Head Vorbau lässt sich sekundenschnell und werkzeugfrei in eine 90° Parkposition verdrehen. Beim Zurückdrehen rastet der Arretierungsbolzen gena...

And a video that shows how the ratchet bolts work:

The ratchet bolts are very strong, so be careful not to overtighten. It might be a good idea to get a torque wrench so that you can figure out what 6-7 Nm feels like before you start using the ratchet handles every day.

And the M5 spacer washers you use must NOT be more than 8mm in outer diameter and they need to add up to at least 9mm in length. I'm currently stacking two 6mm long spacer washers per bolt for 12mm total length.

It's very fast and very easy to twist the stem and drop the handlebars.

Here's a video of it in action and some pictures (note that I'm doing it one-handed, so it's a little easier to do with 2 hands):

Just call me crazy - but out of curiosity does anyone foresee any major issues installing a kit such as this one to up top speed?

(I do realize that other things should happen e.g. hydraulic brakes etc - but I'm curious if anyone sees a fundamental flaw to this plan/kit)

I'd be planning to connect the battery on the top or underside of the front part of the frame, and potentially put the controller in the back half of the frame interior.

              TIA!

paxtana - Ah, I was worried it may overheat the hub motor - do you have any suggestions as to what it would safely handle in terms of battery/controller amps? Thank you!

I would not be surprised to see it handle 25A peak on a 52v nominal battery without issue. Roughly 350w increase from stock.

What should I change up before winter hits? I tend to only ride on pavement, but do I have to change our the tires and rims or just the tires? Anything else I need to know? I will obviously keep the battery and bike indoors when not in use. But many times when the streets are not icey and slushy I can still ride to nearby places that I frequent.

I don't see why you would have to change anything unless it was icy or snowy out, then maybe makes sense to have tires with different tread, but no you would not need different rims.

Does anyone know what’s causing this? It’s coming from the front disc brake

Anyone have any tips for using a multimeter on this battery? I don’t have a meter and scared of shorting it when I need to check it in a few months into a planned 6 month storage
