no clue what connector i'd need for my new Delux 500

Not sure if you're asking a question or making a statement, but one of those should fit. You'd need to use the battery power output that goes to the motor. I looked at the images of the Deluxe 500 but it's hard to determine what Luna used. However, looking at the 17.5ah battery pack, it shows an Anderson connector.

My Luna kit came with Anderson connectors already installed on the BBSHD. I could have cut them out but I just added the XT90s to connect the battery. I figured the two sets of connectors made my setup more flexible because you never know what you may buy or find in the future. I greased up the connections then taped and zip tied everything to my seat tube. That was dielectric grease by the way.
