The small cap is magnetic, so it can be knocked off. You have a hole on the cap just use a lanyard attached the bike incase it falls off.

How many pins are on YOUR Specialized charger? Just got a used Como 4.0 with 85% on battery and ordered a brand new charger from Ascent Cycles. The charger never goes from green to red (to indicate charging). When you look at the pins on my charger, some appear missing? This is a brand new SBC-C04 Specialized charger so do the pins on mine look like the ones on yours or did I somehow get a bad charger? (My photo is my hand holding it, other photos are from online trying to compare how many pins should appear...)
