    Wolf pack battery

A component or a work of art?

    #2
Very grateful for the amazing people who made this possible including Luke, our folks in the battery facility, and a very special favor from Tesla, without whom this would not have been possible.

This uses actual wire bonding rather than the ghetto-style cell fusing seen on em3ev packs, then goes a step further with potting to make it practically indestructible.

You would have to buy a Tesla to get this level of technical sophistication outside of the wolf pack.

Fabulous. Luna just raised the bar. Again.

When? Even a ballpark date would be good. I am limping along here in need of a new battery.

Thanks. Paxtana, the real face of Luna

How does it connect? Is there a connector? If so what type? Or simply flying leads?

No power switch I'm guessing (harder to make as rugged as everything else)? If not, will this arc when plugging in?

What voltages, capacities will eventually be available?

Anything over a kWh coming, at 52V?

Any triangle form factor packs, or custom orders possible?

I lust after something in the 1500 Wh range, triangular.

It uses XT connectors like a softpack.

            No switch.

Eventually everything will be made with the core tech in this, all shapes and sizes.

Here is a video demonstrating mounting

If the last connection made is the XT, how many cycles will we get before they fry? They didn't last terribly long with my shark pack (maybe a handful of cycles) and I've resorted to plugging in the battery to the mount last.

              Oh, good! Thanks.

I'm pretty sure does not plug into the mount in latest version. The mount itself has no electrical components.
See below, both the female XT90-S discharge connector and the female XT60 charge connector are coming straight off of the pack itself.

I understood that - I've just had very bad luck with XT90-s and plugging them in last...

Will Luna be supplying black xt-90(on batt or seperate) for a stealthier appearance?

What do we do to put it on a bike? Do we use bottle cage holes?

It sure looks like they screw some reeeeeally powerful magnets to the water bottle holes and then the steel plate sticks to them...

Yea, I bought a rivenut tool in anticipation. I think they think highly of the setup so I am hoping for some close up porn shots of some anodized magnets once the fear of being copied wears off.

XCNick, do you mind if I print some for my bikes? I have some 3M Scotchlight film, not sure if inkjet can print on that, but would make perfect rear fender decals.

Go right ahead. I love being retired. I create just for the beauty of the creation. It is going on my mud flap, but without the hashtag. I don't even twitter so I have no idea what that is about.

Tell them to make the wrench! We need one with the angle and open slot. Yes, procrastinating my taxes. I think I like it better with the wrench laid over like the zip tie. What do you think?

I cut a gap into one of my wrenches so I could retighten with cranks on. Wrench failed first try. Bent open. Needs to be real strong to work as open end, due to camming out of the slots.

There is a Park tool that looks like a hook, but it too only does 90 degrees. I am really proud of myself to draw something that doesn't exist and yet you all know what it is.
