Just took delivery today of an X1 in S. Can you please advise when the L is available? Would also like the steel gear, if possible. Order #: 136700
Many thanks!!
Ordered a medium frame Rohloff package a few days back when it restocked. Also not a huge fan of the battery redesign, but I "needed" the bike! I was going to send an email out tomorrow to get an estimated lead time on my order so I can dump my other bike.
My Apex shipped already. If anyone is interested in lead time, I placed the order after business hours on the 9th. Bike was shipped out on the 15th, much earlier than I originally planned for.
I'm just curious what the motive was behind the APEX battery redesign. It's just my personal opinion but the old battery had a carbon fiber look to it that added to the bikes incredible sleek lines. The new one looks like a dire wolf modification slapped in there that is far less aesthetically pleasing. Performance wise is there any difference? Is there or will there be an option to order the old battery or is that permanently discontinued?
The older style is unlikely to be available again.
While the rationale for design decisions are not typically shared with us support guys, if I had to guess I would think simplifying production across standardized and time tested designs such as the direwolf results in a better opportunity to increase production so folks do not have to wait a year for restock.
It looks like they also knocked it down from 2500W to 2000W. That's a real bummer. It looks like my ludicrous banana with the direwolf might have more torque and top speed. Oh well...I've ordered it so we will find out.
I would not be surprised if the controllers and maybe even the clutch is included in the shipment we received yesterday. They're still going through all that though. If not in there it could be several weeks.
Not too sure on that one. Those are custom made by a local fellow, and it probably depends on whether he has all the components or needs to get more. It will definitely be restocked but I don't have ETA...
Hi @paxtana,
I've been lurking for a while, but I just got my notification that my bike order is ready for pickup! Can you confirm if both my order #s are ready? #134639 and #134316. Also can I get the steel gear as a backup for my peek gear as well please? You're the best.
You will probably need to remind them about the parts pickup since that is separate, also about the steel gear. But yes you can pick up both. Due to the extra order it may be best to come on wednesday since it is not as straightforward as just picking up the bike itself, I believe this was mentioned in the notification, but if you can't wait I don't blame you :)
paxtana When picked up locally, does the X-1 come pre-assembled and ride-ready, so I just need to bring a car with a bike carrier? Or does it come boxed up, so I need to bring a truck that fits the whole box? Thanks again!
Usually in same box it would ship in, though it may depend on current workload, and on the bike. Like a Surron is almost certainly going to be boxed. For your bike I would bring a truck just to be on the safe side.
Greetings, excited about the X1 Enduro. I have done so much research. Just waiting for the next shipment. If I order the ludicrous battery can you purchase the standard battery to use as a backup battery.
Is the Apollo coming back or is it like art: a limited stock.
Thanks for putting so much energy into a US E-bike, and for being a independent business owner. It is difficult being independent nowadays. I bet especially in California.
Bob
also a small business owner, Washington.
Hi. The option for ludicrous does not change the battery it changes the controller with a hardware modification that allows it to provide double the current from what the manufacturer intended. There is no ludicrous battery
Apollo is definitely limited stock, we should have some next year. Thank you for the kind words Bob
Are there any plans to produce more Wolf batteries with the clear cases ?
If so, is there an ETA ?
Also, how is your stock on the stealth black 30Q Wolf batteries ?
I’m planning to buy a black one early next month, assuming that clear ones won’t be available, but I might accelerate the purchase, if I’m at risk of encountering an out of stock situation.
It is not permanently discontinued if that's what you mean, but with the recent death of one of the main people that built and designed the wolf lineup, I would not be surprised to see production delayed since the semi-transparent version was easily the most difficult to produce.
TBH if I were to buy a wolf I would be doing it sooner rather than later, regardless of the version.
Hello, I would like to get on the list for the X1 in size XL when it becomes available again. I'm willing to put a deposit or pay early if necessary. I had an X1 I bought earlier this year, and someone broke into my garage and stole it, so I am eager to get a replacement. The bike is awesome and frankly my daily rides on the X1 are the only way I have kept my sanity this year!
Where would I go to ask questions about the Apollo medium/large and whether it would be a good fit for me at 6'5" 260 lbs? Don't want to muck up this forum. Thanks
