Luna Restock Questions Answered Summer 2023

This is a sticky topic.

Spare batteries are not a priority, what is a priority is getting people their bikes, in the middle of a pandemic when literally the entire global supply chain is delayed in major ways, as can be seen across all electric bike companies, not just Luna. We prioritize production for building the bikes which were preordered first and foremost. Right now our assemblers are barely keeping up with production, and when that happens spare parts are not even possible to make. When demand slackens off we will likely be able to get to these kinds of things again.
-
Luna states the X-1 has a warranty, 2 years on the frame, 1 year on the battery, and six months on the motor and drive. It would seem that any responsible business plan would require the stocking of parts to back that warranty. Stocking parts to support the customers needs is part of selling a product. Selling as many bikes as can be produced may be good for immediate profits, but taking care of customers is a sure way to assure long term business viability, and long term profitability.

I don’t get that picture at all any questions I’ve asked have always been answered and if they can accommodate they do... I know times are crazy now... I was just curious .. that’s all when they do come out I will purchase a spare ....just wanted one just in case I ruined mine....I received my x1 and absolutely love it

The Eggrider bluetooth connected display allows you to do everything the black box does via the smartphone app. And while I have not tried it, I read that once the eggrider writes the new program to the controller you can go back to your old display if you prefer it to the tiny eggrider
(which I dig).

I had placed an order for a large X1 early July for the early August shipment and wanted to see if there was an approximate eta. Order#12148 - Thanks, Zac

Hello any idea when there will be another preorder round for the X1. I only see small size available and I'm looking to get a Large.

I've been trying to order the Cyclone 3000W kit with a Standard Square Taper BB. I see the controllers are back in stock but the Luna cranks are on back order. Any idea when they might come back in? Are we able to pre-order and wait for the order to ship? Thank you!

Unfortunately, I have a 68mm BB. I'm assuming I wouldn't be able to use the 83mm ISIS BB for my application?
-
83 is sold for 83 only, but some folks have had success adjusting it like so
First off, ONLY the 68-83 mm square taper spindles need spacers. https://lunacycle.com/cyclone-bearin...racket-spacer/ (https://lunacycle.com/cyclone-bearing-and
As an advanced build where the listing says we don't support installation, I can't really promise it will work out for you one way or the other, but if you want to give it a shot it can be added to cart

Hi Eric and crew, I'm going to buy 2 of the folding bikes from u guys for me and the wife. We live in downtown L.A. Can we order them online and go to your shop to pick them up to ride them home? Pre-assembled and ready to go? Also do you have the black and red ones in stock?

The color options are on the listing, yes you can get them online and pick them up but I would wait until after we contact you to let you know it's ready for being picked up. Let us know the order number after you have ordered. likely they would not be preassembled but they would be in the box that they ship in

Just found out your bike is on hand actually. Bafang changed the internal gears in the m600, specifically the primary reduction gearing which the PEEK gear replaces. The pitch was changed 0.5. As a result the upgrade gears we had on hand would not work, and the work you requested was unable to be completed. Revised gears are in transit with 1-2 week estimate if you want to wait, or if you want to pick it up with the stock metal gear that is also fine. You can pick it up tomorrow if you want.

Only the pending orders are affected as this was when we found out about the change. I am sorry if you are unsatisfied and would be happy to cancel it for full refund if you prefer. For what it's worth I would just stick with metal gear, it is more durable anyway. And no I did not promise something that would be given to customers earlier, I do not know where you got that idea.

My assumption is that the vast majority of orders were close to same and they seemed to have gotten bikes. Why am I being told WEEKS after you had the bike that something on MY bike is not correct and that I have to wait weeks more? What's being done for all the September bikes you plan on shipping? So, my options are to either get a product I ordered for delivery a month and a half ago that is not what I want and or wait WEEKS for you to do something you are already promising customers above can be done earlier? C'mon... This is crap. This is just a poor way to run a business.

In the post you are referring to, I had not yet found out about this. I let you know before basically anybody else. That much should be obvious as it is not yet news Bafang just apparently changed a major component of one of their most popular drives.
Also, September bikes are on time. At worst orders with one modification might be delayed. Even that's probably not going to be too much of an issue since the new gears are already airshipped in transit. We can not swap out the gear for you later but would be happy to send you the gear so you can do it yourself later if that works. If so, let me know before tomorrow so I can let shop know to have the bike ready.

I can have one sent to you after the shipment. I suppose I could ask if they can just throw it in as well, but special requests on bike orders can tend to delay things so probably best we ship it to you separate. If you want it hit us up!

Yes, if they could just throw in the steal gear in the box would be great. Order 132462. Or ship it to me. Which ever you think will get me the bike faster.

Rsolis0014 Okay we will send you separate tracking once that ships
johnbee ok we will let you know once ready

Sorry for cluttering board with my useless soap box but Paxtana is a Zen master!
Supply and demand work on the Buyer Beware vs Customer’s Always Right sliding scale, especially when online; everyone has options, and a good vintner knows how, when, and where to age his wine;)
Hard to fault or not expect the land-gauge barrier.....and the other old adage, “Slow boat to China”, applies to both directions (unless BaDengFangFu builds an eBoat!).
Big Mahalos to the guys putting in all their time and resources, posting a lot of the info that concerns ALL of us Lunaphiles, current or soon-to-be! You know who you are!
Can’t wait to join your club!
