Messed up another pcture. But framework under aluminum sheet is cut 3/4 inch fence boards. Bungee holds it tight to bars.

With fairing i hit 38, mph when speedo quit working still accelerating Undoubtedly the fairing works. I am mounting my panel to this fairing as original plans. With this kind of economy i do not need anything better than 120 watts.
next is tailsock and aero panniers. And canopy. Internet connection is bad. Pictures later.

The drag from panels could easily exceed the production. Using the panel to reduce drag would be optimal. Buy panels that can be mounted in a helpful aero design. I have fewer options in having only two wheels. Your trikes should have far more options. I am really happy with the performance and appearance of the fairing. Far more comfortable in cold mornings. Drier when rains start. My cost for this fairing was under 5 dollars.

The 120watt panel i put on the fairing increased x rag. The 160watt panel gave 2 amp charge the 120 watt is only producing .6 amps. Probably it is operating at too liw of range for controller to be efficient. Had to rebuild fairing to take weght of panel. And much lightee Now have to modify to reduce drag created by panel. At these levels the system is not effective. Yet. With both oanels running, performance is awesome.

Returned the lousy cynergy 120 volt panel. Got a 100 watt renogy. Now getting 1.5 amps cjarge rate for 52volt battery through henasun controller. Far better than.6 amps.

Rebuilt fairing lighter weight stronger. Replaced running boards. Modifying for more aero. Looking like 200 mile range with 2 batteries at 20 mph plus.. (33 ah) more road testing and alterations.

What i like about my bike. Comfort. Wind and rain protection. Aero faster speed and more range. Self charging. Less time and safer charging outside. No electric cords or chargers needed.

Do you have any pointers for using the mpt-7210a? I usually refer folks to this thread if they want to learn tips to wire a car's 12vdc output to their battery rather than using a charger. Not strictly solar related and I know the genasun is better but that sort of flexibility is really useful

Sorry i have not used the 7210a for sometime. Utube videos are pretty good. You do need to set the battery parameters. It did do the cv to cc functions correctly. I think charge rate was also (amps ) was also adjustable. Themeter readings were accurate. Charging from a battery would need to watch that 12v. Battery is not drained. This would need anothee device to shut iff when battery drops. Not good if bike runs but truck won't start.
seems a very good solution. More efficient than other charging methods andhighly adaptable. Justnot good enough for solar.

This is underside of fairing. Need to do light wiring before i "skin" it. The fairing is madeof sheet aluminum bent and unibodied for strength to support flexible panel. If you allow it to flex it will eventually crack the cells

My 13 ah 52 volt battery. Look at how much range is left. I think there is something wrong. Like wired parallel it is not using much out of the battery. Have to drive into the sun slowly.
