I've been hearing about the next great thing being right around the corner for decades... just doesn't work that way... never has, never will

Energy storage, production and distribution technologies always take decades to go from demonstration to practical, economical and widespread... always... and most of those technologies that even get to the demonstration phase never reach practical, economical and widespread

I mean we could all give pollyanna cheers for everything that gets posted that is what our heart's desire that just isn't a reflection on the real world

We all want these great hopeful technologies however the reality of technological development doesn't usually jive with what we want and certainly not simply because we want them

A degree of skepticism is a very healthy thing

These views are based on the entire history of not just energy technological development but technology in general... pretty much nothing happens overnight - they take decades... there's far more hype then what actually happens and it takes a lot of time (money, etc.) for them to mature... much of the hype is about generating investment revenue and that increases the need for healthy skepticism

Always ask myself if it's so great why doesn't it exist now?

I want my Mr. Fusion - now! =]

          That's life!
