Welcome! That is some good looking weirdness for sure! I like the simple steering linkage, and the mid-shaft is a great little solution do your drive-side issue. In the motorcycle world using car wheels is called going to the dark side, but it still works with the leaning nature of a motorcycle. I think this will work out well for you. Definitely get e-bike rated chains. Good luck, and have fun on the rest of build!
