An eternity ago, I bounced around Long Island sound, out of Port Jefferson harbor, across to Connecticut a number of times, in a whopping 13 foot clapped out runabout. Always wanted to set foot on Gardiners Island and the (then still manned) Stratford Shoals lighthouse, but never got the chance to.
