BBS02 Mid-fat trail bike. Nuvinci with Gates Carbon Drive.

This is happening. Battery arrived today, BBS02 on Monday. Build, Spot Honey Badger Frame, Revelation 120mm fork (just barely fit WTB Bridger 27.5x3). WTB 27.5x2.8 fits on back. Will post more when I have it done. Waiting for BBS02, spokes for WTB Scraper Rim to lace to nuvinici. Excited.

    Cool,

You may be the first forum member to have a Gates belt drive on an eBike.

Initially going with chain. The chain-line is going to be a hassle, but I am still hoping I can pull it off with a 130BCD adapter, and some spacers I may be able to get my chain-line close enough. I am still waiting on my rear hoop to lace up the Nuvinci, then I will get the bike out and do some testing.

          Cool,

You pimped-out that Shark battery mount with stout metal collars and an aluminum plate, which could already be a small first in eBike building history. Wheee!

So the dropout is removable, which allows the belt to get over the chain stay tube, right?

Rovershack What are the parts you used for the mount for the Shark battery base?

Did some more measuring, not sure that I can get the gates belt properly lined up, even with a 130BCD ring... might still try.

Christian, yes, the right chain stay is split at the rear by the sliding axle mounts.

I wanted to get a stout setup for the battery, and the two bottle mounts just didn't do it. I used the below roll-bar mounts and then nylon spacers purchased at Ace Hardware at the original bottle mount locations. The aluminum was added to prevent any flexing of the plastic battery mount. So, four bolts altogether with one through the aluminum part of the battery tray.
