DPC-18 Display readout (remaining range missing)

I am new to e-bikes. This week I purchased the Luna Foldable. I spent some time with the DPC-18 display and noticed that the Remaining Range does not seems to be operational. That is a feature that would be very nice to have. Based on the display documentation it is a user toggle. However when I power up the display it appears then when I scroll through again it is no longer available. Need help to understand if this is normal. It would be unfortunate if that feature is not available. If that is the case how does one estimate remaining range otherwise (other than guessing). Thank you.

I think the range and a few other readings only work with a Bafang battery which has a 'smart' BMS in it.
