Bafang BBS02 Display Set To PAS 5 Levels. Programmer Shows 10 PAS Levels?

My BBS02 display is set for 5 levels of PAS. I would like to program these levels to match the mph of my Lectric XP 2.0 which are 0, 7, 11, 15, 19, and 20. The programmer software shows PAS levels of 0 through 9. How do I know which of the 0 - 9 PAS levels relate to the 0 - 5 PAS levels on the display?

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

For displays that are (hard) set to 5 PAS levels, they correspond to the controller's 1-3-5-7-9 settings. If you're trying to match the controller's "current limit" percentages to a MPH value, I don't think it's possible. You can set the controller's PAS "speed limit" percentages (down from 100% of the PAS maximum global speed limit setting).

Actually it is possible but as ncmired stated it is done in percentages. The speed for each PAS level is a percentage of maximum. I like my PAS level 3 to be 15 mph. I set the PAS level 5 speed in the BBHSD to 40 (40% in the ALBP). (Remember that the BBHSD level 5 is really your PAS level 3 as you use every other as explained above.) Any slower than 15 mph and the BBHSD adds assist and any faster it turns down/off assist. The amount of assist is controlled by the current limit (the ALC) for each PAS level. If the 40 isn't 15 mph on your bike you can tweak it to 38 or 41 or whatever gets your bike to 15 mph. With a few programming tweaks you should be able to get pretty close to your desired speeds for each PAS level. (I run a Lekkie 54t up front and a 14t on the rear with legacy 27" tires so my percentages may be way different than yours.)

Remember, the BBHSD just uses a text file. You can make changes in Notepad if you want (but Penoff's programming tool is what you really want to be using). Here's what mine looks like. Notice the duplicate entries as my display also only has 5 PAS levels. (...and yes I only run 25 amps (LC) to my BBHSD) -
