    2022 Kona Big Honzo

Here is my motor swap project .
    new 2022 Kona Big Honzo
    27.5 by 2.8 plus tires
    2 solid axles
all this motor battery were on a Luna build KHS Alite 500+ for 3 years until that frame developed a small crack .
Swapped everything over to a new bike...
Perfect chainline with a few motor spacers and a new lekkie 42 chainring .

I added a new under handlebar mount for the 500c display. I like it out of the way , and a clean bar look

Very nice buikd..! Can you please tell us more about the build. What BB size, spacers? Can you use all of the cogs in the rear? Can you post some photos from the drive side and chainline. Thanks!

This bike has a 73mm threaded bb , so it was easy to convert .
it has a wider chainstay than my old bike, so I used 5mm spacer behind the motor , and also a 2mm lekkie spacer ring behind the 42t lekkie chainring . Then I had to use a 12mm bushing on the other side on the 2 lock ring bolts . It all came together well .
the main success was finding a bike frame to fit this new triangle battery during the supply shortage .
I got all the features I was looking for except an air fork, which I'll upgrade to when possible

        Great looking build!

I'm waiting on delivery of a 2022 Kona Mahuna to do a BBSHD build on. Will be a very similar build just with a 2.6 tire instead. How has your bike been holding up? Any chainline issues? hitting all 11 speeds ok with the 42t lekkie?

Appreciate your insight and hope your enjoying that big honzo!

It's been perfect so far , although it's the bad weather season , do I've only gotten minimal miles on it so far . Chainline is ok . I will never need the 50+ tooth , and it's gets in all 11 , and I'll use the bottom 10. The chain grinds a but in the biggest 2 cogs , but those get used rarely , so it's perfect for my uses .
