Eldo......the chainring is from Amazon, just ordered to fit the Bafang 130bcd spider. Everything works great, but for one minor issue. The light that came with the kit has a built-in horn, but there it no way to activate it. Anyone know how to wire a button to it? The silly looking bell is more fitting to a kids bike than an ebike.

73eldo....it's a 52t chainring, the bafang kit came with a 42t, which I found way too small. I do most of my riding on bike paths, there are lots of elevation changes and some fairly long hills, but I have no problems with them. It's cable box you see, there was about 18" of extra cable that I had to deal with. My first thought was to use a controller box, went to the hardware store to see what I could find and ended up with a length of 2" pvc plumbing and a couple of end caps. Read that the motor retaing nut tends work loose, so I mounted the wrench that came with the kit to secure it.
mcmired.....got pretty much everything from Amazon in April. Mongoose Mushaboom and 120mm bshd. 120 is a bit too wide and I don't think 100 would be wide enough. When I did the install, I discovered I needed spacers, but didn't want to have to order and wait, so, again....the hardware store, found a couple of metal rings in almost exactly right size. The build was fairly straightforward, rerouted cables 4 or 5 time before I was happy!Last edited by Cyclops; 09-01-2022, 01:22 PM.

Looks like it will ride. Whats the round thing between the rear tire and seat tube? Hiding place for wires?
How about some details for those considering a build on the same bike? Year, model, and size of the bike. Which width BBS did you use? How many if any spacers needed? Why did you pick that chainring and what spider did you use? Any other issues maybe you were not expecting that you had to deal with or order other parts to get working?
And speaking of the chain ring it doesn't look like its much of a hill climber unless you are a very lightweight person. Is that about a 48 or maybe even bigger up front? And on the back you got a 13-34 freewheel? Fast once you get rolling. I assume that bike came as a 2x with something like a 24-36?
