1000 watt front hub motor on Sondors fatty

Like many other Sondors bike owners, I realized soon after riding their stock bike that I wanted more... LunaCycle to the rescue! Having no prior ebike experience I started easy with installing a 20 amp controller and 48v Luna storm battery pack. The performance upgrade was well worth the effort to install (hardly any). I also installed a 20 amp controller and 48v shark battery park on the wife's bike. Inspired by this article https://electricbike-blog.com/2016/03/26/ivars-the-destroyer-sondors-diy-2600w-awd-12t-mac-1871-74lbs-with-12-5-ah-25r-battery/ and seeing that Luna offered a 1000 watt front hub motor kit, I felt the natural progression was to go AWD. My LBS laced the motor into a hub and I set to work on the installation. Along the way I also connected a cyclops headlight with on/off switch. I'm powering both the front motor and stock 350 watt rear motor with the same battery. I take care not to stress the battery by limiting use of both at the same time (pedal assist with the real, coast if using the front). Rode the bike on the beach at Hilton Head and was pleased with how the build turned out.

Those are some serious spacers and stem riser on the front there. Is the bike too small for you? I run a stem riser also on my gravel grinder bike because it's a little small for me, but not that much. I would be concerned with rigidity and stability of the steering.

You're correct, the bike is small for me since I'm 6'6". The riser fits well and makes for a much more comfortable position. I haven't noticed any issues with steering control but then again I'm not really pushing it over anything too difficult.
