That's fine, everything can be overcome somehow, no such thing as perfect security. The original shark pack can be removed from cradle by just giving it a swift kick on the the side even locked. There's only six plastic tabs holding it onto that cradle in the locked position. A lockable ziptie would be an improvement if we can design it into Wolf

The ottolock can be overcome with a simple knife blade sorry to say.

It slides easily over smooth objects like ones you described. Probably not a good application. But thats not flex. It won’t expand if that’s what you mean.

How much flex does it have?
I guess what I am wondering is if a thief could slide it off if it were simply wrapped around an entire battery/downtube?

Yeah you can see it wrapped around the headset in my original pic. Best lock I own, perfect for quick stops for coffee/groceries thing. it’s so light and handy. I now wrap it around the mini cube battery under the seat when riding.
Impossible to cut that thing with bolt cutters, you’d need a power tool.

I was looking at that same lock last week, as a possible lock for our wolf packs to thread through the reinforcement slot. I wish it was a little less wide though but it looks handy. You have one?

That orange belt around the headset is an 'Ottolock'. Ultra lightweight but strong lock. Kevlar/stainless steel. Stronger than a cable lock.
I was skeptical but now very happy with it. Here's a review
