That orange belt around the headset is an 'Ottolock'. Ultra lightweight but strong lock. Kevlar/stainless steel. Stronger than a cable lock.
I was skeptical but now very happy with it. Here's a review
The Ottolock's ultralight take on bike locks is blowing my grumpy mind. It looks like a zip tie, holds up against bolt cutters, and fits in a pocket. As a neurotic bike lover I often advocate (read: rant) about getting the proper bike/tool for the job, because otherwise you
I was looking at that same lock last week, as a possible lock for our wolf packs to thread through the reinforcement slot. I wish it was a little less wide though but it looks handy. You have one?
Yeah you can see it wrapped around the headset in my original pic. Best lock I own, perfect for quick stops for coffee/groceries thing. it’s so light and handy. I now wrap it around the mini cube battery under the seat when riding.
Impossible to cut that thing with bolt cutters, you’d need a power tool.
It slides easily over smooth objects like ones you described. Probably not a good application. But thats not flex. It won’t expand if that’s what you mean.
That's fine, everything can be overcome somehow, no such thing as perfect security. The original shark pack can be removed from cradle by just giving it a swift kick on the the side even locked. There's only six plastic tabs holding it onto that cradle in the locked position. A lockable ziptie would be an improvement if we can design it into Wolf artdrectr thanks man I think I'll order one.
